Thanks Brandon, I have been in that area many time and going there again in a week for a few weeks. The train ride is beautiful. CO has some beautiful sites. Thanks for the ride along. Boe
Welcome to the Colorado mountains and all the trails to explore. I have been traveling on those trails since 1972, first in the back of my Dads Chevy Blazer, then in about 1977 I brought my dirt bike out there and that was a whole lot more fun. In 1986 I bought a new Honda ATC 350X, that I still ride out there occasionally, and now my older daughter and one of my sons ride dual sport motorcycles out there. Normally we go 2 or 3 times per year out there to ride and camp and fish the streams. We just can’t get enough!
@michaelladymon5143 that's awsome!!! On the way home I asked Zac do you think anyone rides 3 wheelers on the trails and now you tell me you ride a Honda ATC 350x!!! Thank you for watching and sharing!!
@@dirtgrainsteelAlso, my 13 year old son rides an ATC 200X. We get alot of looks and compliments when guys see us riding those old machines, and most of them have their own story about a Honda 3-wheeler they either owned or rode in the past.
Hey Brandon Colorado is really a beautiful State. The Wife and I spent a little over a week there several years ago just driving around. We went to Pikes Peak took the Cog Railway all the way to the top it was an Awesome. Rocky Mountain National Park is neat to see as well as Aspen and Colorado Springs and Royal Gorge. Glad you guys got to go enjoy all you can 👏👏
I’ll bet that dam and pipe were used for Placer mining. They would open up a bench on higher ground and wash water over screen and break up rock and silver or gold would settle into pans under the screen. A lot of gold and silver mines started with Placer mining. The type of mining that I find most interesting is dredging I think you would love it Brandon. Basically you dam a river and flood an area along an ancient stream bed then float a barge with gravity screens on it and either a bucket chain or a hoe to feed the screens gold and silver settle in pans mine all day clean the pans in the morning and mine the rest of the day. Raw stone in the front tailings out the back if it’s good ground pans full of gold. Look it up you’ll really enjoy it.
I was born in Colarado Springs at camp Carson Army base 3-25-51.If you go to the cave of Winds , when they tell you to put your nose and wiggle your fingers to show what complete darkness is DON"T

Great video Brandon, thanks for sharing it. It is highly unlikely I would ever visit there being in the UK and my age.
Some beautiful scenery, thanks for taking us along
Looks like a BLAST
I would say the rain helped distinguish between the different rock colors. Some of your route reminded me of remote Alaska in the 60's. Great video
We just moved my daughter and son in law back from Buena Vista in Nov it is beautiful country

That was back in the days when men were men, and the women were sure glad of it. Dave D.
Cool video Brandon did you go to Handies peak nothing like a Colorado handie or so I’ve been told.
I was dead wrong should’ve thought of a mill which is much the same principle busting rock washing out the heavy metals.

chicken wire is to keep porcupines out
Is that your personal Honda 1000 that you carried out? If so, do they require license plates for you to drive on highways?
