While I agree that it is a shame most of the content is locked behind ng+ cycles that only that small 2-4% of players will likely see; I would say that small group of players is who they were targeting with this update. With this being the last update to the game (unless they pull a terraria) you can’t really blame them for focusing on adding content and replayability for the diehard fans of the game as opposed to trying to attract new players to a game that won’t be receiving any more updates. Might be odd from a marketing standpoint, but I like that they threw the long time fans a bone on the way out and still made some nice changes/additions for newer or more casual players.
i 100% agree with this comment, i think they largely respect their community by giving an update, not for marketing, but as a thank you for the fans
I think it also gives new players an incentive to reach that endgame point as they know they’ll still have so much more content yo go through
I would rather them make a new map. Maybe a garden or park. Or inside the house. Or daddy long legs that you can use as vehicles.
Kinda would like to see the game have a dlc that is in a city
I wouldnt say "Most of the content" A bit of it. items and whatnot.
I’m at 330 hours and had 100%’d it before the 4 new achievements were added. I’ve put about 30 hours in NG+1 since the update. Will likely do the same and check back later to see if they make the fusion cells WAY less grindy. I did some loose math and there’s no way I’m putting in dozens more hours exclusively just to upgrade weapons to handle stronger bosses. If they lower the cost of maxing gear I’d pick it back up soon for sure.
I’ve put 3 minutes into ng+ and it’s very cool, but it’s loosing the realism of a bug survival game, and its decently hard to get too
@@Spectrum240 I like that the milk molars are all in different spots. I had a lot of fun for that extra 30 hours I put in just running around finding those, opening chests, and casually upgrading my gear. I beat the infused broodmother in a few attempts, but got absolutely destroyed by the mantis, and that’s when I started thinking real hard about whether all this will be worth it. I am a day one vanilla player and would consider myself a veteran of the game but if I’m not even having fun and most people can’t even access this new content it is kind of a bummer for now
Yea, it is a bummer most people can’t see this update, but I really like the molars being in new locations
I hate how you can't upgrade the armor, as well as how you have to NG+ 3 times just for the one and only salty weapon they added to the game
@@TheJoBirdTwitchthe salt chipper isn’t a requirement
Honestly the thing I hate about Grounded is that they treat the balancing like an MP game and every enemy is a sponge even if it doesn’t make sense
Nah just increase difficulty
Lol git gud scrub
I was thinking this until I realized you could upgrade weapons. But bugs are sponges in real life. Those guys can take some damage.
@@blakefenslerjr4858you play on mild stfu
No, you just don't use spears
As someone who is on new game plus 4 i do not reccomend any of yall activate the remix.r unless your 100% sure your THAT GUY.
Which either way you wont be...no matter how hard you try. Basically though this update for javamatic atleast is just a game of random chance.
For the bosses mantis spawns 1 mini mantis and 2 in ng+4 broodmother is just...broodmother, wasp queen is kinda painful.
Mant summons a mini mant that dies eventually. Black widows spawn in the sandbox and at the oak tree. And green shield bugs occasionally spawn where stink bugs spawn. Needless to say this adventure is absolute PAIN. But you can do it if your skilled enough or just completley insane-
If you plug the haze, does it stay plugged in new game plus?
@@bluntlyhonest3157 no.
You have to replug it every time you start ng+
damn so it sounds like NG+4 you should just go swim with the koi fish lmao
@@cayajadyn yea any ng+ in general is hellish to do.
Even on mild q-q
So many of us would have paid money for a DLC that takes you into the house, but they never went that direction.
Missed opportunity, huh?
Just completely unrelated to the story they were going for. Going inside would just not make any sense at any stage of the story or progression.
Check out tinykin
@@ifs-wolves9034 They stated that they want the game to be playable on any device (including PS4, nintendo switch...) and that adding an interior zone such as the shed would destroy fps of low power console.
They went for the "If not everybody can have it, no one will" mentality, which is not good imo
@@mess3878 I'd rather a playable game like it is in its current state then an absolute lag fest due to issues out of our control. The games narrative never once gave us any chance or thought to believe the shed or house would become explorable areas one day. Maybe if they make a sequel I'm sure they'll experiment with the idea but in the games current state inside exploration doesn't belong.
i completly agree. most of the update is done for 1% playerbase. i enjoyed grounded, played many hours. this update will not bring me back. it still was worth every penny.
Agreed, but you have to understand that the update could've doubled the player count with Playstation and switch. The content was a little lacking, and the whole damn update is centered around NG+. I still play the game from time to time, play for a maybe 1-3 months, take a huge break, start a new world with friends and repeat.
The 1% are either very smart or very skilled.
I would know cause im skilled :p
And i still die constantly...and have to deal with stupid javamatic rng.
Basically i like the update but seriously why...

