Lol, thinking octavia mechanics involve timing. REAL Octavia min max. Step 1: Make a song w/ every beat Step 2: If you suck at music, make a line through the whole song and mute it. Step 3: Profit.
You know what matters more than a song designed to do dmg, a song that SOUNDS GOOD!!!, cause you will be hearing it over and over and over and over and over.
@@CptOriginal no it’s not... the most efficient way to play her is just a straight line so the mallet continuously hits the hardest and you can spam crouch to stay invis, that is music I don’t want to hear.
your playstyle is really interesting :D in my own video on Octavia, I told my audience to try to avoid gameplay interruptions and maintain stealth, but this video makes me regret that. doing it this way is *so cool!* I would personally love to see more gameplay footage of this build and song. I'm in your capable hands as a new subscriber :D
You mentioned that slower songs were for those with less musical talent, but I disagree. I found that my friends with less rhythm could recieve buffs easier with spammy songs, while I personally find it easier to be buffed with a slower, more precise song. This especially applies to crouching.
The way I got what he was saying is that with slower songs you have a smaller impact on your gameplay, nothing related to actual musical talent at all. If you have a good rhythm coordination, tho, you will have an easier time making the faster songs part of your gameplay, which is specially good for the guns/melee buffs, since otherwise you would likely be limiting your DPS to follow the slow song.
I gotta say, I really appreciate your style of video-making with this video. You cut right to the point in the beginning, provided nothing but useful information fairly quickly, and even threw in some funny edits. Hope the rest of your content matches this quality, because this is one of my favorite Warframe videos I've seen yet and I'm subbing to you for it.
I think the most important thing is making a song that's easy for *other* players to understand and get in rythem with, matching a solid loud mallet beat with metronome and a fluid resonator tone for consistant damage
I've got her modded for Strength > Duration > Range - Her ult is just too strong, and her 3 buffs are also all dependent on your strength. And seriously, who needs Efficiency with a frame that can replenish energy - and with Zenurik, of course, you're always good to go without efficiency.
Great video! This is exactly how I would prefer to play Octavia and see more people play as Octavia. To me, it just makes more sense to have that more complicated song which actually ends up making it easier to fluidly move with the beat. In my experience, I have seen more teammates use Octavia's beats when it is a more complicated song than when it's a sparse song.
The main thing that needs to be changed IMO is that when an Octavia is in your group and has Metronome up and your not playing as her and you want to get said buffs out of it, you basically have to take your eyes of your own frame (if you suck and multitasking and/or have music muted) to look at Octavia to see when the rings are close to her to get the buffs your self. So they should sort it that if your frame is in range of Metronome your also get that effect she has on you so you don't take your eyes of your frame and could get the buffs a lot more easier, anyone els agree with me or think it's fine as it is? :)
I'm way late to this video, but it's a good guide for octavia who I only got about a week ago, even though I'm 5 years into warframe. Thanks Joey for this.
Decent build. Her 1 is a large part of her kit, while you are using her 3 and 4 mostly here. While with a less range more duration mid strength is suited for her overall kit. If this build works for you though then yeah it seems like it would work
so. how do you do that without your hand cramping up. I play guitar and my hands are quite strong and I can't even keep up crouch mashing for longer than 30 minutes straight.
I actually did a assassins creed theme song on warframe that sounds slow and not spammy but everything slot is fitted with a note and it makes it easy to to get the buffs because youll always be hitting a note.
I hardly try to use the buffs, honestly I play Octavia as a CC kind of playstyle where I consistently use her Mallet and Resonator to keep mobs off allies and Amp for the damage increase for both my Mallets and Allies. But that's just me though,
I just filled in every note block and put the mandachord on mute. its impossible to fuck up sometimes i get the invis when i crouch into a slide, which is AWESOME
I've been playing Warframe for a few months now. Of all the questions I've come to TH-cam with and videos I've stumbled upon, this is the highest production quality I've seen yet.
