The sad truth is, nobody that plays football outside America cares about winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
It's all about leagues, domestic cups, champions leagues, world cups, continental cups like the European championships, African nations Cup, the Asian Cup, copa America and so on.
Most country's in the world, women don't play sports or are not allowed to play sports or have no money invested in womens sports, so when you have a big country that spends lots of money and has lots of women playing the game, you get a team like the US dominating, that doesn't happen in men's football.
In men's football, theres Pro leagues in most country's in the world. The mls has pumped billions and billions in to the sport over the last 14 years, and the US still don't have a great team and has never created a world class player.
You have to have a good system and culture to help create elite footballers. The one thing I will say is that you guys are beginning to get that, so you will be creating top level players in the next 5 to 10 years.
Respect for the US women's team for winning but I would like the women's sport to grow to really see competition instead of winning through lack of.

You're 90% right. I disagree on the football gold medal though. It is obviously not as important as a World Cup, a Euro or Copa America because it is U-23. But it is indeed important. I recently heard Messi himself talking about how much he values the title of Beijing 2008.
@@Madferit91 You're somewhat right about south American countries, they at least value Olympic football, but that's surely not the case for European countries. For instance, when Denmark last time played in the Olympics, they exclusively selected players from our own (small) domestic league. The Olympic also takes place the same years as the European Championship.

Technically gifted and gorgeous. She is like the prototype for the Hot female athlete. Aside from the superficial stuff the USA womens team is the most dominant individual team on the planet . Maybe the New England patriots ;) , just because the parity of the NFL is insane.
I don’t thinks so. The other nation are now catching up. Sweden defeated the US 3-0 in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Canada defeated us in the Semi finals. They are strong. But a lot adjustment has to happen.

It is kind of ridiculous that you hear all the time: “we need to inspire girls”, “young girls need this....”, “young girls need that”. Why can it not be “ we need to inspire all people, male, female, no matter the age”. Men just kinda get throw in the back seat while there are all these special programs for girls only; like Girls in STEM.

She is inspiring boys and girls she said so herself. Girls couldn’t play sports or do much awhile ago. Teaching them to be humble and grateful to be able to do things and play. Boys always had that opportunity. She is an inspiration to anyone who has a wonderful soccer passion or a hard work passion!
Please tell me you’re joking. There is a very clear discrepancy between girls and boys and there always has been. Boys have been told from the beginning that they can do/achieve anything they want and the focus has always been on them. It’s time we treat girls the same.

The men only play under 23 players and 16 teams. The women's tournament is best on best.

There are far more than 16 teams capable of contending for a world cup , but there are only 5-10 teams on the womens side that can actually win. That's why its more important on the womens side