Didnt realize a lot of the new stuff is locked behind new game +. I guess thats a reason to do the final defense challenge and beat the wasp queen. I was just going to start a new save to do the ant queen stuff now it seems to see it all i have to go through it multiple times, which i dont think I will do 4 times lol
to be fair, i think most of the people that never got big (like me) were trying to 100% when all gold cards were necessary for the better ending. i plan to go back into the game and go into NG+ once i have time to devote to it.
Ignore the people who are biased and hate any criticism of the game. Many of us enjoy your honest take on the update.

Most of his videos he likes the content added in general but sometimes what is added doesn't interest him.

I started playing Grounded with two of my buddies a couple of weeks before the Pond update, and since then I've obtained every milk molar, explored every nook and cranny of the map, upgraded all of the equipment I care about to rank 9, and built a magnificent base and a complex zipline network across the yard. My friends got tired of playing over a year ago but I love the game enough to keep playing. Grounded really does feel special to me and I have a lot of positive memories tired to it.
So, while New Game+ sounds fun, the idea of grinding for all the things I've already done all over again is more than enough to convince me to just stick with my completed playthrough, and just go back from time to time. Then again, this is the reason I've never enjoyed New Game+ for any game in the past.
Regardless, I appreciate your takes.
This... this is exactly why I will never see any of the super cool new stuff. Because after hundreds of hours in a game starting over is just so painful. Like do I seriously want to do all of that again to get back to where I already am just to mess with a few new weapons and features? I don't mind an occasional grind to unlock something, but starting over and going through the whole mess four times just to get the "complete" version of the game just seems a little unfair.... I bought the game and paid you your money already, just let me have someway access to all the features I paid for in the first play through. 🤷♂️
ng+ doesn’t get rid of your inventory or buildings.
You don’t really lose anything, all your building will still be there all the zip lines all your gold cards etc it adds more milk molars, infused bugs, and new weapons and armor
@@d100sanityloss7 I really don't see either of these complaints, I'm new to the NG+ just doing the first one, but so far it seems great being able to keep your buildings and items, new mutations on enemies make things spicier, and a few more things to unlock too? If you already have some massive zipline setup you can just speed through to the main parts of the story and there's some new molars to collect along the way. It only seems like more reason to keep playing if you already kept going back on after beating the game, and I read here someone saying here you can just drop the difficulty to the lowest and it'd be easier than the medium one before NG+ if difficulty is a problem.
The problem i had with the update is that the new armor (strategist), centered around a summoner build, doesn't work well. I frequently find myself getting targeted over my summons even though they have "summon aggro," which makes no sense to me. The strategist armor should also always be teir 3, no matter what. It's complete BULLSHIT that you would kill stink bugs, make a gas mask, fight the infected ladybug with teir 2 armor/weapons, and recover the poison recipe. You go back to base to make it and go kill the red ant queen, pumped and ready to test the set that you've been wanting to test forever. You poison the queen and analyze the parts, only to find that it is TIER 1, ARMOR THAT REQUIRED A OVEN, but thats fine because as long as you can block well youll be fine, and the ants "allegedly" get the aggro of the bugs. No, not even close, the ants dont get the aggro, the sleek adds thorns so if you accidentally hit the ant, your fucked and the ant queen septer DOES LESS THAN A LAWN MITE. Thats how it feels.
It also needed a little more variety with the new weapons, because all the stats for the new weapons are the same as previous weapons. That being said, the new weapons look REALLY good, just needing variety.
It's also a problem because almost every is a copy
Spicy edge = pepper flake
Pucker thumper = picklemaul
Fresh edge = fresh flake
Sour katanga = tingle tongue
Fresh coldtana = breathslayer
Both spicy club weapons are the same (I forgor the names 💀)
The only unique weapon is the salt chipper and the vast majority of the new candy weapons are pointless to get unless you are a completionest and it still isn't worth it with how hard I hear ng+ is
I only have experience with the new weapons in the grassbox bc I just killed the mantis and with how much I struggled on it I'm definitely not ready for the WQ lest alone the IBM but it doesn't really seem worth it and this is honestly the worst last update I have ever seen (not insulting the work the devs did but compared to the rest of the game its extremely disappointing to me
I know this video is 4 months old, but the sad thing is. I will never get the ng+ achievements because I have keep inventory on. I hate dying under water or in the under shed, and I can't get back there and time, so all my gear just gets deleted
Imagine growing a channel with tons of grounded gameplay and tips and never doing NG+ .
devs' issue.
Imagine doing nothing but having an opinion when someone’s does do something
He just knows the "effort" he spends doing all of NG+ only a small minority will actually care or "benefit" from it. Anyone with a brain would use wiki either way.
Only thing i wanna point out is that the percentages isnt guaranteed to be accurate because if you play a custom game you lose access to achievements, like i got my achievements all from my own personal save but my dad hasnt gotten most of the achievements cause our shared world a custom world... so while probably not by that much, the number of players trying it out is probably bigger
I loved this game, but I loathe base defense...and that is what the end of this game became. After building my base, I didn't feel like building more just to "win the game" from the attacking horde. It felt like this game had much much more potential, and it was just rushed at the end.
