Jekyll Island is truly where my heart belongs. I have been going ever since I was 4 years old. The lion statues you saw, my mother and I get on the concrete behind it and mimic its pose every time we go. I love Jekyll Island so much!

I live in north central Florida and I have alot of cherished memories of coming here with my mom and dad (my dad just passed away from leukemia (aml) in October. My dad even would take my daughter with him to jekyll Island so she now has some cherished memories. I love it there. Such a sentimental place in my heart ❤️ makes me a little teary eyed thinking about it. (My dad was an amazing person, he retired a captain in th3 navy and was a medical professor, dermatology, for UF and taught dermatology) 💙 I miss him dearly

Bea-u-ti-ful!! Absolutely stunning. You have such a knack for capturing the essence of a place and making us feel as if we're right there with you, Chris. I first stumbled across your video when you were up in Watkins Glen, NY (about 20 miles from my home) and have been hooked ever since! This video has made it possible to imagine being warm again, ha, ha! Thanks for sharing with us and keep recording your adventures!

Oh my gosh what an interesting place! I can't get enough. This had to be really spectacular in its day. It still is. You must've really enjoyed your visit there. I know I would've . Totally awesome! I wondered about those trees on the beach if they were torn from their roots during a hurricane? Many years ago of course. It looks like they don't want to leave, understandably. And the big old oak is living history. Another superb video done very well. Thank you!

One of our favourite places in the world. It has seen new hotels and a shopping village built but hope they do not over develop Jekyll as it is rare to find such beauty and peace in such a wonderful setting. The Clubhouse is a step back in time and a relaxing place to stay. Your tour was most enjoyable as you showed many of the special spots. A joy to watch. Thank you.

For those who enjoy a little history to go along with the beauty of Jekyll Island .. Jekyll, ( appropriately named) was the playground of the wealthy Industrialists, and the birthplace of the Federal Reserve. Early French colonists landed there to build the first their first colony and interfaced with the Indian's that lived there, and were so frightened by their practices that they fled in horror; they chose St Augustine, FL instead. If you get the chance to visit St. Augustine do so; the fort and the cathedral are awesome, and maybe those Indian practices inspired them to build tall walls on the fort!

The southeast US has beautiful sun rises and breathtaking sunsets. That's about it. I grew up in Southeast sleepy town of St Mary's GA. Muggy, humidity year round, and biting sand gnats all year round too. We have to wear bug repellant as perfume/cologne. That's how you know if you pass by a southerner... They smell like DEET. lol.

We went to Jekyll Island as a kid. Weekend trip with family. Nobody checked the weather before we left. Like idiots, we drove down in "the rain" thinking it was just crappy weather. Stayed at a Holiday Inn near the beach. Well, guess what? Either a tropical storm was passing over that night or there were lots of general tropical thunderstorms with severe downpours. We were walking down the hallway holding hands and trying to not fall down the steps that lead downstairs. Their emergency lights sucked and were few and far between. The power stayed out all night. I was pretty young. Halfway through the night, some random guy was banging on the locked lobby doors. He claimed he was out looking for a lost kid and "fell in the pool and almost drowned"...just all kinds of crazy stuff happened. We found a sailboat rudder that we took home with us and kept in our room for a couple of decades. Moral of the story: don't go anywhere without checking the freaking weather first. This was before cell phones with weather apps and such. It was likely before most people had internet in homes, as well.

That boardwalk was not necessarily to an old hotel but could have been. The fenced off area could have been a sinkhole area or and where they're is a protected wildlife area they want sheltered from human interaction. Those raised walks are an access point to the beach that is raised because it goes over protected "Sea Oats". They are all over the south east coast, especially lowland coastal areas. Those showers are for beachgoers to rinse off the sand. lol I can see how you came to that conclusion though.
