If you are wondered why there are different locomotives in Brno compared to Prague - the southern part of Czechia (including Brno) uses a 25 kV AC overhead power line while northen part of Chechia (including Prague) uses 3 kV DC overhead line. At the time of this video there weren't too much dual-voltage locomotives as there are today. You can do a simple distinction - green locomotive = DC, red locomotive = AC, blue locomotive = DC + AC.
Neskutečný mazec - Os vlaky s elektrickými lokomotivami i u 5./6. nástupiště = ještě bez průjezdného modelu. Laminátky, kredence, panťáky... zrovna rok 1997 byl prvním rokem, kdy jsme (tehdy s mámou) hodně cestovali ve vlacích, a vcelku dost právě přes Brno. A těch zajímavostí i zvukově - viz "rychlík" zastavující v Rousínově a Lulči, Os vlak z Brna až do H. Brodu. Samozřejmě spojů daleko méně (ale obvykle s většími soupravami), na taktovou a integrovanou dopravu ještě bylo potřeba nějaký ten rok počkat. Zasloužený like.
Thanks for this video - I'm from Brno, born in 1999, so this makes me very nostalgic. I used to go trainspotting at this exact spot at Brno Hlavní nádraží with my dad when I was a toddler. I remember almost all of those trains, my favorite was the bright blue locomotive with yellow stripe. Also the voice of the train announcement I remember very well, today different female voice is used and English announcement is included.
This is awesome!!!! Thanks for it! I was 5 years old in 1997 and live in Brno, so it's real nostalgia for me :) And look at those interesting train sets! For example just at the beginning: 2:20 - loco 750 063-0 inter-regional train with 2 regional coaches which would be uncoupled in the next station 3:06 - two jointed train sets leading loco 363 161-1 (probably to Bohumín) and in the middle loco 750 119-0 Then coaches are still (in majority) in dark green with gray roof scheme (in 5:30 there is trainset with coaches in newer scheme - green stripe on white background, which is now obsolete too as Czech Railways switched to Najbrt scheme in two tones of blue and gray) 6:14 - shunting loco 708 010-4 (class 708 was used on Brno station even few years ago, maybe even now) 12:33 - again 708 010-4 with trainset mixed of passenger and freight wagons (which is rare to see. Even more rare on this station as Brno has dedicated corridor for cargo trains on the south so they are not passing Brno hlavní nádraží but goes to Brno dolní nádraží) 13:52 - really nice color scheme on loco 749 051-9 14:43 - 830 207-7 still used for passengers 16:58 - I don't know what this mixture is :D but interesting with really nice loco 750 022-6 pushing And in 18:13 accelerating loco 350 012-1 owned by Slovak railways leading international train with modern coaches 19:40 - beautiful loco 263 002-8 in red-yellow scheme 32:04 - electric unit 560 005 35:51-38:00 - extremely rare footage of postal train set shunting (nice blue cargo wagons with the yellow trumpet logo) - there was a post office with its own rails 44:06 - freight train set made up of literally every car of a different type :D and since 52:13 view on the other side of station building - some repair of the street, trams passing (Tatra K2 #1112, in 53:00 Tatra T3 #1503 + Tatra T3 #1505, 53:30 Tatra K2 #1110, Tatra KT8D5 #1708, Tatra T6 #1219 + Tatra T6 #1220, 54:40 Tatra KT8D5 in Starobrno livery :D, and then again T3+T3 or K2)
WOW What a magnificent host of wealthy and valuable information you have given....It is so appreciated and what amazing accounts you have kept over all this time...So many thanks and best regards to you .....Brno is such a lovely place and was then too......Again so many thanks.......Mark
@@spompey I am glad that you liked Brno! Come again for sure :) Otherwise, I love trains, I often watch them at this station even now, we have offices not far from this place :D So I thank you again for the video and I wish you good luck :)
18:15 EC171 Comenius 24:01 EC170 Comenius ...but, those are now just a history... The EMU class 560 is my childhood, my favourite, but not a single power car & trailer was preserved in Slovakia. Btw, back then, the livery was used accordingly to the catenary system (electric vehicles), not matter, if the "half dipped" or "uni88" (600 mm wide yellow strip around) livery.
Yes I have heard that about the livery, due to a viewer some time ago....all info is very well gratefully received and appreciated. Many thanks for sharing your fond memories of the era and my sincere best wishes to you as always...Mark
V roce 1997 to jeste porad byly stare dobre T3 a K2 saliny. Sice uz to neni takova jizda jak 1988 co jsme na prazdninach projezdili vsechmy linky jeste i s T2 sputniky, ale co dnes... nizkopodlazni nuda s kockopsy...

14:43 - 830 207-7 still used for passengers
16:58 - I don't know what this mixture is :D but interesting with really nice loco 750 022-6 pushing
And in 18:13 accelerating loco 350 012-1 owned by Slovak railways leading international train with modern coaches
19:40 - beautiful loco 263 002-8 in red-yellow scheme
32:04 - electric unit 560 005
35:51-38:00 - extremely rare footage of postal train set shunting (nice blue cargo wagons with the yellow trumpet logo) - there was a post office with its own rails
44:06 - freight train set made up of literally every car of a different type :D