The tower defense garbage they added really ruined the game. I get that it makes sense for this… but it’s not needed. It detracts from the game.
Being a developer is such a thankless job. Can never make everyone happy.
@@NotCharAznable It's not a dev's job to make everyone happy. In fact, many games of late have failed miserably because of the never-ending, impossible to complete quest of "please the minority". If devs just made a good game and stopped trying to please everyone, they'd find their gold mine.
You can turn that off 😂😂
@@sharkbaitoohhahha Are you talking about the Embiggening waves or more base attacks? I did that before doing the Moldorc castle which in-game it sounded like it'd be easier waves if you found their hideout and did that first. But also you don't really have to build, if you never went back and did it I just threw 2-3 mushroom walls infront of the cords so that's really all you need to build and then just repair those walls after each time they go for one instead of being unable to repair the wires themselves.
one bad thing that happened to me is i went to new game plus before i got the mint mace and once your in new game plus the recipe gets replaced with a chest so i cant get it now
I don't mind the update being focused on people who have unlocked it. My biggest issue is how unbelievably grindy New Game+ is. It takes forever to upgrade weapons and it boils down to fighting thousands upon thousands of ants and termites. It's painfully repetitive.
I agree that most stuff should be available in base game and then all the NG+ stuff should be available in the first NG+ (not NG+2,3 or 4), because like you said, many people won't get to experience the stuff that has been added in later NG+'s... and that's due to multiple reasons: just to name a few bigger one's - majority of player base isn't that good at this game to go past NG+1 and those who are, might not be willing to grind as hard as it's required right now just to get a new weapon or two... at the end of the day most people want to enjoy the game, not be forced to repeat it multiple times just to unlock a few things here or there and make the game even harder, which their skill level might not be a match to...
I like the most of the games art style, story notes, enemy designs. Many enemy attack motions are the same; basically they rubber band and track your character's motion (read controller input?). It is hard to get behind them, though left to right jukes for example on flying enemies work. I use forward to back feints on small spiderlings to make them think I am going to hit them, then mix up my strikes. I do wish there was better mapping for underground levels, for example putting trail marker and not getting a message telling me I can not.
Grounded lost me when they borked the upgrade system. Use to be my favourite game but limiting upgrade rocks, making it bad for players who upgrade pebblet weapons later on. I want every weapon to be able to upgrade 100%. It's even worse in 4x multiplayer.
Then the extreme grind for candies, armor upgrades became a chore. Valheim spoiled me because I can't go back to a game where I have to keep interrupting ehat I'm doing because I now have to go off and hit rocks or kill a bug because my tool broke. Can't stand durability in games that interrupt your exploration
They fixed the problem with being able to upgrade the weapons a while back. I have one of every weapon (from the base game) leveled all the way up on them all. So no matter what I might need I've got one at it's peek. One of every set of armor fully leveled up as well...lol
I mean most weapons that are difficult or tedious to repair generally aren't that difficult to repair due to the ability to make the tier 1-5 upgrades easy and then I believe you can just use repair glue which is really easy to get
@@zaraw69 how did they fix it?
When did you start playing? Old saves you likely have excess of everything but new saves you will not. My pre 1.0 save I maxed everything as well but my 1.0 save I only had one or two weapons maxed and one armor set.
@@MediocreMilton I started playing since the open beta then bought the game on release. I'd usually restart every new biome that was added. Ended up having heaps of saves that I just deleted
I'm just in ng+1 because I have two milk molars left to get. unfortunately one of them is still unlocated and the other is spawned inside the green garden hose between the house and the trash heap. am currently waiting for help from obsidian on that second one because it is currently unreachable and has happened to other people in their yards as well
My hubby and I have just reached NG+4 and, I get it, the bugs are supposed to be super hard now because they're infused and all that BS, but the balancing is absolutely TERRIBLE.
I would understand if we could upgrade our armours past lvl 9 in the yoking station, but I have my Acid Edge now at lvl 15 and it's barely touching the bosses that can 1-2-3 hit me faster than I can react.
I absolutely ADORE this game. It's my comfort game.
But the addition of NG+ has really put a damper on that for me, and I hate it.
With no Public Test Server there were bound to be balancing issues and like you said you can't upgrade your armor past level 9 or weapons past level 15 but the bugs can scale infinitely and I guess NG+ 4 is where you hit the point where you can't keep up.
I am less than 1% away from 100% the game, but I can’t because it requires the Red Baby Ant, Black Baby Ant, and Fire Baby Ant creature cards, which I already killed all of them. Now I can’t 100% the game until NG+2 (I infected the Red Ant Queen.) They need to fix this.
i believe you have to give the normal food to the queens in your normal game, then the poisoned one in NG+1, and then the infected one on NG+2, and i believe this makes everything in the yard infected in NG+3. unfortunately if you went another route it’s not gonna work out the way it was “designed” to. hopefully they fix it for you!
