  • What happens when you put the power stone in a 14.7L case? Its delicious! This is my personal rig update that I will use for gaming and content creation like this!
    We hope you enjoyed this build montage/explanation! Let us know in the comments what you would do differently in a build like this, or what you'd like to see next in our upcoming videos!

    It used to be that if you wanted a top tier gaming pc, you needed an enormous case for your components, space for multiple hard drives, and GPU’s.
    Times, however.. change.
    So here is my personal rig update: Amethyst. I’ve always been a fan of Small form factor cases, as nowadays you can fit a metric ton of power into a 14 liter case such as this. Unlike other conventional PC cases, Small form factor cases tend to be a bit more interesting.
    For my build, I decided to go for the Ryzen 5900x on AMD’s B550 platform. While in a full ATX form factor there are considerable differences between the B550 and X570 platforms, at an ITX level the differences are few.
    I hope you enjoyed coming along with us on this rig update of mine. Let us know what you think in the comments below. What would you have done differently?

    Thanks for sharing! I'm going to put 3080ti into this case and will try the extension for pcie that you used. Where did you get that longer stand?

      Very nice! I got mine here. www.mcmaster.com/90308A133/ Though, as long as you have the measurements you can grab them from anywhere :)

    Do you think a 1050 or 1030 would be good for mid tier gaming

    • @thehardwarehams7302
      @thehardwarehams7302  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1050ti with 4GB GDDR5 I think is the lowest I would go. Be careful to not get the 4GB DDR5 version or even the 2gb version as I know those are floating around. Good question!

    I'm so stuck between this or an O11 Mini :/

    • @thehardwarehams7302
      @thehardwarehams7302  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny you say that :) We’ll have an O11 mini review soon! Short answer is you can’t really go wrong. It depends on how much desk space you have, and your component compatibility. What are your build specs?

      @@thehardwarehams7302 I have a massive linnmon table top, and currently have a 34" and a Lian Li 0-11 XL that's pretty maxed. But Ryzen 7 3700x & EVGA RTX 3070. I just want a smaller case than this massive XL. The only reason I am leaning towards the XL is so I can reuse all the parts from my XL, like the 9 Corsair QL fans and my 360mm aio.

    Put enough thermal paste mate jesus

  • @zack9692
    @zack9692 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are the thermals like for the GPU and CPU?

    • @thehardwarehams7302
      @thehardwarehams7302  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my current setup, CPU maxes out at around 83C w/ undervolt + PBO all cores at 4.55ghz (running FFMPEG encoding ProRes 422). GPU hits around 68C w/ undervolt as well (825mv @ 1890mhz) running minecraft with several texture packs + RTX.
      We’ll get a bit more standardized hardware/testing for future reviews, but here are some numbers for ya :)
      Edit: making an amendment here. Was playing Control maxed out and I top out at 72C with that same undervolt. Just editing for the sake of accuracy.

      @@thehardwarehams7302 Thanks, just ordered the white meshlicious and plan on doing a loop with a 5900x and 3080ti, it's hard to find accurate temps, some people have a 3080 and say it's hitting almost 80c while some have a 3090 and say it's around 70c

    • @thehardwarehams7302
      @thehardwarehams7302  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Loop as in custom water cooling loop? I don’t have those kinds of thermals, only air for GPU. Offsetting the GPU with the stand-off along with the extra fan really does help. Without those things 80C is a very real number you can hit with the 3080 with air cooling.

    • @zack9692
      @zack9692 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thehardwarehams7302 Yea, I'm planning on a custom loop, but it's gonna be a tight fit and take a lot of planning with a massive card like the evga ftw3

    • @zack9692
      @zack9692 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wanted an xc3 or fe card, but those are even harder to find

  • @cryptok9185
    @cryptok9185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    this case is not designed for those type of GPUS! i bet your temps are bad for gpu, the cpu will be ok tho

    • @thehardwarehams7302
      @thehardwarehams7302  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree it isn’t. But like the FormD T1, I’ve installed stand-offs to allow some better airflow along with a fan. So GPU temps (while undervolted 825mv @ 1890mhz) never get above 72C.

  • @Benzin0

    You don't need to put that much thermal paste
