I'm thinking that the reason you got such an insane clear time with Miyabi/Nicole/Astra is due to dead-end butcher's elemental weaknesses. Not to mention, Nicole and Astra combined are able to help cause the corruption anomaly quickly, which can lead to additional disorders for Miyabi, adding to your damage. This isn't to say you're being misleading though. On the contrary, I think it shows that element damage is actually beginning to have a noticeable effect. For anyone watching, many of the teams showcased with either fire, electric, or physical damage could be better than you think! Remember, none of these teams showcased are bad!
True, there's merit here if he was only testing on Dead End Butcher like in the video footage. It would also explain why he says Ellen performed better than all of her peers and the other attackers in clear times because well... it's weak to Ice and she's the only Ice DPS other than Miyabi. Zhu Yuan is also great because of weakness+compounding with Astra's Ether but that's to be expected already. Though due to Miyabi's huge damage numbers I could probably still see her pulling ahead of most of the DPS characters in general use scenarios anyways. Because that Fox is STRONG.

Seems like having that attack buff alongside decreased enemy defense has a HUGE effect on damage calculation. The more I think about it, the more it seems that duo-support could become a new meta 👀
I’d like to point out that in the Miyabi Yanagi Astra footage, the gameplay isn’t particularly impressive. For example, he lost a few disorders at 09:08. Although I believe the trend won’t change, it makes the 49 sec from Yanagi’s team, compared to the 42 sec from Nicole’s team, seem a bit exaggerated.
@ oh yeah no doubt, there are tons of micro-optimizations that could be made to improve times. I personally feel that this is an incomplete test regardless, and that most Miyabi teams are cracked regardless as well lol. Anyway, I plan to use Astra on my 2nd team for Shiyu defense because I hate not having sub 1 minute on both sides lol.

The shock didn't disorder because butcher was dead I don't see the "a few disorders" that were lost? what am I missing?

Yeah we already do that anyway. When is the last time you on field Lucy or Nicole? Only soukaku needs field time but then again she is there to be swapped regardless. I also don't see that as a con at all

If you aren't worried about new characters, you might as well save up, since you run the risk of getting a new character you don't want if you fail the 50/50. I'd focus on maxing Miyabi out as she is with gear and stats, and if you still aren't satisfied, then go for it.
I'm glad you mentioned the billy the extra chain attacks from astra help him get 2 charges on the additional passive so his ult does more damage for that stun window and you can put a 4 piece puffer electro on him for another 20% more damage.
@@amethyst5783You can check it for every character in the messaging screen. Chances are, you're probably still very early in the game so just play the game normally, they will tell you when it's unlocked
So, I have a little over 12k polychrome saved up, and initially, I was going to go for Evelyn, as I'm interested in building a fire based team. After learning Astra Yao is the game's first healer, I feel like she's a must pull. Here's hoping I win the 50/50 and can save up again in time for Evelyn.
I don't really feel like healing is that important in ZZZ seeing as how you can dodge/parry a lot of the incoming damage. That said, I would much rather prefer Caesar instead because her shielding gives uninterruptible, allowing you to just attack right through enemy attacks without worrying about dodging. However, the idea that Astra essentially allows you to play with a two-person team is intriguing (I almost feel like 3-person teams is too much to juggle sometimes).
I think that whats more imoortant is her relevance as the first limited support in this game. I feel she might have the same impact as ruan mei does, considering shes basically soukaku and lucy but upped to eleven. I really hope she satisfies our expectations tbh.

the team I've been most excited for is evelyn astra koleda (once eve comes out) due to the fact that astra causes chain attacks with ult, evelyn buffs her chain and ultimate to 125% of it's original value, and koleda buffs chain attacks by up to 70% on stunned enemies as long as she hit her ex special twice. insane chain attack team