The update is a little buggy though because I was getting raided by wasps and the last wasp was actually invincible, but it was still able to be stunned but not killed
Yea that kept happening to me I’ve got raided like 3 or 4 times and the last enemy was always invincible. Does anyone know a way around this???
@@calebwoods604 I just kept re loading the save until it was kill able
Didn't realise the content was so gated, could understand it being behind one ng+ playthrough like most other games but to have to go through it 4 times to get it all O_o; It would have to get easier rather than grindier and currently I'm seeing a lot of grind comments. Friends and I loved the base game, we struggled with the infectred broodmother and a large shout of joy went out when we defeated her finally... but this... yeah dunno lol.
I appreciate its not dlc. I justbtrally want the dev team to understand its not about profiting on every move, but i strongly agree with this vode9 creator. I got this to play with my gf younger brother, we broke up, and i ended up playing the game and enjoying it as an adult. It's a great game.
You don't "literally" want this. Learn English.
@@guywhite5039lol hey friend
I agree with you 100% why put soo much time and effort into something that a lot of people won’t even get to see? They should keep adding to the base game honestly.
The thing I hate with ng+ in such games is that all the work I've spent on my builds disappear. Wish you could carry more stuff over, namely your builds - somehow lol.
Your builds and all items carry over to each NG+.
People still asking to go inside the house....
There's a playgrounds map, called "Welcome to your tiny home", and someone has pretty much made a full scale house, complete with a bathroom and kitchen etc.
As amazingly detailed as it is, going inside the house would be boring as hell...way too many open spaces. I'm glad the devs decided not to go down that path.
So one problem with using achievements to track percents. On custom rules you don't earn achievements. I haven't gotten a single one.
All new content locked behind new game + is a big no from me. Basically nothing new added then for base game.
The game genuinely needs to be one of those games like Minecraft where’s there’s an update every so often that adds new stuff
With any new update the devs are definitely gonna fix it where it’s balanced so I feel this. I do enjoy the update though just definitely needs some work but it’s fine. 💯
What lol. 99% of people wont see endgame of any game. Thats the point. Games wouldn’t exist if they just gave people endgame gear essentially just for logging in. That’s the whole “playing the game” part of playing a game.
I would like to point out that people who play in custom gamemode will not receive achievements. I play on custom to gain access to the helpful gnat, which causes me to not receive achievements. Also, keep in mind the percentages of people that have analyzed 15 resources or have cooked a bug on a roasting spit. These achievements only have 25.49% and 24.24% respectively. This probably means that either 75% of people have barely played the game or play in creative/custom. So, this update is probably geared toward the players that still play the game after all of this time. They want to retain the players they have. Again, to back these claims, we would have to look at data that probably only the developers have access to.
I've done polls in the past and a very small number of people said they were playing in custom mode. The low percentages are because most people tried the game and stopped playing very quickly.
@@MediocreMilton trying the game and stopping play quickly soon after- they likely wouldn't be coming back for this content even if it weren't locked behind NG+. They didn't even get far enough for this stuff to matter. So really your opinion about this is just a matter of taste. And like you said in the video, you don't really enjoy NG+ modes. I normally don't enjoy them either- I'm not big on extra challenge for no reward. But there's some content there to entice me. So I'm hoping to enjoy the extra challenge because it won't just be for the sake of it. 🤷♂️ idk maybe my opinion will change when I get there
@@MediocreMilton I'd venture to say that your polls cannot provide sufficient data to make these assumptions off of. I cannot imagine that the people who participated in your polls make up anywhere close to the majority of the player base. If anything it only shows that you take the opinions of a few people and assume it must apply for the rest.
@@uzendayo
Exactly. TH-cam polls mean absolutely nothing.
@@uzendayo Yeah, those youtube polls are going to be skewed towards people that are already invested in the game simply due to the channel's demographics. Definitely won't be properly representative of the entire playerbase. May still be a useful litmus for the specific demographic though.
i just got this for ps5 and the multiplayer part is complete broken cant join or host anything and my connection is fine since im hardwired.and in the latest patch notes they dont mention the multiplayer issues only microsoft sign-in and other bug fixes
This is one of a few games I wish I can experience for the first time again. This is why I highly recommend it for anyone whose never played it before. I'm not sure what the full price is right now, but I would definitely say it's worth $30 on all platforms, if not more.
I haven't gotten very far in Grounded (I played it for a bit in 2020, tried to play it a bit more in 2022 I believe, then came back recently in 2024 after the "Final Update", and I'm only done with the hedge and pond labs.)
But the New Game+ feature reminds me of Borderlands from what I am hearing. Basically, you beat the game *once* in normal difficulty where level 35 or so is the max that most people would reach. Then you have the ability to head to the main menu and change the difficulty with the same character and the same equipment.
All the enemies are boosted up to match your level, and some enemies either are completely new to the game or to the location they are found. (For example, you can only find Angelic Guards in one area of the normal game, but they can appear in any location where Loaders usually spawn in True Vault Hunter Mode)
Once you get through TVHM at around level 50 or so, you get Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, up to a max of 72 levels with all the DLCs which boost the max level cap. Even harder enemies, slag is much more powerful, weapons can be switched quicker to incentivize using slag, and so on.
