It's all about the feels. Being a drummer myself I draw alot of inspiration from the melodies in a song as the song is developing and being created. You just learn to have fun with it and you play around with different things and sometimes its something you compose before hand and usually, at lest for me, I have more fun just being creative and jamming it out and seeing what we can come up with. I'm self taught and this guys style is very similar to how I play. I wonder if he is self taught as well. hard to describe but something about his technique that is telling, not in a bad way, just familiar.

I’m a drummer too and some heavy metal music drumming is hard for me to follow, but this is by far the most sophisticated and recognizable for me as I play Gospel music, and if you listen to some gospel drummers (Marvin Sapp ‘s drummer as an example) the drums sound almost similar in melodically function. They aren’t just a percussive sound in this song, they are the melody of the song as well which is what makes Sleep Token’s chemistry between instruments so prolific.
Beautiful drumming, pocketed and complicated at the same time.

A week ago I came across Sleep Token.
I understand at least this much: Having their names and knowing who they are are completely different things. This is not whoever you think it is, this is II making an offering to Sleep.

He is phenomenal, I love this guy or whoever “Two” is, this drum offering gets to my musical emotions, is a symphony of rhythms that breaths and resonates, leaving you wanting more, it’s the best melodic drummer after Neil Peart RIP, and he was a Drum God.
