Wow, you got some amazing catches! I went down to Miami back in January and went to the Hialeah Yard, which was awesome, but I’ve never seen a FEC freight train moving at speed.
Thanks! If you go out on a weekday along the FEC, there's a very good chance you'll see something. If not, there's always a ton of Brightline trains too.
Just seeing the color on those GE locomotives almost makes me think those are BNSF trains pulling that load of freight. Thanks for recording on the ground!
Florida East Coast is now in 2020 those are diesel locomotives. In 1923 they used to be as Steam locomotives. Two lost in Wrecks and two in boiler explosion. In the late 1950's, THE 5 Florida East Coast Steam locomotives were retired. The remaining 12 Steam locomotives will be moving to other railroads. The Western Railway of Alabama, The St. Louis Southwestern, and the National Railways of Mexico.
The paint is a nice scheme and next video can you do a train talk I like the variety of the engines they use Like the Video👌🙂 Also did you notice that behind the newer engines there is a fuel tank car too
I’m from Florida and I live on the east coast region on beachside area. I would hear trains at night. As of spring of 2020, I now hear trains during the day, given there is less noise pollution because of the current events going on in the United States
It's a very nice assortment of equipment! The SD70s were definitely cool when they were still around. Would like to see one in the red and yellow scheme!
I wish! This was from my Florida trip last year. I have one more Florida video and one Texas video on the way and then that should be everything from that trip.
I think they typically use diesel to start it up and when they're on the road, they switch to the LNG. Although, I know they do still run from time to time without the LNG too.
You always fail to disappoint me. You do the exact opposite the whole time. Your shots are so good! They should be in a movie! Heck! You’ve made a film about the Coast Starlight and that is Oscar worthy! Keep going! Oh, I have a question: How do you keep the camera stable with the train going by? I’m having trouble with that kind of issue when I’m filming a freight or Amtrak train.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I use a very heavy tripod and the cameras I use now are also pretty heavy, which helps to weigh them down. Even so, it still sometimes isn't enough and I do have shaky shots from time to time. One thing you can try is to get some sort of large container and fill it with something heavy (like sand) and hang it from your tripod so that it is relatively low to the ground. I've never tried it, but I've heard that it helps.
Okay Mike firstly why that tender on a well car in between locomotives? And secondly I dare ya to tell FEC to round up their freight trains and make one big giant freight train.
Hi Mike Armstrong, my 2 year old son only eats when watching your videos. can you please make more videos with classical music. Thank You so much. Im desperate here.
Thank you for shooting! Great video! I also filmed many Japanese freight trains and made them available as Dogo! I would like to see a super-long freight train that is almost incomparable to Japan even in the home America! If you don't mind, I'm honored to have a Japanese freight train on my channel with haikennsiteit! I am looking forward to the next video! I'm sorry for the long sentence!
If you were to ever do a giveaway contest, how would you run it? I had the idea for the person(s) who spot the correct number of fiber optic witness posts (white with orange tops) in a given video win something. Random drawing if too many correct answers.
Can you please film the Disneyland Railroad? When the Walt Disney World Railroad reopens in 2021, can you also film there since your filming at Florida?
I put this video together just before I started doing the narrated intros for all my videos. There will be another video or two that I post in the coming months that don't have the narrated intro, but pretty much everything else from here on out will have it.
Florida East Coast has such a beautiful line, paint schemes are gorgeous, as if every engine was a heritage unit.
It's one of the best!
CoasterFan2105 I know right!
I can confirm
By far my favorite train. And i live on the Florida east coast so i see them a lot.
Awesome Florida trains, I hope to see these when i go to florida!
one absolutely cannot spell perfection without "FEC"
You got that right!
Perfiction
@@mazda_rt24-p u spelled it wrong
The paint fits the railroad, you're presentation is well done! Of course, the 4k is stunning.
Great video. The FEC is a great freight train company.
Thanks, Nathan!
CoasterFan2105 you’re welcome.