In paper, astra yao can fit well in a lighter team because you can maintain little to no downtime on his stand rush core passive (ora ora punches) thru her quick assist feature She also can fit well in a Billy team comp
As someone who's also considering a Harumasa team with Yao: He does spawn quivers with his quick assists, and refreshes his extra quivers from the 5th basic attack, so there's definitely positive synergy. Nicole is still very decent for him though, and the team slots can get pretty tight if you want a stunner/anomaly unit, or Rina, so don't feel forced to pull unless you really like the character or specifically want a second ether support. I personally think I'll skip her, but maybe the marketing department will sway my decision last second.
@ I was going to go for astra Yao and qingyi I have Astra guaranteed. I really think I can pull both and it would make harumasa better. I also just thinks she looks beautiful. I just started really playing this patch though I got lighter 3 days before he left. So going through all the story and endgame I’ve amassed a lot of pulls. There’s still a little left I haven’t done so I’m not too worried.
at first I loved Robin singing, then it got annoying and hated it, but now I'm okay again since I don't use her in every team or every fight. I guess the same pattern will happen with Astra
What support do you "play" really though.. I mean Lucy, Rina, Nicole you literally swap into them ex special and quick assist off . Soukaku is only one with any kind of field time and it usually isn't considered a good thing
getting Miyabi to atleast M1 was honestly worth it for me because even with just Soukaku, Miyabi deals so much DMG anyway that it frees some other characters like Nagi for other teams

also do note that it's optional to even max out every skill, just need the important ones, which is likely her burst and skill from the looks of it. So its less than what he mentioned. But she definitely needs her passive maxed.
2 part question 1- i dont have yanagi can i change for a burnice? miyabi, burnice, astra yao? 2- will yanagi come back like ellen ? (even if late LATE in the future?)
Miyabi and Burnice are a great team, and Astra can only make them better. And yes Yanagi will have a rerun, likely after Qingyi, Zhu, Jane, Caesar, and Burnice. If they keep close to release order, Yanagi won’t be too far off, maybe six months at the most.
did you test Astra - Nicole - Zhu Yuan? That team feels to me like the most synergistic of them all, considering Nicole buffs ether dmg and reduces defence, and Astra buffs atk, dmg and does her own dmg as well.
That I would be interested is not just comparison between different teams WITH Astra, but also to compare them with teams WITHOUT her. To understand how much she improves those teams. I'm unsure should I pull Astra or not, because I have a new account with Miyabi, Neko, Harumasa and Koleda and no one else, and I think I need another DPS in a form of Evelyn (yes, I know that I formally have 3 DPS - Miyabi, Neko and Haru - but I don't like playing Harumasa). But if Astra gives like 50% up in performance for many different units, that's significant. If not, then I think I'd rather skip her for Evelyn and get her later.
I was actually considering skipping her until you mentioned that she really works well with Jane and Miyabi. I really hate how packed this patch is since I also want Evelyn and Qingyi.
You will probably be the only one to try out that Miyabi, Nicole, and Astra team, and I thank you for it. That's going to make hypercarry Miyabi feel much better.
Even without these supports she's already a ridiculous hyper carry all things considered, I have ran Miyabi a lot with Caesar and it works wonders because of that bonus 1k flat from her shield. no stagger, can parry, dodges deal a jack ton. One I wanna attempt is Miyabi hyper carry w Caesar + Astra thats for sure. just the amount of flat atk that they both give it's gonna be a good setup for any dps or anomaly characters that scales a lot from ATK
I might be wrong but I believe the reason Astra-Nicole is so good is because of the vertical breach they introduce in stats, one buffing you and the other debuffing the enemies, is like forcing an artificial level difference

Is Astra good for Harumasa? I just started so I dont have qingyi(?) or the maid from the permanent banner. Im just using Nicole Harumasa and Abby I also went to pull for his M1 and weapon if it helps smh xd
The only real con I’ve noticed is when comparing her with the other ether support, she doesn’t have the grouping. Nicole is great for wiping out the mobs at the start of shiyu floors. Other than that though. She has very few drawbacks if any
The only thing I really have to pre-farm now is her expert challenge and Notorious Hunt. The double support Nicole and Astra team has me curious with Zhu Yuan especially since I have M1, it's also one of the fastest times 😄Also trying to use Nicole's free skin. Harumasa, Zhu Yuan, Ellen and Soldier 11 are probably going to be my main teams with her, especially till Evelyn is out.😊
don't expect much from these 'theory crafters'. They have all the shiny S rank agents and w-engines to play with. Not in their business to maximize their skill on all the 'alternative' dmg dealers from the A rank pool.
I was thinking the same with running double ether support + DPS. I already run Caeser and Nicole with Miyabi, but Astra would be even stronger than Caeser. M6 Nicole's crit rate boost is nice on Miyabi. Yanagi, I would just pair with Rina on a second team, especially if you have Rina+weapon dupes. Leave Miyabi for double support.
May I ask what your source is for her boss drops and expert challenge drops? Is it reliable? If I go prefarm it I really dont want the rug to be pulled from under me and end up with a bunch of stuff I wasted energy on.
Tl;dr she’s great unit if your team comps is missing the edge to clear S at end game content. If you’re already killing it in end game, you don’t need her.