So in short. Most people would only play Borderlands *once* since nothing really gets locked behind the upper difficulties in terms of "meaningful" content or achievements, but you do have the choice of starting over with all your equipment in a harder world. Same missions, same story, same sidequests, some new enemies, some old (Albeit, renamed) enemies in new locations, and so on. Sound familiar?
im a bit late but a big reason for the percentage rates on the achievements is because alot of people (including me) adjust the settings of the game to make it more enjoyable, which disables achievements.
Not true. I did polls in the past and every time only about 3% of the votes were for custom only. Most people play on the default difficulty setting and don't mess with custom settings.
@@MediocreMilton really? Thats interesting, so 50% of people just didnt play the game?
Not surprising with it being on GamePass. A lot of people try games on GamePass and quit very quickly.
@@MediocreMiltonmost people don’t have the attention span for games like this. They need rocket league, Fortcrap and Black Ops
I finally reached the end of NG+ 1 but that's because it took forever to finish the base game. If you are going to 100% the game, get all the trinkets, the boss trinkets, boss weapons, boss armor, boss weapons, and ant queens, then you are probably going to do that before going into NG+.
After beating NG+ 1, I really don't see myself playing after getting every achievement. If I do, I won't be any time soon.
They should have just added something like the ant queens all over the map guarding key locals that contain the new update items or schematics for the items. They could have even made boss versions of most of the enemies in the game that just simply have a chance of spawning kind of like the infused bugs but instead of dropping raw science they drop again schematics that belong to the new update, new game+ should have cool items that belong to each new game plus like how they did but not that many.. it should have been 16 for base game then 4, 4, 4, 4. each new game should add an armor set and weapon that you can show off to your friends NOT tools and upgrade stations and the like. That is definitely something you do not want to lock most players out of. Keep it to strong armor and weapons that YOU DO NOT NEED or at least feel like you don't need because technically we don't need the upgrade station and other nicks and knacks but it's very crappy telling newer and even older players you have to reset in order to see anything new... Yes, you keep most of your stuff and bases but having to replay the story 4+ times to see everything WILL get repetitive. If you think moving enemy's locals and amping up their dmg and speed will help it won't, it will actually make it worse. Not only are you moving all key items to different places you are also making enemies take longer to kill which means yeah you have all your items, but they mean jack and it will now take you a similar amount of time to get everything done due to taking longer to deal with things and maybe even dying over and over trying to get used to the new speed and dmg of enemies. In all not a good idea by the devs to lock amazing content by beating their game repeatedly. Die hards exist but not even close to the casual player count.. Hope they change it and do what I said cuz yeah kinda bs lol.
Every raid since the update the last bug is invincible and you have to just block it till it times out
Personally, just by the sounds of it, all new game + really needs to be quite good would be new bosses, like for example at ng+1 a hole in the fence appears, that has a new type of enemy and a new boss, similar to the brawny boy bin, just so that you actually have an objective to strive to, like don't get me wrong ng+ seems like great end game content, but when you're getting better gear to kill the same bosses its obvious that it would get boring after a while
I feel ppl forget this is up to 4 players and trying to solo the game puts you at a disadvantage
Completely agree with everything you said. This update is only meant for certain people, hardcore and determined. I am at NG +5 in the amount of pain it took to get to that point is ridiculous. No new players ever going to hit that unless they balance the game. Tier 4 IS NOT worth it, I have all of them and they are mid at best. I prefer the Acid Edge or Sour battle Axe anyways.
My Build For those interested:
Sour Battle Axe or Acid Edge LvL 15
Broodmother helm 9 Sleek
Red Fire Ant Chest 9 Sleek
Assassin Legs lvl 9 Sleek
Trinket is rng but use Crit Damage Best, Sour Damage Best and Vamprism. (Depends on scenario!)
Mutations- Chopper, Coup de grass, Trapper Peep.R, Cardio Fan and Meat shield. (Also Depends on Scenario)
Personal Recommendation is to put on dissection Expert, active luck bonus on mount and grab a loot luck trinket for maximum profit.
The achievements isn't a fair comparison or judge when they can only be earned on standard story mode. Anyone using custom/creative or adjusted game settings are locked out of them.
The one question I do have.
For the achievements, I wonder how many people did the stuff but were playing in a custom game?
My friend and I were playing in a custom game because the only thing we change were turning off friendly fire. We just didn’t wanna deal with it. We’re almost done with pre 1.4 content, and don’t have any achievements.
But I think the achievements are still something to go for. I know a lot of friends who started the game but didn’t play much. So it makes sense that not many have gotten big
i agree that it is sad that a lot of people will not get to see how awesome this update was, but i didn’t get to play grounded until the fully yoked update, i had watched it and wanted to play but never got around to it. as someone who wanted to play and was thrown so much new content, its hard for me not to enjoy it! i am excited to try the new game + modes because i get to keep everything i’ve been working on, and the creatures of the yard change ever so slightly. i’m excited to see how it plays out!