EXCELLENT video Mike! Thanks for sharing my channel!!
Thanks, Gary! Any time! Thank you for all the help!
Hey mike!!!! I love super close to the FEC mainline I love those trains!!
Great catches!
Thank you! I was pretty surprised to see an SD40 leading a train on the FEC!
I’ve caught a FEC local in a unusual 1x1 consist with 2 FEC blues in Fort Lauderdale. Great video!
A set of excellent videos !!!!
Just seeing the color on those GE locomotives almost makes me think those are BNSF trains pulling that load of freight. Thanks for recording on the ground!
Fantastic video Mike!
Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching!
0:57 3:39 8:51 wow a rare double lng!
Yeeee! definitely Doing this again when you return bro!
For sure! Thanks for everything man!
Very nice video! 👍👏👏
Thank you!
bro, the sound is EPIC!!
At 4:31 between the two locomotives there is a tanker thing. Does anyone know what it does.
That's a fuel tender for the locomotives,
FEC ES locomotives use liquid natural gas which is a cleaner fuel and requires the fuel tender between them.
I remember years ago growing up in Titusville, those purple EMDs pulling freight through town.
How cool
Nice catches! I like the Classic EMD power on the first train in the video! I also like the Leslie RS3L Air-Horn at 0:10! Really nice!
S3L horn
@@floridianrailauto9032 Oh, ok! Didn’t know that until now! Trying to learn the types of train horns that are out there on the railroad!
@@zachariassiefker9249 We've got plenty on the FEC and there's MANY more on all the other railroads, so you'll NEVER stop discovering new types
@@floridianrailauto9032 Oh, that is very interesting!
Awesome video! Glad to be of help when you were down here!
I love these trains in Kingsland from Jacksonville!
FEC trains have a pretty paint scheme. Great work Mike. Hey I have a question, what is your thought on the T1 Trust
The FEC paint scheme is excellent. I think if they can get it done, it will be neat to see. Thanks for watching!

Yes! The fuel car is filled with Natural Gas! These locomotives run on both diesel and LNG. More Train Talk soon!
These trains are perfect for Florida and Great Video!!

FEC has some really nice horns and engine variety. If only they could have kept those SD70M-2s they once leased...
It's a very nice assortment of equipment! The SD70s were definitely cool when they were still around. Would like to see one in the red and yellow scheme!
I liked the SD70M-2s because they had different paint schemes. On the ES44C4s, the Champion Livery just gets old after a while...
Yay your back in miami
I wish! This was from my Florida trip last year. I have one more Florida video and one Texas video on the way and then that should be everything from that trip.
CoasterFan2105 oh rip
Good video👍. greetings from south texas👋🤠
Nice video I enjoyed it. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Why does FEC use those fuel tanks in well cars?
LNG?
Train Hunter Liquid Natural Gas
First anyway nice video I am loveing them
Thanks!
Nice Video Mike!
Thanks!
They were 125 Class M Florida East Coast Steam locomotives from Elko between 1923 and 1926.
Very cool!
Thanks!
@1:21 what's that behind the locomotive? it looks like a fuel tank.
Probably for extra power, or just a spacer. I don't know why they'd use a spacer though.
Thats and LNG [Liquified Natural Gas] Tender Car. FEC uses a Mix of LNG/Diesel in their locomotives.
Does the locomotive switch between the LNG tender and its own diesel supply, or does it run on both simultaneously somehow?
I think they typically use diesel to start it up and when they're on the road, they switch to the LNG. Although, I know they do still run from time to time without the LNG too.

Good job mike
Okay Mike firstly why that tender on a well car in between locomotives? And secondly I dare ya to tell FEC to round up their freight trains and make one big giant freight train.
Amazing! What are the tank wagons between the locomotives?
Fernando Schimidt Liquid natural gas. Alternate fuel for those ES44C4’s.
@@Jeragon186 Thank you!
Come to Connecticut one day and see some ct rail trains the crossings malfunction sometimes though
Wish u could catch a sd70m-2 :)

Hey there, do you know if FEC and Brigtline calls out signals on the radio, if not how can you figure out there ID's
Nice video!
hey coasterfan you should do a video on the North Western Pacific aka the NWP it would be cool
What would you do if a DD35a replica was built?
I'd try to go see it
Very good video Friend. Like me.
Thank you!
I don’t understand why GE put front door left or right ? BNSF’s GEVO front door both left/right

What’s in that center well car between the locos?
Do you know anything about how Corona Virus is effecting class 1 railroads? It might just be me, but I haven’t seen a train in like 2 weeks
Why is there something that looks like an oil tender behind these locomotives? Extra fuel?
Liquid natural gas
What's the car that's in the middle of the first two locos
Horn at 0:01?
1980s K5LA probably a big bore.
It's AMTK 822's horn from a clip I have of it on the Amtrak Exhibit Train in 2011.
