    Thank you for the clear explanation of the Chuck. I’ve never had a drill like this, until I bought the Bosch PBD 40 and I couldn’t figure it out 👍👍👍

    I have a Bosch POF 1400 router and an old corded drill, both of which have been great. I was planning on getting this drill press, and your review has sealed the deal! Thanks.

    Imho. Bosch makes good midrange average consumer products. I own a few products from Bosch and I'm very satisfied with the cost and reliability.
    FYI someone also made a review of this drill press and he said there is some play in the chuck. He exchanged it for a different one that has less play and can hold 1 mm drills instead of the original one that can hold 1.5 mm drills.
    Soon I'm going to get myself this drill press and also change the chuck.
    Definitely a good drill press and perfect footprint too.

    The chuck has quite a lot of runout, but it is perfectly fine if you don't need extremely accurate holes and there is a replacement one available which has lower runout. On mine the laser isn't lined up correctly. I haven't bothered to adjust it because I don't rely on it to line things up. Otherwise all the other features are great and I'd definitely buy it again.

    I've never seen anyone adjust the chuck in this drill the way you do.. As I understand it, first you tighten using the upper and lower wheels and once tight you rotate the lock collar to the lock position. I wonder though if your method results in a more secure grip on the drill bit as mine sometimes seize while the hole is still very shallow, and the chuck continues to spin..

    Hi, can this Bosch drill have its body swing 180 degrees around the main post to the back so that base plate is out of the way, to drill some thick or long stock, or dog holes on a bench? Thank you !

    How accurate is the laser? Is there any way to adjust it for precision? Thank you :)

    • @davidsworkshop6913
      @davidsworkshop6913  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, it’s pretty accurate, only thing I noticed is that with certain big drills the “X” doesn’t show very well or at all.
      I’m not aware of anyway of adjusting it to be honest..

      @@davidsworkshop6913 Thanks for your quick reply! - I've just ordered one of these, and I hope the laser comes accurate from the shop, but after commenting, I did happen to find one terrible video and some pictures on Flickr of all places, which may come in handy for you (or other viewers) at some point in your machine's lifetime. I will link them in a separate comment below, in case they get caught up in some kind of filter. Hopefully they'll both come through. Turns out, when you remove your machine's green plastic cover, there are a couple of grub screws which can be used to tweak the laser's position. - Thanks again!!

      @@chrissnowden7078 My comments have been removed… and when I try to describe to you where to find them, that comment is also removed. Please search google for PBD-40 adjust laser - the first couple of hits should lead you to good results.
