@@BeaversHobby Ok, thank you! In fact, the primer is not by the colour, is for to help to fix the paint to the surface. Maybe the sanded helps to fix the paint. Hoping the next video for details.
@@PonenTV Yes, primer also covers and show the imperfections so we can smoothen them out too. I just choose not to do it as for the paint to stick, sanding is enough for this. Time constraint is also a factor. I just want to get it coloured and be done with it.
Hi As you have so much experience of the K989 as a drift car I would like to know which drift tyres/wheels are best suited. The k989 treaded tyres 27mm dia obviously are no good so I ordered genuine 4x k969 wheels and drift tyres but they are only 25mm diameter and the car bottoms out all the time. Is 27mm the way to go? Cheers and keep up the fantastic videos
Original Mini-Z wheels and tyres are the best. Ground clearance is alright if you play it indoor but if your floor is somehow bumpy there are also 22mm wheels option and with the tyres they will give you more ground clearance.
Hey Beaver, informative as always, well done. Cause you're expirienced in micro Rc's I'd like to ask a question about electronics . Is the "Dasmikro" Esc the same as the PN Racing V2 Esc? They look quiet similar.
@@BeaversHobby Thank you for your reply! Well, for me the "Dasmikro" is almost impossible to get here, so I've ordered a "PN Esc V2" just yesterday. Glad to here that they're both good, cause I've noticed that in one of your Vids you were quiet impressed about the smoothness of that this little Esc in general. Btw.: Ordered a "PN Racing Mini-Z V3.1" Brushless Motor 3500kv with it. I guess they fit/work well together!
@@ufo4u63 It'll fit perfectly. These cars use the same motor format. I actually have a PN V2 too but never make a video of it because it's so widely use with 1/28 kit cars.
@@BeaversHobby Thanks again! I'll use the combo for an AMZ-build, still on it atm. Learnt a lot watching your vids!! Best channel for Micro-Drifting on YT! Keep up the nice work, cheers.
Nice work, I've seen some other videos with that same cheap airbrush kit. I was considering saving up a lump of money for a decent one but how has this one worked for you and for how long?
This one has been with me for about 2 years now. I don't use it that often though. The pump has 5 years now. So, my first one was the kit with this pump. I paid about $50 for it. The airbrush lasted about 3 years and then the seal broke. The pump was still working so I bought this red airbrush for probably $20. I only use acrylic from that point on and clean it thoroughly after use every time. So far it's still going strong. How long it'll last also depends on the type of colour. The enamel colour and thinner will dissolve the rubber seals much faster than water-based paint. How it woks? Well, I don't do very fine lines or intricate brush work so it works really well for me. Granted the aim isn't that good and it doesn't shoot straight like better and more expensive airbrushes but for a large area that I paint, it works just fine. Doing gradient is a bit tricky. I used to have Tamiya 74520 Spray-Work and that one was much easier.
@@BeaversHobby Thanks for the input! I've been looking into getting an airbrush at some point as I currently do gundam kits, and want to go into cars and plane kits aswell. I was wondering if it'd be worth cheaping out since I doubt I'd really be going for small details, more of spraying down coats. But like any tool it's and investment, so I may go for something else instead so that I can have options. Thanks again for your input! I suppose cheaper compressors aren't as bad anymore
@@extremecaliber2662 My pleasure. A cheap compressor is not bad nowadays. As long as you get one with a moisture trap (or buy one later) it'll be alright. At least mine works really well up to today. And you can get a better airbrush down the line if the one that comes with it isn't good enough.
thats not the way to paint body, first u need primer 3 layers at least , then spray the paint first layer should be very thin, 3 layers at least and then finally u get a clear.
Good boy Mr Beaver! Airbrushes is fun! 🥰🐶
I just picked up a couple WLtoys 1/28 thanks for all the info, on these mini cars!😊
Ah as always, nice nice very nice,👌👌🍺🍺🙏🏻
Recently got my own white body to paint hope it's as successful as this one 🎉🎉
Very Dank soundtrack
Did you sand the body before painting it?
Yes, with 1000 to 2000 grit sandpaper.
What type of paint are you using?
It's acrylic paint for plastic model from Mr.Hobby no. H-088 Metallic Blue.
Nice job! Hoping for the details. The surface, is like you buy or is primed? Thank you
I just sanded it with 1000 grit sandpaper. I don't have a primer. Well, didn't bother to buy one anyway because the surface is already white.

The DasMikro is PN Racing V1. It's really good. Currently it's DasMikro V3 which seems to be still the same components but without on-off switch.

How long do you dry each paint coat for using the UV light?
3-5 minutes depending on how dry is the weather.
