The first song I listened to by Sleep Token, I said to my co-worker at 7am: “This drummer is absolutely insane, he gives the band the freedom to sound however they want and sound amazing doing it”. I’ve never been so proud of a first assumption.
This man came up to me after their performance and shook my hand. It was in Oklahoma, where their tour in america started. this was before anyone was really listening to sleep token and i made sure to set the energy when they came out and i think he appreciated that lol. i should have never washed the black powder off my hand

I found Sleep Token through watching Will Ramos of Lorna Shore do the vocal cover of this track and I’m glad he did because I can’t stop listening to this band. This track just hits my spine and it’s just a phenomenal musical journey. Watching the drum play through just makes it more incredible.
I went through a rabbit hole when I found them 😂 it was videos of metal vocalists guessing other bands different vocals. I stumbled across will’s video and was like, “oh this guy is so chill and cool?” Then at the end it showed his snarl from the end of the the hellfire and I was blown away. Then went to him doing videos with charismatic voice gushing over them, and then his cover videos, and FINALLY found sleep token 😂

I always watch II's offerings when I need some comfort, joy, and inspiration. It's a beautiful gift to hear and see his playing in such great quality. I find that drummers are the most underrated members of bands since they're always in the background, so it's wonderful to see II getting the attention and love he deserves. Worship.
I'm telling you this, I've seen and met a lot of drummers. He is the only one that I have to watch him when I'm playing his music. The way he spread how he plays the drums and the cymbals is unique. He looks like he is a funny guy as well. Those pictures of the videos are so funny..... Plus when you are so good on what yo love doing for a living they're like that. The talent that drips from this video is insane. It really breathes all these little notes to life and shows just how much energy he exudes while playing. Simply breath taking.
I am not a drummer, but last time i was in awe with a drummer was with Gavin Harrison. Now II has refreshed my interest in listening and watching the drummers play.
Metal is just like the colour black if you mix a hint of any colour, the other colour changes to black. Doesn't matter if you mix pop or even Indian classical to metal, it will always be Metal! Sleep Token is metal! Doesn't matter what the blind man says who can't see colours.
Lore and fandom aside, the fact that these go out on stage and play actual sets with all those layers on is some legit dedication. Even if I didn't absolutely love these guys, I'd be hard pressed not to respect that.
I watched this for a full minute and a half before I even noticed this was an instrumental version of the song. Ghost Note-Chop Fill Daddy has blessed us here.

It is a thing of beauty, but also this instrumental version without the vocals makes elements of this song shine where in the version with the vocals they are more hidden and definitely not obvious. I absolutely love the emotion in the chord progression and the fact that I can hear the bass a lot clearer here which feels like discovering this track once again. This by the way is one of my favourite songs from you guys, and it is the one I came to discover you in the first place. It just looks so….natural. So fluid, literally hypnotizing. No pun intended but also kind of intended. Edit: I wanted to add this in because I feel like I have to. My husband introduced me to them, he was trying to explain the lore to me and i became absolutely fixated. I usually never go for this kind of horizon of music but Sleep Token is clearly different than your average. My husband is overseas currently so we share this bond of music together amongst other things. I actually ended up having a dream that we went to one of their performances and almost the whole time we just stood next to each other silently crying in a happy/blissful way. There's something so powerful about these people and the way they operate behind the masks.

Dudes got some crazy awesome grooves, kinda reminds me of Morgan Rose 7D in a lil way on how sporadic he is with his single foot, snare , and hi hat /bell and splashes!! Loved every bit of it
