Great video! I was part of his Anti-Fractal tour in 2023 and I have to say, the team he’s built around himself are excellent human beings! Reminds me of the saying “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others.”
i am a hugeeeee subtronics fan and one thing not mentioned is that jesse was doing his headline tours with tour buses in 2018 and 2019 and selling out every single date !!!! i saw him on both of them. he was already blowing up then griztronics really made him more known outside of dubstep. great video love to see it 🫡🫡
Yeah I guess I didn't really go into detail of how much traction he had back then, he was really popular within the dubstep community, but where he's at now is definitely on a whole other level
people like subtronics are what we need in dubstep. as someone who is a music producer myself (been at it for 4 years), subtronics encapsulates the feel good energy that i get from his music. i can tell he loves what he does, he's true to his craft, and that he loves music -- especially with him making a record label to showcase underground talent (i was super surprised to see ppl like sharploud, junki, and vanfleet on there) subtronics definitely left his mark and will continue to do so, nothing but respect for him
The coolest thing I think about Subtronics is his musical style. He likes to try new things in electronic music and diversify his sound. He’s unafraid of playing unreleased music. Most of his set is original music. He loves testing unfinished track ideas with the crowd first before he releases them as a finished song. He’s super innovative in his sets, and my favorite, he’s musical and understands current mainstream trends.
It’s insane how far Jesse has gone and how successful he is. One of the most humble human beings ever. So proud of him and will forever support him and can’t see what he has in stock for the next years ahead
i’ve been a huge subtronics fan since i found him in 2018 and i’ve watched him slowly climb festival lineups all the way to the top. i’ll never forget when i realized he was headlining one of the festivals i was going to a couple years and i was SHOOK. i’ve never been more proud of an artist or just a persons growth in general. next month, i’ll see him play kinetic field at EDC which is a HUGE accomplishment, engraining his name in the overall electronic scene forever. from the small stages ive seen him at, to edc main stage, his growth is truly inspiring. i will 1000% be crying 😭
I was out of town but I had 2 of my close friends in attendance at the tesseract tour in Minneapolis night 1. They FaceTimed me when Subtronics opened and I genuinely have never been the same since. I have been obsessed with his craft and his sound since that night.
June 2021 he also played b2b Slander aka Slandertronics at forbidden kingdom. That was my first Subtronics AND Slander experience and it was quite the intro to them both. Saw him at his fractals tour later in February 2022. Cool to see how his growth has just gone up exponentially from local dive bars while juggling college and multiple jobs to selling out arenas.
I discovered Dubstep/EDM when I was younger with artists like Deadmua5, Flux Pavilion, and VR and I was hooked. I then took a break/had a disconnect from the genre entirely. Jesse literally brought back my love for it when I found his music back in 2019. He’s been my goat! I’ve seen him twice since and on anti fractal tour I got to see him and VR same night. It was truly incredible and I gotta thank him for it one day. 💪🏽
I’ve been to so many edm shows and I have to say subtronics brings out the best people. He’s so genuine and the energy is amazing every time I’ve seen him 🙏🙌
My favorite part about DJs and Music Producers is the BTS on how the began and how the got to succussed. I got to see Subtronics live in Cyclops Dome at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma Washington State, but its always crazy and interesting to see how they where built from the ground up. This is what I inspire from as a Music Producer.
I’ve always loved watching documentaries about bands coming up or singers, rappers, genres of music, etc. so its super dope to see this on the dance music side! Thanks for all the time you put into this; sharing these stories are always so inspiring!
Now that’s what I called riddim is how I found him in 2017 through a friend of mine. Crazy to think when I saw him at lost lands 2018 he was the open for the main stage day one. Now he’s a headliner. That 2018 LL made it clear he was gonna blow up soon when all of lost lands were at his set. Most packed opening set for a festival I have ever seen
2018 was my first LL, I had never heard of Subtronics. We made some buddy’s day three who told us “Subtronics is this up and coming Riddim artist, we need to catch him.” When I tell you that set was life changing. I truly felt that was one of the pivotal moment in his career.
i love subtronics lore, so inspiring ive been following his music since he dropped firedrill, and damn its been a journey. i dont ever follow anyone and just go with whatever is cool for me at a specfic time, but for subtronics i couldnt help but be a fan of.

My first time seeing anything Subtronics was is Deb at lost lands 2017-19 ish I was hooked on him for over 8 years at this point he’s a genius for mixing riddim and bassy wobs I will keep that memory alive.
Love subtronics from 2017, he always made unique riddim even from the beginning, so yah he is one of those artists that deserves way more then just blowing up. He deserves all the love for his music
Seeing him do a day time b2b with Dirt Monkey and Al Ross at Bass Canyon 2018 to a solo night time set in 2019 at the same festival, and then absolutely packing out Circuit Grounds at EDCLV 2022 with a Deadmau5 cameo is such a crazy come up. The selfish part of me still wishes he was small enough to be doing the medium sized venue shows where he can show off his DJing chops, but he's a crazy success story in dubstep.
I love Jesse, I saw him for the first time in 2019 at Big Dub, (BIG DUUUUUUUUUUUUUB!!!) I have absolutely loved every bit of his progress and can't wait for him to blow my mind again and again in the future.
This is such a powerful video for me, I’m going through the same thing Jesse went through in his beginnings and I also have a dream of Subtronics and Svdden Death picking me up in a bus tour to go play with them, I hope God has this in his plans for me 🙏🏻 great video man, can you make a Svdden Death one?
a friend showed me thermal expansion in like 2017,2018 when i was sophomore in hs. im 22 now, have been raving for the past three years. i finally got to see him live at cyclops dome back in november of 2023
You also missed that subtronics played an early slot in 2019 at lost lands festival presented by excision which also put him wayyyyyyyyyy more on the dubstep scene

I remember reading someones post where they said that they were eating at some fastwood restaurant and Subtronics was sitting at table next to them. The poster overheard Subtronics saying that he's going to bring riddim mainstream again. And he did.

Skrillex brought dubstep to mainstream
Subtronics brought riddim to mainstream
No such thing as an overnight success. His production skills alone took YEARS
I stumbled literally into the EF set in 2019 and have been hooked since
Whoever said he was the king of dubstep, hes not theres way better talent out there but he is very great and knows how to throw a show every single time
Wow I was able to help set up his show at downtown las Vegas events center & at the joint with ganja white night. Dope seeing him reach these levels
this is a great video!