I really wish Evelyn was coming out first man. I have enough pulls saved to probably guarantee her, then I could just try to get Astra next if not it’s not a big deal. But now I have to skip Astra completely to make sure I get Evelyn. I keep track of the money I spend in games and I’ve “only” $110 in Zzz, $50 of which was for the “battlepasses”. And I have every limited character. I’m done spending for a while so Astra will be my first. Not a huge fan of her design anyway
How do you think a double support team could perform on an on-field focused agent? Say, a team of Billy, Nicole, and Astra? Since Nicole and Astra do very different things. Nicole debuffs enemies, while Astra buffs agents.
Since she was the only S-Rank support healer support (aside from avocadoboo) shes a must pull for me because i have tons of DPS and I have 12k Polychrome and i got Miyabi and her w engine combined with my Yanagi shes a must pull for me
As a dolphin (monthly pass+battle pass) I got extremely lucky with Miyabi: won 4 50/50s in a row, M2 and M3 coming from the same 10 pull and got her weapon early. I have 20 tapes and 35k polychrome saved up. I think I'm gonna go for Astra+weapon to jack up Miyabi even more lol
@majorwakanda8858 honestly not very high, I considered it, but it would effectively eat up all of my polychromes and she's already leagues above all the other characters. Maybe on a rerun I'll M6 her haha
@TheRoleplayer40k i honestly didn't keep track of how many pulls it took, but id say for M3 it took 150 or so and then for the weapon I did lose the 75/25 to Lycaons weapon so that took about 100
My current two top teams are Miyabi/Lighter/Lucy and Caesar/Burnice/Jane. I wonder where Astra would make the most difference if swapped into either of those two teams. The instinct to trade her in for Lucy because both are supports is there, but I think you'd lose all the passives in that team if you did that. I wonder if Astra/Burnice/Jane is better than Caesar/Burnice/Jane? You lose the survivability of having Caesae's shield which is super nice. I wonder if Caesar/Astra/Jane would perform well? You'd lose the easy disorder damage from Burnice though. Maybe a whole new team config is in order. I do have Nicole and Zhu Yuan built, so I could run like Astra/Zhu Yuan/Nicole for an all-Ether team.
The whole ether team sounds nice, but I think Quingyi will be a better fit for that team more than Astra Yao, simply because Zhu Yuan's best pairing is her. For you first question, I think switching Caesar for Astra makes the most sense since that will enable that team to deal more damage bringing their output almost on par to your Miyabi team. If you'll go with that, you can then change between Lighter and Caesar in your Miyabi team depending on what you need, offering you more flexibility on how you approach fights.
I randomly ran miyabi nicole astra yesterday and thought that shit was absolutely STUPID broken, so I looked up if anybody else is using this team and I am not surprised at all by this 9:49 .
Honestly why is no one thinking of putting Nicole and Astra in the same team?? Their buffs STACK and they do it hard. The two charcaters can probably make Miyabi or Zhu Yuan monsters together.
Zhu Yuan really, really wants the enemy to be stunned for her short damage window. All the buffs in the world can't compensate for the fact that she has 9 shots and 9 shots only, so she needs to make them count (at m0)
@MetricPolygon That is fairly true but if you're talking other charcaters like Miyabi it might be a new best team, I saw that ironically it was the best performing one later in the vid.
@James-fv4jx Nicole debuffs are better paired since buffs stacking on eachother will diminish. Nicole is still an S+ tier character and you can see as Miyabi's (arguably best char in the game) best team is literally just Nicole and Astra, not to mention they pair well because of Ether synergy, especially if you build Anomaly Mastery on Nicole to proc disorder more with Miyabi. Then throw in reasonaboo and the damage is gonna be through the roof.
I thought her second-best WEngine is Vault? Since it gives 15% dmg and some energy. But I guess the actual second-best WE is the one that has the highest refinement. Bashful Demon Rank 3 would probabbly be better than Vault Rank 1.

