    Thanks Marko for this treasure. I have a fantastic European Deep Purple NOS. Maybe licensed Floyd can be improved. But i love HP2 just the same.

    Hey marko I have a suggestion, I'd really like to see your guitar collection and I'm sure many others would as well. Why don't you make a guitar collection video in different parts? Like tell us about how you got the guitar and the story behind it, play it a little bit, no rush. Make it a 5 or even 10 part series(:

    Nice interview, Marko. Just looked at a few photos on american musical supply. The licensed Floyd has the chrome fine tuners. Haven't seen one that looks like that which was the same quality as an original. For $2500, I don't want what would amount to a Floyd Rose Special. Thanks!

    Gorgeous guitars! and to this day, I regret selling my red USA peavey Wolfgang, but I’m not paying those prices for an import guitar.

    The neck profile and material I think is key to keep the same

  • @bradleywood1499
    @bradleywood1499 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Marko, who did Peavey decide to contract the builds out to in Europe? I remember you saying that you were pretty sure that you knew who it was but didn't want to say until it was official.

      I saw on the GuitarWorld interview back over the summer, he said it was made in Czechoslovakia, but didn't mention who it was.

    My question is why are they so expensive? I would love one of these.

    • @e.l.norton
      @e.l.norton 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price is actually fairly reasonable. Factor in material costs, import costs, etc. Companies have to make a profit.

    • @eddieirons7213

      Right price for someone who has money and didn't lose everything from the covid.

  • @josephsantiago4205

    I wonder how does it compare to the current Mexican-made EVH Wolfgang Special. I think that's a fair comparison as both are imports.

    Marko...Barry hear you're buddy, haaa. This is a loaded question as I know what a fan you are of the Les Paul. I'm now so interested in buying one of these I'm shitting myself. Are they the same price as a LP STANDARD? And are they better? $2,499 the price. Dude, I want one!

    ok why didnt you ask him about the crappy case candy, and why the floyd rose is a licensed copy and not a floyd rose 1000 . . . for $2000 plus sup wid dat

    What about the HP1? Is it a forgotten guitar?

    • @benjamindover761
      @benjamindover761 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Marko, Fred is suffering from Amnesia apparently. Great review on the HP2 BTW.
      Yes Alessandro what about these "ahem" bastard children??
      The THREE HP Specials I own are Meridian made and date from 2006, 2007, 2010. So maybe ask Fred about the timeline for the HP1? Few holes in the history here. Wolfgang production ended in 2004 >>>>>> then they snuck a few out with a revised body shape and switch move.?
      They have the pickup selector located by the Volume and Tone knobs and have coil taps. These are my most prized and played guitars. I also own a Peavey Wolfgang Special Made in Korea that is of equal build quality when compared side by side.
      The tuners and Floyd I upgraded but the wood and pickups are as good as the USA models.
      Im glad to see people are finally realizing what gems these really are. Quality is more important than where its made to me.

    Stainless frets? How about better balance? My wolf is much better balanced than my son's epi sg, but it's still a little neck heavy.

      No birdseye:)

    • @THEVATICANTS
      @THEVATICANTS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why not buy a newer and improved Wolfie? Also the birdseye on the HP2 is just insane, at least on my NOS!!!

    • @fandangodrive4310

      Right now nobody has any

  • @rocknrollresignation93
    @rocknrollresignation93 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had one for a brief time. Was underwhelmed for the price. Pickups were ok. Coil splits or taps were useless. Beautiful birdseye neck but fretboard edges were not rounded off very well, felt very uncomfortable in the hand. Plus had a cheap licensed floyd (felt like a special, not even a 1000 series). Honestly for my money, an EVH Wolfgang Special is a much better option.
