Really interesting video as usual. I never really knew how to use the visualiser properly. My imola has 15x46 with an Italian Li150 box and CHT3 exhaust. I’ve tried 16x46 and 17x46 but it dies in 4th gear especially the 17x46 set up. Shame really as it flew in the first 3 gears 😄. As always after watching this I’m thinking of changing exhaust to perhaps a CHT5 to bring the top speed up. But then again who blasts around in top revs all the time. During lockdown these videos give me lots of thinking time which is dangerous for my wallet 😄😄
the other option is to machine 1mm off base of cylinder lowering port timings and keep same exhaust it should then pull higher gearing ....... you will have to put a thicker head gasket .
TheSteelweasel hi mate. Is there another pipe you would recommend. My mates have all had problems with the JL4 splitting. I’d rather not machine the cylinder I haven’t got the skills to do all that tuning stuff. 😄
@@CarlEves hi carl i got the jl 4 for 120 pounds direct from them ,,,,, the CTS5 is 365 pounds , ive had no problems with the jl i can only think your friends didnt fit it correctly and it was loose allowing it to crack ? up to you my friend
TheSteelweasel to be honest mate if it’s only £120 it’s worth the punt. I have got a robbospeed pipe here which I think was comparable to a JL4 but I can’t remember now. I took it off as it fitted quite close to the panel and it rubbed the panel.
@@TheSoldatone if it runs well with no problems then dont touch it . If it's got lots of mileage and runs badly or noisy strip and rebuild , beware old cranks they can fail even if they dont have play , I would replace this with a good quality one on any rebuild .
@@TheSteelweasel compression is not measured. well it works fine. he came from india after restoration and was on the move. then he fell on his side and got to me. the motor runs smoothly well, the kick starter grabs at the very end

14 stone well most people are around that weight ? If you go two up you won't get out of third . LI 150 ITALIAN 17 . 47 OR PACEMAKER 17 47 or 5 speed close ratio 18 47
Another great viseo ste , quick question tho m8 , when you buy a new chain , depending on your gears are going to set up , what length chain would you need for each individual gear set up m8
depends what chain tensioner your using with the casa x44 you can get away with more adjustment this is a 82 link with 19 / 46 sprokets . its an idea for a vid mate .....

the imola has high port timings and needs to rev to make power . CST3 is wrong exhaust i would fit jl4 race it will be better on 15.46

All looks very good on paper except the gear box ? TV is to high for this motor