I was not planning on getting her since i wanted Ellen Eve and Qingy to fill in the gaps my other team comps have, i have miyabi already but idk, i could probably skip Qingy and try and get Astra Ellen and Eve, though i can at best, and that's saying something, get 3 agents so i have to make a decision here but idk what to pick lol, the only one that i know i WILL pull for regardless is Evelyn, mainly for the waifu pick but also i dont really have any other fire agents besides say Lucy and.... that's it, yeah ben is there and whatnot but i dont like his gameplay so i never bothered. So i'm torn between astra ellen and qingy mainly here, and since i can probably "replace" Qingy with Anby i was guessing maybe the better choice was to pick astra ellen and evelyn... though i'm still thinking about it. I started playing on 1.4 so i don't really have most agents that would make a huge difference here and there (or those that i have i don't really like playing like i said with ben earlier)
the requirement to do quick assist for astra to be used for most potential not making this flexible at all. also the heal was useless knowing the mechanic in zzz is dodging and parry.
its not really a trap, alot of the games content have enemies with massive HP and Def stats even on a counter it takes a good bit of time to clear, Astra allows you to build up your output really fast and let alone you don't really have to have her out as stated that she's just onfield afk and doesnt take dmg while on her singing form the healing and cdmg is great for the content we're gonna receive. While true not really a must pull you pull who you want to pull, but better to get her early as the game is most likely gonna release more busted dps characters and most likely a support that caters to other playstyles. Astra does cater a lot to heavy anomalies and the likes of Harumasa who's build up is faster with quick assists and other Sec6 helping him out. but up to you man both can run extremely well together especially double support to a onfield demon

I’m sad there was no mention of harumasa that’s the main reason I want to pull her as I’ve invested into him quite heavily at M1S1
As someone who's also considering a Harumasa team with Yao: He does spawn quivers with his quick assists, and refreshes his extra quivers from the 5th basic attack, so there's definitely positive synergy.
Nicole is still very decent for him though, and the team slots can get pretty tight if you want a stunner/anomaly unit, or Rina, so don't feel forced to pull unless you really like the character or specifically want a second ether support.
I personally think I'll skip her, but maybe the marketing department will sway my decision last second.
@ I was going to go for astra Yao and qingyi I have Astra guaranteed. I really think I can pull both and it would make harumasa better. I also just thinks she looks beautiful. I just started really playing this patch though I got lighter 3 days before he left. So going through all the story and endgame I’ve amassed a lot of pulls. There’s still a little left I haven’t done so I’m not too worried.

at first I loved Robin singing, then it got annoying and hated it, but now I'm okay again since I don't use her in every team or every fight. I guess the same pattern will happen with Astra

What support do you "play" really though.. I mean Lucy, Rina, Nicole you literally swap into them ex special and quick assist off . Soukaku is only one with any kind of field time and it usually isn't considered a good thing
getting Miyabi to atleast M1 was honestly worth it for me because even with just Soukaku, Miyabi deals so much DMG anyway that it frees some other characters like Nagi for other teams

also do note that it's optional to even max out every skill, just need the important ones, which is likely her burst and skill from the looks of it. So its less than what he mentioned. But she definitely needs her passive maxed.
This is why power creep exists because people can't even be bothered to level and build characters lol
2 part question
1- i dont have yanagi can i change for a burnice? miyabi, burnice, astra yao?
2- will yanagi come back like ellen ? (even if late LATE in the future?)
Miyabi and Burnice are a great team, and Astra can only make them better. And yes Yanagi will have a rerun, likely after Qingyi, Zhu, Jane, Caesar, and Burnice. If they keep close to release order, Yanagi won’t be too far off, maybe six months at the most.

did you test Astra - Nicole - Zhu Yuan? That team feels to me like the most synergistic of them all, considering Nicole buffs ether dmg and reduces defence, and Astra buffs atk, dmg and does her own dmg as well.
That I would be interested is not just comparison between different teams WITH Astra, but also to compare them with teams WITHOUT her. To understand how much she improves those teams. I'm unsure should I pull Astra or not, because I have a new account with Miyabi, Neko, Harumasa and Koleda and no one else, and I think I need another DPS in a form of Evelyn (yes, I know that I formally have 3 DPS - Miyabi, Neko and Haru - but I don't like playing Harumasa). But if Astra gives like 50% up in performance for many different units, that's significant. If not, then I think I'd rather skip her for Evelyn and get her later.
I was actually considering skipping her until you mentioned that she really works well with Jane and Miyabi. I really hate how packed this patch is since I also want Evelyn and Qingyi.

