The best thing about 60's plymouths is their blunt aggresive body style. Big block, tons of torque, its like blacksmiths hammer!

I had a 72 Dart Swinger 225 slant 6 in the same yellow in1985. My dad and I put a Clifford dual exhaust and 4 bbl intake. The head was ported and polished with 177 intakes and 144 exhaust valves. We bought the biggest lift and duration cam that we could find. My dad put a Dana 60 rear end in it that had stock gears from a 383 car. It sounded like a bunch of firecrackers going off. It was a fun build. Happy anniversary to you and your wife. Much love from Rockford Illinois.

That Charger 500 is starting to look real sweet man so I guess Eugene will be one happy man as Rodger and his team are doing a fantastic job. George your filming of Nick putting the Belvedere through its paces was pretty awesome to sit back and watch, thanks guys for yet another top video.

About 30 years ago a friend and I tracked down the owner of a 66 belvedere, it was a 383 auto, radio/heater delete car. My friend bought the car. The deal was, if he was ever to sell the car I was to get first dibs buying g it from him. He called me one day, says, guess what. I knew right away, he sold the car and didn't tell me, he let the car go for $1500 which was a steal even at that time. Love the 66/67 Satelite/Belvedere/GTX. The Charger is looking incredible Nick👌

Wow, cool! I remember seeing that '66 Plymouth Belvedere up on the rack and was wondering when it would be featured on the show. My first car was an Arctic White '66 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hardtop with red interior (with 273 V8, auto. trans., it ran great and was built like a tank!) I miss that car... Happy Anniversary to Nick and his wife! Love the show, Mopar or no car!

Although Eugene's is a Dodge it still jogs fond memories of days with my Plymouth and the other mussel cars where I grew up and played. I'm sure Eugene well up with pride when he sees it again (for the first time). Happy Anniversory Mr. and Misses Panaritis.

Hi Nick, I was 16 years old in 1969 and worked at a Pontiac dealer. I saw cars with whitewalls on one side and blackwalls on the other side, even saw a Pontiac with a complete Chevy interior. I guess assembly lines then and now aren't perfect. : ) I guess that's why the back-up lights on the Charger were messed up. P. S. Love your channel.

I would like Nick to say he will build a engine for your "CAR" To clear things up, #1. You have to send proof showing YOU have owned for 10 years or more. #2. Nick will work with you on your design, on the dyno. #3. You may buy one and only one ticket for $10 dollars. Let,s be fair,. #4. Nick will have the car put back into street driven Quiality., as needed. Not show quality. Yes Nick will work with you. Elegible cars are mopar, 1950 to 1990. All engines.
What engine will be built, Slant 6, A, B,RB,Hemi. ?

The old 833 gearbox was notorious for having a long through at the shifter. especially when the forks got wear on them, but they were still tuff transmissions.

    1969 Charger was my FAVORITE YEAR...HEMI OR 440...EVEN A 383...PISTOL GRIP 4 SPEED(Which if I owned one would have either a 5 spd or 6 spd O/D tranny...yup...lovely paint...MAN THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

I think the car is more special knowing that those back up lights are not quite the same and they came out of the factory that way, kind of like an imperfection in a coin to me and makes it more valuable because it’s a story.

My 66 Belvedere had 383 4 speed silver with white interior. This one may not win a beauty contest but it will make you smile with the pull off the line.

Forty years ago I had a '64 Dodge 440 with a '71 Police Interceptor 440 with 727 reverse manual, 3500 stall, it too was a "torque monster."

I was eight years old when that 66 rolled off the line. By the time I was twenty and spending time in the local wreaking yards , they were filled with cars just like this one. If I knew then what I know now.

Shifter throw on this Plymouth reminds me buses in eastern europe in the 80s. Dash to seat? Impressive. Now I know where “rowing thru gears” saying comes from.

The shifter in the Belvedere sure has a lot of play.

    • @pauldionne1665
      @pauldionne1665 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That's because of the length of the handle. It gives the look of sloppy shifts but if the original shifter was there it would look much tighter smoother and easier. Still a very cool SLEEPER 66.

1966 Plymouth Belvedere? My sister is a '66 vintage and I'm a '68 - so she should have the Belvedere and I should have a '68 Charger, lol!! Seriously though, I love the old paint and vinyl top on that car. It "looks" like the Plymouth equivalent of the '66 Dodge Coronet, but I could be wrong about that.