I agree with most everything about this video, except the fact that Power Strength also increases the power of the buffs that you give, not just the damage that you deal with Mallet/Resonator. Amp gives a base 3x (+200%) damage buff to allies within its radius, essentially only an 80% increase with your 40% power, as well as your Metronome only giving a 12% increase to allies in sync. I'm not saying you're wrong in your mod choices, but Power Strength can also be essential in team play, it isn't just a boost to your ability damage.
I was looking for a comment to make sure i wasn't going to repeat anyone when I said this. So thank you for mentioning this. the metronome power strength also affects the buffs you do to yourself so the dancing isn't really doing that much in comparison to how it looks...
Problem with a full power build (like the one I have on her) is that your range is REALLY, REALLY crippled. Almost to the point of being a solo multibuff and a particular damaging roller. Though the percentajes are sweet. Who doesn't want to get +IO2% speed, melee speed, multishot and invisibility for a whole half-minute? It's pure madness.
I never said full power builds. Like he said in the video, high duration isn't needed because you can usually reset the duration of the buffs before they expire(when it comes to metronome). i'm not sure about your tastes but i'm not much of a blind rage person myself (i'm abit spammy) and stretch is enough for me in terms of range. primed continuation will counter-act transient fortitude almost completely. Sure it means you have to spam the skills abit more but the energy is still somewhat manageable for me at least.
My original point (which I still stand by after playing for a while now) was that the build he uses here is good for co-op play where teammates can fully utilize the Invisibility buff without much effort, and since it doesn't rely on Strength at all, it works perfectly. However, with the low Strength makes for the weak other buffs, Speed/Multishot/Melee won't make a noticeable difference with 12%, as well as Octavia's 4 "Amp" only giving 80% damage increase. To be fair, that is still a significant difference, and the 250% Range he has makes it great for defense based missions, but for missions where you constantly move, it's not going to be as efficient. You'd probably want a build catered for Power/Efficiency so you can place them down as needed to do a quick skirmish and move on.
It's kinda depressing how most players only use the invisibility buff (at least outside of the person playing the music) but i'll have to agree with most of this. high/max range greatly benefits Resonator, invisibility buffing, and arguably the Mallet. my personal priority is efficiency>power>range>duration, which is why i don't use Narrow Minded, Blind Rage, or Overextended. while it is true the resonator is rather crippled from only having stretch(and possibly cunning drift) I believe it's enough range for mallet(assuming it's usually with the amp) to reach enemies that are firing at it, and amp and metronome at long enough range for everyone to get the buffs with proper placement (especially if the group stays together) and I can respect your tastes but I don't really use Octavia for defense missions. or at least when i do I assume i have a nice spot where the mallet would be the main target, which would mean you wouldn't need too much range in order to kill them.
From the 2:20 points part right??? is that simple fast melee and slide/crouch combo? im totally confused over her, cannot get her invisible to work, even with the music loadout that follows with her XD I NEED MORE HELP :'(
I've been playing WF since U9, but I've mostly ever been solo, interacting with people on the most minimalist level. Octavia's the reason i muted most in game sounds and i opt for listening to real music on Spotify. That said i had no idea how her abilities worked for the team til after i watched this video. Before you moan, i'm not one of those old time players that 'has' to play every frame or run every quest. I do what i feel like at the time, MR be damned. I'm only now getting to Octavia's quest after having it sit in my codex for ages.