You will probably be the only one to try out that Miyabi, Nicole, and Astra team, and I thank you for it. That's going to make hypercarry Miyabi feel much better.
Even without these supports she's already a ridiculous hyper carry all things considered, I have ran Miyabi a lot with Caesar and it works wonders because of that bonus 1k flat from her shield. no stagger, can parry, dodges deal a jack ton. One I wanna attempt is Miyabi hyper carry w Caesar + Astra thats for sure. just the amount of flat atk that they both give it's gonna be a good setup for any dps or anomaly characters that scales a lot from ATK
I might be wrong but I believe the reason Astra-Nicole is so good is because of the vertical breach they introduce in stats, one buffing you and the other debuffing the enemies, is like forcing an artificial level difference
So basically Astra + Nicole turn Miyabi into a god level DPS. That's crazy! Love your content and the amount of valuable information you provide from your tests.

Hello what would be my strongest team? Astra Miyabi is done deal next is confusion between piper m3, lycaon m1, nicole m1, soukaku m6w5. I will be using soukaku sig w4 on astra since i got them while getting miyabi w1.

The only real con I’ve noticed is when comparing her with the other ether support, she doesn’t have the grouping. Nicole is great for wiping out the mobs at the start of shiyu floors. Other than that though. She has very few drawbacks if any

The only thing I really have to pre-farm now is her expert challenge and Notorious Hunt. The double support Nicole and Astra team has me curious with Zhu Yuan especially since I have M1, it's also one of the fastest times 😄Also trying to use Nicole's free skin. Harumasa, Zhu Yuan, Ellen and Soldier 11 are probably going to be my main teams with her, especially till Evelyn is out.😊

don't expect much from these 'theory crafters'. They have all the shiny S rank agents and w-engines to play with.
Not in their business to maximize their skill on all the 'alternative' dmg dealers from the A rank pool.

I was thinking the same with running double ether support + DPS. I already run Caeser and Nicole with Miyabi, but Astra would be even stronger than Caeser. M6 Nicole's crit rate boost is nice on Miyabi.
Yanagi, I would just pair with Rina on a second team, especially if you have Rina+weapon dupes. Leave Miyabi for double support.

No one ever seems to mention Astra miyabi Jane as a team. Is there any thoughts on that?
May I ask what your source is for her boss drops and expert challenge drops? Is it reliable? If I go prefarm it I really dont want the rug to be pulled from under me and end up with a bunch of stuff I wasted energy on.
Don't worry too much about prefarming. Eventually you'll pull a character you need the resources for.

I really wish Evelyn was coming out first man. I have enough pulls saved to probably guarantee her, then I could just try to get Astra next if not it’s not a big deal. But now I have to skip Astra completely to make sure I get Evelyn.
I keep track of the money I spend in games and I’ve “only” $110 in Zzz, $50 of which was for the “battlepasses”. And I have every limited character. I’m done spending for a while so Astra will be my first. Not a huge fan of her design anyway
How do you think a double support team could perform on an on-field focused agent? Say, a team of Billy, Nicole, and Astra? Since Nicole and Astra do very different things. Nicole debuffs enemies, while Astra buffs agents.