Me and my friends tried out new game plus be we never got the achievements because we used recover backpacks whenever we died somewhere annoying in the beginning and we still use it too.
Recovering backpacks doesn't disable achievements.
i appreciate all his constructive criticism on his videos bad or not it makes it easier to understand the contents details
Need Grounded 2 in a new place...
I play on my xbox and I think new game + is pretty cool with all the new weapons, stronger enemies, etc. The sad part is that I want to be able to get all golden cards in the world I play, but as it gets harder, I doubt I'll be able to do that with the more difficult Infected Broodmother. Where I really dislike this update is that there should've been an even amount of candy weapons made. That being said, you should not have to new game + 3 SEPARATE TIMES, just for the sake of a SINGLE salty weapon. The grounded devs made too amny of the other candy weapons, or rather not enough salty. I also feel like the game in general, if you play alone like I do when I stream on twitch, it will just simply be too difficult. On new game + 1 I have to restart the battle sometimes due to bad spawning luck, or due to the fact I forgot to mention earlier, you can't even upgrade your armor past level nine. I feel like some things should've been thought through a little harder for the people who play solo, or wanted a new version for every candy weapon, without new game + 3 total time at least.
Honestly? The remixed yard is a really great content update, especially since they added other candy variations of most of the weapons. The ant queen system could be better, but overall the remixed yard is a nice breath of fresh air after so long of no significant grounded updates. That being said, dont think you HAVE to play it just because you were a grounded youtuber.
I haven't played NG+ yet but I get why they have kept the new content behind it. Especially for alot of us who have done most (if not all) of the original content. New players still experience the fun provided from the base game. However I think when you have finished the game with all the bosses you are experienced enough to jump back into new game plus with all the content and extra weapons simply to enjoy more grounded content. I do however think that having play multiple NG+ for content is crazy.... difficulty increase is fine for people into that
Grounded is honestly one of the best games iv played in years. I just got it during this last update so I haven't seen it develop but I love this game I'd recommend 100% lighthearted silly story cool mechanics and unique take on a survival game
I have a couple of problems with it but the main one is raids are buggy and makes bugs invincible or invisible but we kinda solved it in ng+ by making the base on the big tree but other than that its just some cosmetic stuff about the armor and that there is no full wizard set and no salt stafd and the ant staff doesn't get the buff from wizard mutation but that one im more ok with
The bugs are just too strong in NG+. I actually used a trainer to get me through the default NG+ and get the pressure off me to get the achievements. Now I can simply jump back to the world use custom settings.
I remember watching your fortnite STW videos back in the day and am glad I found you again been loving this game but was wondering why i barely saw anything change with the recent update this video makes total sense very informative
Looking at the % of achievements is a bit silly in my opinion because ALOT of kids play this game with custom settings which you can't get achievements on
If we were looking at total # of achievement earners I'd agree. Since it's a percentage and custom settings don't make you more likely to beat the game, if they were included in the sample size, the percentage should be about the same.
@@cleanshowcases7752 a clear and logical reply to a comment on TH-cam!? Imagine my surprise lol
The game is ridicilously unbalanced. That's why I play on custom mode.
@@onlyrealjunkyard We must be playing different games if you're struggling with this. At most I'd say it's on par with...Viva piñatas.
How has no one told this man that if you go custom mode. The achievements are disabled. Even if you change that your bad stays on you.. you disable achievements..
Cdinky just got to new game plus x today and he has speed run the whole thing it’s quite amazing
i think you also have to realize that a lot. and i mean a LOT of people will buy the game play 10 minutes, and never toich it again and that can really mess with the achievements percentage
I can appreciate this video. I just started this game this week and can see where this game flopped. I think your analogy with the paintings is spot on with this game, it’s a great game and update it’s just that it came so late that you can’t expect the entirety of the original fan base and new players to flood in after so much time has passed w/o anything new. Overall great game though, I’m having a blast with it.
I think the only update I would want or maybe news is that we can go in the house a new game plus is only good for for so much after that it has diminishing returns
thats weird, i playing the same beta file an i beat everything figured it should be higher, if u need proof, i can show, i have the mint mallet b4 it required a level , an the game STILL asks me to buy it but i still have my OG mint
What I truly think they need to fix is the horrendous multiplayer in the game on Xbox and PlayStation
The only thing i wish was in this update was more playground stuff
Just finished Grounded last night working towards the achievements. I’m glad I’m done with the game to be honest. Too many hours were put in before they had some good content. The infused bugs just on NG 1 were way overpowered especially for the JavaOMatic. I did find myself enjoying the game again running around looking at all the cool stuff I wanted to built, but stopped due to the amount of resources you needed. I had to wall up the upper yard just for the Java battle. Getting the Crystals to upgrade the weapons is a joke in my opinion.
