  • The Workers and Socialist Party is expected to hold a meeting regarding the GNU. It's calling on all working class formations for an urgent mass meeting tomorrow to demonstrate against what it calls the 'government of capitalist unity'. The party's Mametlwe Sebei shares his concerns about the newly-formed government.

    These unions are a waste of time and money. They go and negotiate with employers for a certain percentage while the workers demands a certain percentage bona they go in negotiate behind close doors already got a deal for themselves and come tell workers no they can only offer you a 2% increase while the workers aimed for 6% they the union will get the 2% for themselves and employer keep the 2%. This is just an example. But unions never really work for workers they all useless, my 1 cent thinking. They will be against GNU because they won't get the money they so used to get by doing nothing. Change is difficult but we need change in this country asap. And giving the GNU 5 years of our trust is better than the 30 wasted times without change. The time is now for change, so let's stop making so much noise for nothing until it collapses. Then we can talk.

    Socialism and Communism are Long DEAD. This is South Africa and it is CAPITALIST- All Blacks in SA are CAPITALISTS- WE LOVE MONEY AND WESTERN LIFE AND GLITZ THAT COME WITH IT. Try applying Socialism or Communism in the BLACK TAXI INDUSTRY- or at NOORD TAXI RANK - and see if you come out ALIVE. NINGADLALI NGABANTU ABAMNYAMA NINA.

    • @lesibaAlbert
      @lesibaAlbert 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, south Africans love capitalism or money( I believe it is a human nature to love valuables such as money) but it seems capitalism did not love us because there are more failures than successes, and evidence exists. Capitalism is almost successful in western countries e.g. USA, Japan etc. Conditions that made those countries successful are different from us ( south Africa and the rest of African countries). South Africa was opened to the world and everyone could come and do whatever businesses but still that did not work. Another examples of failures of capitalism in South Africa, our rand depreciated, lack of investments and development, poverty, inequality, unemployment. In addition, our 400 billion us dollar GDP capita is lower in comparison to a population of over 60 millions while small countries in west and Asia with small population has highest GDP per capita. I believe if we were better we could at least by now in the range between maybe 600 to 800 billions us dollar to deal or tackle challeges I have mentioned. I agree socialism or communism approaches can be abused by people in authority and evidence exists but which system can work? Or the problem could be those voted in power versus naive society which lack zeal to activate their agency to change the course? Whats going on? Or the elites or powerful will always divide and rule, in other words the poor will cry and do nothing while the rich or people in middle will maintain their status quo? This is south African situation I believe. I think change that we need in South Africa is that people should see that no one, either people in political space or business have their interests at heart, therefore go back to soul searching and to start to believe that solutions needed could come from them as was the case before 1994, in other words most people or communities were self reliant in terms of thinking but also in terms of survival, even when this will be deemed backwardness but where will help come from for the poor massses? Every South African should keep in this mind whenever they talk about economy or development, around 70 percent of sa workers earn below 6000 rand per month and when comparison is made to dollar that is nothing. I rest my case here.

    Ramaphosa is the last ANC president in South Africa. He is a happy man and with nothing to lose, its his last term in office.
    Below are his achievements;
    1. He will go down in history as a unifier even though is labelled a sell out
    2. He will retire from politics and join his white friends in business. They will be happy to embrace him as an ANC president who protected business interest over political considerations
    3. The world leaders particularly the West will see him as a hero almost to the level of Nelson Mandela for including the white people in the black government. A gesture of good will abd reconciliation.
    Ramaphosa is a happy man.
    The question begs- is the ANC happy after this or it's closer to its demise because this GNU move?

    Politics dictating this elaborate oration, says protecting the job market is no longer the responsibility of unions. The working class lost proper representation, when unions joined politics as an active partner - praying to 2 gods left 1 unloved. Its not rocket science - workers + the job market got the wrong end of the stick.
    The triparthd alliance with union bosses living the good life like their political partners, left
    workers with no 1
    to protest or protect workers against a self serving gov passing law after law putting 100,000's of ppl out of jobs - with not a squeeck from union bosses.

      @TheUsworldwide True - Unions in SA ceased to exist in 1994. Black Unions were created to fight the struggle within the work place. After 1994 they became part of ANC. Their Leadees betrayed the WORKERS. The leaders accepted SHARES from CAPITALIST BOSSES. This paralyzed the Unions. They cannot fight for HIGHER WAGES FOR WORKERS because this means LESS DIVIDENDS FOF THE UNION LEADERS.