As a dolphin (monthly pass+battle pass) I got extremely lucky with Miyabi: won 4 50/50s in a row, M2 and M3 coming from the same 10 pull and got her weapon early. I have 20 tapes and 35k polychrome saved up. I think I'm gonna go for Astra+weapon to jack up Miyabi even more lol
How strong is the temptation to M6? I ended up M6ing after getting M3 pretty quickly.
@majorwakanda8858 honestly not very high, I considered it, but it would effectively eat up all of my polychromes and she's already leagues above all the other characters. Maybe on a rerun I'll M6 her haha

@TheRoleplayer40k i honestly didn't keep track of how many pulls it took, but id say for M3 it took 150 or so and then for the weapon I did lose the 75/25 to Lycaons weapon so that took about 100

My current two top teams are Miyabi/Lighter/Lucy and Caesar/Burnice/Jane. I wonder where Astra would make the most difference if swapped into either of those two teams.
The instinct to trade her in for Lucy because both are supports is there, but I think you'd lose all the passives in that team if you did that. I wonder if Astra/Burnice/Jane is better than Caesar/Burnice/Jane? You lose the survivability of having Caesae's shield which is super nice. I wonder if Caesar/Astra/Jane would perform well? You'd lose the easy disorder damage from Burnice though.
Maybe a whole new team config is in order. I do have Nicole and Zhu Yuan built, so I could run like Astra/Zhu Yuan/Nicole for an all-Ether team.
The whole ether team sounds nice, but I think Quingyi will be a better fit for that team more than Astra Yao, simply because Zhu Yuan's best pairing is her. For you first question, I think switching Caesar for Astra makes the most sense since that will enable that team to deal more damage bringing their output almost on par to your Miyabi team. If you'll go with that, you can then change between Lighter and Caesar in your Miyabi team depending on what you need, offering you more flexibility on how you approach fights.
I randomly ran miyabi nicole astra yesterday and thought that shit was absolutely STUPID broken, so I looked up if anybody else is using this team and I am not surprised at all by this 9:49 .

Honestly why is no one thinking of putting Nicole and Astra in the same team?? Their buffs STACK and they do it hard. The two charcaters can probably make Miyabi or Zhu Yuan monsters together.
Zhu Yuan really, really wants the enemy to be stunned for her short damage window. All the buffs in the world can't compensate for the fact that she has 9 shots and 9 shots only, so she needs to make them count

idk if I'm the only one who wants to attempt a Caesar + Astra combo with any dps/anomaly character they both have ridiculous buffs.
@James-fv4jx Nicole debuffs are better paired since buffs stacking on eachother will diminish. Nicole is still an S+ tier character and you can see as Miyabi's (arguably best char in the game) best team is literally just Nicole and Astra, not to mention they pair well because of Ether synergy, especially if you build Anomaly Mastery on Nicole to proc disorder more with Miyabi. Then throw in reasonaboo and the damage is gonna be through the roof.
With Aatra Chain attack assists, Zhu Yuan gets the ammo to actually stay on field and dps outside stun window.
Funnily enough ive been doing Jane/Seth since they released so two person teams are my b&b lmao.

I thought her second-best WEngine is Vault? Since it gives 15% dmg and some energy. But I guess the actual second-best WE is the one that has the highest refinement. Bashful Demon Rank 3 would probabbly be better than Vault Rank 1.

I was not planning on getting her since i wanted Ellen Eve and Qingy to fill in the gaps my other team comps have, i have miyabi already but idk, i could probably skip Qingy and try and get Astra Ellen and Eve, though i can at best, and that's saying something, get 3 agents so i have to make a decision here but idk what to pick lol, the only one that i know i WILL pull for regardless is Evelyn, mainly for the waifu pick but also i dont really have any other fire agents besides say Lucy and.... that's it, yeah ben is there and whatnot but i dont like his gameplay so i never bothered. So i'm torn between astra ellen and qingy mainly here, and since i can probably "replace" Qingy with Anby i was guessing maybe the better choice was to pick astra ellen and evelyn... though i'm still thinking about it. What would you guys do in this scenario? I started playing on 1.4 so i don't really have most agents that would make a huge difference here and there (or those that i have i don't really like playing like i said with ben earlier)

its not really a trap, alot of the games content have enemies with massive HP and Def stats even on a counter it takes a good bit of time to clear, Astra allows you to build up your output really fast and let alone you don't really have to have her out as stated that she's just onfield afk and doesnt take dmg while on her singing form the healing and cdmg is great for the content we're gonna receive. While true not really a must pull you pull who you want to pull, but better to get her early as the game is most likely gonna release more busted dps characters and most likely a support that caters to other playstyles. Astra does cater a lot to heavy anomalies and the likes of Harumasa who's build up is faster with quick assists and other Sec6 helping him out. but up to you man both can run extremely well together especially double support to a onfield demon