I wish the ant queens would allow you to feed them again and they would respawn because having to start a new game+ is just terrible
Im Never going to ever get the killing the ant queen items because im not planning on doing any new game+
I wish there was like a custom game configuration that allows them to respawn and give them more food
of course the numbers are better on steam, grounded is on game pass, even core! realize theres more people installing the game, giving it a try for 15 minutes and then never touching it again than people who actually played the game. Those count towards the achievements.
The combat in grounded is just bad, at least solo. The heavy reliance on the parry mechanic is lazy. The enemy lock on is BS and keeps them far too close when your being attacked, and keeps them too far away when you try to attack. The health bars are ridiculous. All this is from playing on mild where the only difference between normal and mild is the bugs don't do as much damage but still tank 6-15 hits with a "weak to" damage type.
The progression seems cool. The combat has pushed me away and I'm not sure I'll ever try it again.
? If you don't like the parry mechanic you don't have to do it, there's a ladybug armor set that lets you heal just by blocking and makes blocking stronger, and a trinket somewhere later that makes it ridiculously stronger too. Arrows are also pretty busted against most enemies outside of bosses as you can jump atop so much of the grass or weeds to safely snipe them , but if you already didn't like it on mild then that might not make a difference.
Yikes. I'd recommend getting good at the game if these are your only complaints so far 💀🙏🏼
Bro quit after losing a fight to a Weevil
The achievements arnt a reliable source for how many people had gone to new game+, some people play on custom game mode (like me because i dont want my pets constantly dying) and have accessed and done newgame+
Most people don't play on custom especially on their first playthrough. I've done polls in the past and the overwhelming majority said they played normal survival only or survival/custom. This game suffers from the GamePass effect where a lot of people try it and most of them quit after an hour or two (at most). When you can try a game for "free" you are far less likely to stick with it than if you pay for it.
Looking for the achievements on Xbox is a bad comparison point, because this game is on GamePass. The statistics are scewed so much.
I completely agree that most of this new update will never be seen. Which is a weird decision in my view, but I can probably see where the devs are coming from. Now that the development of Grounded is concluded the devs are ok with not getting a lot of new players. This is the final sendoff for new content in the game and it caters heavily torwards players who stuck around all this time. It gives a lot to do after you've beaten the game and has built all of the ziplines you can Imagine.
I would've liked all of the new shiny stuff in the base game as well, but lets be honest - the base game is a great experience on its own.
The new player will probably be content with what's been given to them and maybe even enjoy some playgrounds. And devs also showed a lot of consideration will veteran bored players, congratulating them on sticking around and giving so much more stuff to do
Really glad u don't have to beat the infected brood mother for new game plus. This video is very informative and I am actually more excited to keep playing the game
We still wanna watch u play it, you can show us the stuff we won’t ever see…
I have just beaten the undershed and I'm hesitant on ng plus because I'm ok with it being a little harder but I heard the infused are ruthless and id rather it not be.
I do have some dislikes about the new game bosses sometimes they get insanely overpowered buffs such as the staff power ups, which are completely broken as the sour and the spicy are the most overpowered they do tons of damage and it’s really hard to avoid them if you’re in the middle of attacking another thing I dislike is that the health is insanely high for said bosses and if they have those ridiculous power ups, that means that you could lose all of your progress, even if it was at one HP because it got one hit off you and you got Wambo combo that’s really the only thing that I dislike and I guess the amount of infused ooze I get, but that’s really not something that is hard to get when you can just go to the ant hills
Edit: I just realized how much I wrote💀
Yap
Me personally... and I feel like I'm the only one. I'm just not interested in the NG+... Doesn't really tickle my mind to wanna try out.
You are not alone as evidenced by the lack of people coming back to the game. None of my friends that play survival games and put hundreds of hours into Grounded came back for NG+.
I just remixed so i have only seen so much but i will recommend going to the red ant hill with a spicy coltona and you can find a few infused ants so have a good time
I`m on new game plus still no achievements have popped up.PC
yeah same here, hopefully they fix the achievements soon
Having to go through the story 5 times to get everything is just stupid. New game plus should have just be once and let you get everything.
a lot of people like me havent completed t he game trying to get all the dumb gold cards .ive done everything but gone big and a few gold cards. really wish they had a mutation to get gold cards easier .
Gold cards aren’t needed for the 100% report card anymore
I have played almost 1k hours solo in grounded i enjoyed it so much as a game preview but was highly upset when the final update came out and to see it was only about 10 hrs of gameplay and this update took so long the game didn’t have the replay value to keep up with;fornite, the finals etc. i think this update made the game to my opinion worse it is interesting however i don’t want to play the story mode 5 more times before i get the lvl 4 armor they have teased for almost a year
Still no crossplay. Waiting on that because my homie has the game finally on his PS5 but yesterday we found out its all bugged.
I lost interest in the game when they kept releasing sandbox stuff instead of more content put into the map. And now I'm just seeing that they finally released tier 4 weapons gear as well as levels beyond 9. Sadly I just don't care now.