My favorite tune to go by is Sandstorm by Darude, and I have it on my Octavia, and it's the most baddest song ever!!! Keep your feet moving to the beat, and Octavia is one of the best Warframe out there

This is about as ass-backwards as it gets. One note per beat is the mindless buff machine, just rapid-fire tap crouch until you're cloaked, your gun may sync but whatever, ditto jumping. You can take actions on any beat with no 'penalty'. I have definitely seen far, FAR more people understand what's going on when I use my "PUG song" (i.e. a simpler song with every note filled) than when I have a more rhythmic melody. Having gaps means you have to space your actions. So like you may have to go jump... (pause)... tap-tap (the trigger), pause, tap, crouch... (pause)... crouch-bulletjump-crouch following the melody's rhythm, and because the notes are less spaced, their 'banked' amount is higher, so by the end of that sequence (say it was over two measures) you might have triggered all three of the cloak, multishot, and movement buff. With no spaces, you can choose to take actions at any point with no concern for timing beyond having some sort of steady rhythm (tap tap tap tap the trigger with some regularity, for example). There's nothing more strategic or exciting about that manner of playing, and your whole bit about 'dancing to the music' is lost when the music has no dictation over your movements (since you have 16 beats per measure in which to take actions and there's no penalty for rests).
I've made a very different Octavia build. keeping power str. In all my songs i've Muted melody sound while making a full pink circle Here's why : 4 sections of song each divided into 16 pieces. 1 section plays for 2 seconds. meaning u have 8 notes per second on pink. have a rifle that is close to fire rate 8.00 (i;m using a 9,6 fire rate and still works like a charm) full auto and before im 1/2way my clip the multishot = active. quickly power T-bagging for stealth. ofc u need some duration & range. As was shown in the vid i think a little less range and more str wouldnt hurt. Also octavtia's 4th ability the multiplier runs on power str. For the rest im trying to make songs with bass & beat only (Another one bite's the dust -- black betty - imperial march ) The only downside to Octavia as a frame is her nr 1 & 2 ability (there is an augment but reduces skill1 range by 50%..) ideally u prefer your skill 1 to be inside skill 4. but casting skill 2 will pick up skill 1 and it will roll out of your 4th abillity and it loses it's range, dmg...not what we want.. If there should be any changes made to Octavia it would be that u can press & hold either skill 1 or 2. (like embers 1st skill charge it ) and if for example you cast skill 1 fully charged skill 2 can no longer pick it up.. minor change BIG difference
Are you after at weird polyrhythmic one? I made this video foreeeever ago, so I'm not 100% sure that I've still got the song, but if you're able to drop a quick reminder for me in Discord or on stream, I'll check and see if I can send you some screenshots.
lol being considerate to the team, I just choose meme songs regardless. But really, its better to pick faster melody songs because you can just spam crouch to be invisible instead of trying to time it correctly
Good stuff. New to Octavia, still learning...as a PS4 playa, getting the invisibility buff to proc is proving a very hit-and-miss affair; sure, it may be due to lag, but, my end is good; I use the standard issue tune. Any ideas on how to improve this...otherwise, back to Ivara / Loki I must go?
so do you crouch/jump/attack in time with the circles coming in towards her on the ground while the music is playing? I can't always have the sound on in the game.
great video. I just edited a song the other day and this showed me I made it right with how I like to play. =) My active game play is very mid speed and the song is chill but fast enough. What I find hilarious is my other "gameplay style" song that fits me is megolovania lol.
Lmao I wasn't planning on taking it any farther than what you hear in the video (the mandachord is really limited) but I can see what else I might be able to put together for it.
Hyperion_Ape Its locked in a D Minor Pentatonic Scale, and the Notes for sail are in the Accidentals. Really limiting, so many songs down the drain. It is possible, just not gonna sound the same.
As someone who struggles on max difficulty guitar hero, I'd say beat-matching with Octavia's metronome is WAY easier/more lenient. But with a fast song, it's like playing a 30 min guitar hero song instead of a 1-2min one. You're definitely going to have problems if you're doing endurance runs with a fast song.
Basically one of the reasons why I love Octavia because you can go by the rhythm of your own song
I… kinda want to make the Hot Milk song from Snails house
Lol, thinking octavia mechanics involve timing.

How do you see the beats because I cannot see mine at all they are almost invisible I know you can change it but I can't find it.
