I'm actually working on an updated guide for Fractals, but not sure when I'll be completely done with it
Been playing for over a year now, I thought about Fractals, but the other guides doesn't really answer the very basic questions I have. 4 minutes in, and you answered them all, gonna watch this video completely, when I'm all ready, cause I just know that this video will have all the answer I need. At least before I start the experience.

I know this is an old video but hopefully I can get some answers. Am new to GW2 and i mostly care for PVE content with actual gear rewards not really into cosmetic. Once i hit 80 can I start doing actual PvE content that rewards gear like fractal and then work my way up to raids etc? Or to do fractals i also need to work my way after hitting 80. If so what recommendations can you tell me to focus on for getting better gear in PvE.am not against farming cosmetic but I would do them in between but my focus is getting better gear I guess like in games like WoW where you go from dungeons to mystic raid and they all reward with actual gear that actually makes your character better not just a skin thanks
Sorry for the late reply. I always check every single comment on all my videos, so feel free to ask about anything anytime.
You can absolutely work your way up from scratch using fractals, till you have all your characters in full ascended. And on top of that, you'll end up making a lot of gold in the process. So it is one of the best ways to do exactly what you said.
Start with low levels in Tier 1. Understand the mechanics and don't just rush. Slowly build up your Agony Resistance to be able to do higher Tier of Fractals. Keep doing that till you reach T4, and then you'll really have more ascended than you ever need.

Just one final note. The difference between Exotic Gear and Ascended Gear is not that big. So don't think that you HAVE to be in full ascended before you can do raids. That is simply not true. Ascended gear is mostly needed for higher tiers in Fractals since you must have Agony Resistance, which you can only put in ascended gear.
How does one get into a party if you're not in a Guild? Do you "say" or shout for one?
When you open your Contact List (Hotkey is "Y" by default), look for the tab on the left side that says "Looking for Group". In there you can find many people looking for players to invite to their parties / squads, including fractals. You can also make a post there yourself and look for other players to join you

does fractals ever reset or do you just keep going up forever?
I don't fully understand what do you mean by reset. But you can do fractals anytime you want at any level. The daily and recommended fractals however change everyday at the daily reset

I want to like fratals for the loot lol, but I really dislike the lfg tool and the fact that if you die you cant rez and if no one revives you you may as well leave the party. Terrible design:/
