  • A hike in the Lake District with some people I know. We cant always be alone and we cant always get the conditions we want.
    A hike to Bowfell and Esk Pike on a very calm, still and day of no contrasting light.

    On occasion, I wish I lived a little closer to the lakes, and could join in on this sort of jolly more often. But for the most part, I quite like my patch 🙂👍

    You meet some strange folk on the Hill James, well iffy. Are you going to do some B+W from your shots? Some years back I had four Girls out doing their DofE Gold, their last day had Bow Fell in it. The clag was down and visibility about 10 mtrs. They found four blokes up there totally lost. They brought them down to Dungeon Ghyll, and the gents were fall of praise for the Girls' skills. They had come a long way since their Bronze practice, and I was very proud of them.

    • @JamesRBurnsVLOG
      @JamesRBurnsVLOG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t even know them but they were adamant they wanted to join me! That’s a good little story but sad in a way that 4 blokes were lost on top of what could be a challenging mountain. No BW this week, it just didn’t warrant it in my opinion. Cheers Iain 👍👍

    I was up at Great End yesterday, walked below Esk Pike. Had 4ft of snow in places. Difficult climb but incredible conditions and I did get the light for a bit in places but I just love that end if the lakes and Great End is less popular than others so we saw very little in the way of traffic. Did come across some young lads, one of which was wearing Tshirt and shorts. He was schooled because he came over to ask directions and I informed him that if he's asking that question he should really back down and take up a different hobby. You know, these young kids have bo safety in mind and yet he would not have survived if he broke an ankle or something. Just like reiterate the point that safety and planning needs to be taken into account. I hope he goes away with his friends and takes it on board what I said. These are not places you want to become stranded. Especially at this time of year. Love the images you got. We have to work with what we have and I think you made the best of it

    • @JamesRBurnsVLOG
      @JamesRBurnsVLOG  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ross. It’s quite common finding young uns on potentially dangerous fells without a clue. On this very walk there was a group who told me they had walked the wrong direction for 6 hours and asked for directions to get back to Seathwaite?! How can that be? Stupid comes to mind. I’ll be heading to Great End very shortly. 👍👍