Tier 4 weapons are all locked behind NG+ 4 so you would need to complete the story 3 more times just to get the chance to unlock them. I'm in the same boat as you. Maybe they make a sequel with an expanded map sometime in the future?
I like the honest takes on the update. My wife and I are very excited for it since we haven't played it in awhile and it's gonna be very fulfilling after beating the Wasp Queen since we haven't beat her yet😂. Go right into NG+ and get whooped by some more difficult enemies 😂. I also appreciate the information on the update, helps me relay the info to her easier😁
Playing custom game disables achievements which is what most people do
As an adult player that has 3 hours a week to play, I feel sad because i know i will never play the ng+. :/
I just started playing I played the beta an beat it but coming back this it’s pretty goooood
I take a break and this comes…. I found out how to kill the infected broodmother with ease and when I do I take a break as… cmon that fight takes so much out of me 😂😂
Now I’m stoked to see what this all has to offer, my grounded is updating. Gonna hopefully get back into the grind.
Looks like it’s time to load up creative and just give myself all the weapons and stuff for ng plus and play regularly
This guy has to be the most unhappy man on TH-cam the game is the best it could be they have plans for another game
I enjoy his takes. As an avid player of grounded I like to hear an unbiased voice among the crowd. I love the update but I’m having major trouble in NG3 on mild so it does need some balances.
@@boxeddog I do agree but this guy always has something to say about grounded it annoys me bc the devs are trying there best and I get u I’m on ng+2 on woah and I’m struggling major I can’t even kill the broodmother anymore
I said nothing negative in the video. Did you even watch it? 🤣
@@MediocreMilton no I did watch it I just mean in the past but if I’m being honest I’m just biased to grounded so I hate criticism but in my eyes it’s perfect and I see others saying the same thing
Criticism makes things better as long as there are solutions to the problems. I have always provided solutions to the things I criticized. Whether the devs agree with the criticism is up to them.
So while major updates are done the game still has a long way to go before its complete. Maybe the next update could have better weapons or armor.
This is the final content update. They said that when they announced this update. Any updates in the future are going to be bug fixes or maybe some balance changes.
@@MediocreMiltonGame studios or whatever they are say this all the time. Unless they've announced a sequel or that they're working on another game and moving on then future content is still possible.
so i dont know what happened but i may have accidentally glitched the handy gnat in my survival i went on creative mode made a new world then loaded into my survival save then bam i had the handy gnat i dont know if they added this feature but i now have access to the handy gnat and it says on custom settings its off so i think there is a working glitch to get the handy gnat in everyones survival worlds
Once you hit ng plus 1 you automatically gain access to the handy gnat, survival or custom
All i wanted was a BOSS so i can get new weapons and amour something related to beetles
I end up stop playing games or not even play them when I've already watched a youtuber play but I've been playing grounded before there was a koi pond and plan on continue playing
Eh. To be honest I agree 100% but what I think hurts even more is the missed opportunity with the weapons. The variety in style and execution of these weapons could have been amazing. They fumbled the ball with that completely. If I wanted three different sour battleaxes, I would’ve said so.
Am on my way to new game + but I’m still doing labs
I can understand some of your points and agree with you on them. I cannot agree with you on any feedback you have provided based on achievements. There are way to many factors to tace into account. Some people take their time with the game. this game has a big focus on building bases. that takes time. Most of my enjoyment of the game comes from me building bases. getting those achievements you talk about takes time and a lot of people might not want to rush the game. Also there are a lot of people who make changes to the settings that disable achievements. one example being the handy gnat, or turning off friendly fire. Therefor I believe it is unfair to draw any conclusions based on achievements gained by people. I also cannot agree with you on your analogy of the painting being displayed in a back dark hallway. The developers did something that a lot of game devs are too scared to do. they focused on content for people who are going to stick with their game and play it beyond completion. Every other game dev focuses on making content to generate new sales of the game. I think them taking the time to make content for after the endgame is an amazing thing. Not every update needs to focus on the new player. I could actually care less about new players. Focusing more on late game content is the way to go. I also don't really agree with the views of people who provide feedback on things they haven't experienced first hand. I don't really think you're at a point where you can provide feedback since you haven't played the update. Sure you can get a general idea of what is there by watching other people play, but experiencing the game first hand is a different story. I'd be interested in hearing your feedback only after you have experienced the update for yourself. Having played the update a little too much, I can agree that there are some changes that do need to be made, but looking at the update as a whole I'd have to say this is a huge win for Grounded.
I couldn’t imagine typing all of that to cope with the fact that people play custom games to avoid mechanics. Why don’t they make the mechanics being avoided less annoying?
@@bipolarexpress9827 the point I am trying to make is that this guy has no idea what he is talking about. admits he hasn't even played the update yet he's full of so many opinions on it. providing "facts" that support his theories. Everyone in the grounded community clowns on this guy because he's a joke.