Can i get the song @ 2:18?
For real out of all that make videos of Warframe, hes the only one i Sub. Just so freakin funny + great tipps (;
Draco.......I miss you so much
Johnathan King Same I miss Draco, the map layout was so fun. Hydron is to small and crowded
Gladiator the toe stabber i dislike ur comment only because of ur name... Triggered af
Uhm, can you show your whole mandachord? Only managed to copy 1 and 2. 3 is incomplete and 4 is blank 😅
Are you after at weird polyrhythmic one? I made this video foreeeever ago, so I'm not 100% sure that I've still got the song, but if you're able to drop a quick reminder for me in Discord or on stream, I'll check and see if I can send you some screenshots.
Is there any chance you can give me some tips on how to get the resources for Octavian eg 1k icon I have all the bps but can make them yet
I suppose you walk about Oxium. Kill those
warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Oxium_Osprey
Europa - Baal is a popular farming spot
You match my play style, so I had to use this one. Thanks for the video, I'll name it the Joey0 song. :P
0:46 what is that heart decoration?
It's from the valentine's day PVP event
Motion blurr why @_@
nice , ill try this with my Octavia , been wondering how to but now :D
lol being considerate to the team, I just choose meme songs regardless.
But really, its better to pick faster melody songs because you can just spam crouch to be invisible instead of trying to time it correctly
Song at 0:21?? Plss
Oh, I like your avatar, too! GG
God damn musical genious
so do you crouch/jump/attack in time with the circles coming in towards her on the ground while the music is playing? I can't always have the sound on in the game.
great video. I just edited a song the other day and this showed me I made it right with how I like to play. =) My active game play is very mid speed and the song is chill but fast enough. What I find hilarious is my other "gameplay style" song that fits me is megolovania lol.
Do you have a link for the song JoeyZero - Fasana: Find the Enchanted Door...? I want to use this song for my Octavia..... Sooooooo Good.
I wish you could close the skylight in your orbiter. Lighting looks way better. You’ve inspired me to make my own song for her 😎
46k subs ? This guy deserves like minimum 500k subs
I don’t have Octavia yet, but how do you crouch while moving, doesn’t it give you a slide?
Festuss you crouch when you don't run or stop and crouch
slide counts as crouching for the sake of octavias invisibility
when that tearing amen drops...
see. i was really into going for this frame but it definitely is not for me but it is made for someone like you
the complicated songs are them proably just spamming the crouch, which is what Brozime does on his
i can't wait for ps4 octavia. will you make a full cover for sail?
and first
hah... take that internet
Lmao
I wasn't planning on taking it any farther than what you hear in the video (the mandachord is really limited) but I can see what else I might be able to put together for it.
Joey Zero if its not possible its all good. i just really like the beat that song has, probably one of my favorite all time songs xD
Hyperion_Ape Its locked in a D Minor Pentatonic Scale, and the Notes for sail are in the Accidentals.
Really limiting, so many songs down the drain. It is possible, just not gonna sound the same.
can you post a picture for the Awolnation cover? i mean it sounds great and i would like to have that song for my octavia?
Ok this is real strange, my Octavia practically looks exactly like yours
You have vitality on a frame that's constantly invisible and has an ability that forces enemies to ignore you....why?
Ah the old days...
@@pinnacleofknowledge6015 hm?
Sooo, if you want a cool beat... It's similar to max difficulty on guitar hero where you just jam fret buttons and hope it registers?
As someone who struggles on max difficulty guitar hero, I'd say beat-matching with Octavia's metronome is WAY easier/more lenient. But with a fast song, it's like playing a 30 min guitar hero song instead of a 1-2min one. You're definitely going to have problems if you're doing endurance runs with a fast song.
is it possible to add you ingame and get the link for the song?
aww, poor excal. he's so sad in that corner.
P.S. Greatly informative and easy to grasp video. thanks
What’s ur mix for this I want to do sail
