This video was super useful. I thought it wouldn't be worth it getting this with a Pixel since you only get 2x, not 4x. But the difference between the f/1.8 aperture shows me that this is still super worth it.

Anamorphic with an adapter is the way for me; I’m going to use that for the dunk shots. I’m going to use Sandmarc for the tele and pl or nd combos for my sideline shots.
I have an Iphone XR, moment 58 tele lens, a Hoya NXT Plus CPL Filter and a Hoya NXT HMC-UV Filter. I am shooting a ton of video with my XR. My 2 questions are....1) Is it worth always having the UV filter on as a source of "lens protection"? Since it's a good one, I assume my video will be compromised very little. Thoughts? 2) Should I use both filters together when shooting outside in bright conditions? I assume the UV goes on first, and then the CPL. Your insight is much appreciated. -Bob

tbh I feel like all I would have to do is take a few steps closer to the subject and I would have the same quality photo as with one with a Tele lens that's a few steps back. For some reason, you don't mention the old Tele lens is 60mm. Is 2mm that big of a difference?
58mm tele Moment lens is a good beginning, but I need 3x more without vignette problems for iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPad Pro 3rd and 4th Gen. Same for high-end Samsung phones.
It looks like your lens is the class of the field. My question is whether or not two telephoto lenses could be housed, and operated like a traditional camera zoom lens to allow adjustable zoom range between 1.5x and say 3.0x, without loosing too much brightness or image quality, rather than a static (fixed) zoom at 2x.
Sensor size in iPhone X vs XS is 1.2 vs 1.4 microns. There’s no blurry depth of field other than the digital processing. Your lenses are good. I’ve owned two of them. But there are obvious limitations to a sensor in a phone, and I can’t see that this 58mm will be able to behave similarly to a “real” 58mm without help from software.
Christian Furu i don't think they are really trying to do what you are thinking about. they just want to deal with the fact that the new phones have larger sensors and that you're get dark corners / vignetting on those phones with the "old" moment lenses like the 60mm. i guess they did not want to change too much so they just turned their 60mm into a 58mm with a bigger opening towards the camera...
I concur with another commentor. And just for clarity, I didn't watch the video after some of the first comments and find the comments themselves not to really address why someone would want this lens. I have never considered a 58mm a telephoto.....not even on a good day. I see little difference in these images and the ones I can shoot at 2x on my iPhone X. The fact is some of the things they say it does can be easily done in post processing. I do use the wide angle and it's the real deal. I was initially excited when I received an email about the new 'telephoto' but was sad when I saw it was a 58mm, that's NOT a telephoto. Unless you can get me something like an 85 or 105 I'm gonna take a hard pass.
