very nice to see you again, Derek! thank you for explaining a little more about what happens behind the scenes of creating content. some people don't understand the amount of time it takes to fully create a video - especially asmr videos, you always have to wait for a moment of silence when recording! i can't wait for more videos, i hope all is well :)

I'm so happy you may be back on a regular basis. I subscribed because your whisper voice puts me in a trance and topics (especially financial, 'advice' based videos, whiteboard explanations etc) are exactly what triggers me but subconsciously gives me positive and constructive thoughts. I also enjoyed your passion, never felt forced or too pre-planned. Ive never been onto role plays or sound videos so your channel was perfect. My partner isn't into ASMR but I used to talk to him about the content so you are appealing outside of asmr with your outlook and knowledge. Anyway, thought I would give my opinion and it's nothing but positive. Best Wishes from the Uk - Laura ❤

Great to see your back, you have the best whisper videos in the game! Me personally, I'm a quality over quantity kind of person. So if making videos ever starts to feel like a chore for you, to meet that double upload a week schedule, I as a subscriber, would rather see you scrap the schedule and just upload a video when you feel passionate to make one. Looking forward to the upcoming uploads!
Not sure if you are hoping to grow subscribers or not. Your ASMR is REALLY good, BTW. I have a constructive suggestion that might help with subscriber numbers (and would likely mean less work/prep for you). Your videos are always very thoughtful, but sometimes about somewhat stressful topics (money, real estate, finances, religion, conspiracy theories, etc.). Your ASMR puts me OUT, but the topics discussed make my mind race. Would you find this channel fulfilling if you did more videos on more mellow topics like: what you did that day, or what you made for dinner, or your workout routines? I could see those topics being less interesting to you, but they would probably take less time/energy to put together, and I honestly think more people would watch and subscribe because your ASRM is sooooo relaxing and soothing when the topic is mellow. Thanks!
I actually subscribed largely because of his choice of topics. I suspect I’m in the minority, but I really appreciate having an engaging topic that focuses my mind away from whatever is keeping me awake.
So personally couldn’t disagree more with the sentiment. But must grudgingly agree that you might be right about the subscriber numbers.
I hoped that doubling down on this underserved niche would help the channel grow, but it seems like it hasn’t paid off recently.
I also like videos be about interesting topics, because there are so much more yt channels that are these "milder topics" discussions. This channel has always been different for me because of the thoughts it makes me think while same time relaxing as an asmr video.
@@lollol-if3fmexactly if we wanted some regular boring channel we would go to that regular boring channel. All of his topics have been interesting whether or not I agree or disagree. But people are soft and sensitive. This dude is so real and that’s why I watch him, he’s my favorite because he’s not some shill like everyone else.
@@Loiter562 it was just a suggestion for the content creator, if he was hoping to expand his subscriber base (for financial purposes), and also because he has mentioned how time consuming all of his topic-focused videos are to create. Remember he stopped making videos altogether....
@@tjordan78 Totally get that. And part of the reason he gave for leaving (and still mentions in this video) was the negative reaction to the controversial subjects (ie, my favorite videos).
Selfishly, I’d like Derek to keep doing them, but totally understand if he wants to avoid these topics.

I really enjoy your videos. Just a thought: have you ever considered hiring someone to do the technical stuff for you? An editor who you send the raw footage to, they make the small changes needed, prepare a thumbnail, and upload the video for you?
Minimises your inputs to just sitting down and recording the footage & uploading it to a google drive.
Of course this would require investment on your part but if you were willing to do it I think it could be game changing.

I appreciate your thoughts on this....and yes I have thought about it. However, its one thing to not make much money but its another thing to actually have to lose money just to post videos. My channel brings in about $200 per month and pretty sure no one is going to make 8 videos for me for that amount of money. The editing part isn't really that bad. Truly by the time I get everything downloaded and sent to someone, it wouldn't take that much longer to just do it myself. I'm going to get this figured out and be back soon!
