    Thank you for posting. Just received my new amp today. Everytime I played anything at high volumes the sub would just shut off. High volumes were not even loud

      @@beastscinema3964 I literally just turned a movie on. I dont think this sub worked from the time I first purchased it because there was never this much air coming out lol. What's a good setting to start with the gain? I know have to run the calibration setup again but just looking for a starting point

    You bought the R-115SW earlier in the model's history. Were later R-115SW units (and the new model SPL-150) also plagued by frequent amplifier failure? In March 2019, I bought a set of Klipsch speakers(including four RF-7III's an RC-64III and an R-115SW). I bought the speakers to hold as a spare system, and I don't know when I'm going to actually set them up. I did briefly test my R-115SW subwoofer and it worked, but, of course, I have no idea what the unit's long term reliability will be. Part of the urgency of buying spare equipment was to buy these things while my state is still one of 19 states that doesn't have an internet tax. I also purchased an Oppo UDP-205 Blu-ray player (modified, code-free, purchased the day after Oppo announced it was going out of business) and an Integra DRC R1.1 A/V preamplifier.( I came to regret buying the Integra, since the Integra's internet connectivity is not wireless). And I'll buy more spare equipment in the next few seasons. I see these purchases as "End Game" purchases that will take me through the rest of my years.(I'm 63 years old, and my main surround sound interest is with surround sound rock music, not movie soundtracks). I continue to use my previous equipment, which includes JBL Studio series speakers (purchased 2003). I had amplifier problems with the JBL S120PII subwoofer a week after purchase. After it was repaired, i never again turned the unit totally "Off", but instead I've used the subwoofer in its' "Auto/Standby" mode. I never again had a problem, and that JBL speaker system(also including four S312II main speakers & an S-Center speaker) is still going strong 16.5 years later.(I also hold a spare JBL S120PII, and only recently tested it, confirming that it works fine, even after many years of sitting here un-used). If I ever set up the Klipsch system, I'll obviously use the R-115SW in its' "Auto/Standby" mode,and hopefully, this will extend the unit's life. I also intend to set the unit's "Gain" at only 75%, to avoid annoying my other family members, just like i do with my JBL subwoofer. The Klipsch RF-7III & the RC-64III seem to get widespread praise, but are the company's subwoofers basically unreliable crap? If so, then I'd better start looking for another brand of subwoofer soon. But first, I have to buy a spare power amplifier and television.(My present amp & television ,from 2009 are still working fine). It seems that roughly 20% of the people who have commented (on the internet) about the R-115SW have encountered amplifier failure. Klipsch is buying Chinese amplifiers for their subwoofers. But they are endangering Klipsch's reputation.

    I have two SPL150 Subwoofers, and one of them broke after just three weeks. Pulled out the amp, and it says "R115SW" all over the board. Looks like they just rebranded the old amp for the new Woofer? Now I am supposed to get a new amp from the seller, hopefully it's a new one and hopefully the other sub doesn't break as well...

    i have that 115 as well and When I connect my Node streamer to the Sub and the node is set to " output level fixed" then I can not use the Sub actually since immediately it starts booming immensely even with just a little bit volume.. Is that a faulty volume adjustement knob or ???

    My unit broke down just under 3 years of use, bought my R115SW about 2 years and 11 months ago... Thought these later-ish units had an improved amp, guess not. The retailer will send me a new amp under warranty, once they're back in stock. Have been waiting for a few weeks now.

      Get ahold of Klipsch they should replace it. I sent them a message about the amp dieing, they asked me for the S/N# and a copy of my receipt. It was on my porch yesterday!

    • @EFerrorfile
      @EFerrorfile 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidmcintier128 Yeah, or since I live in EU - Klipsch itself can't send a new amp from US due to some legal reasons. But the retailer I bought this sub from, contacted the local Klipsch service center and so they sent me a new amp... Which was DOA. So they sent another one, which was a working unit. My sub works again. :)

    Klipsch amps are such garbage... If they're ever out of stock, they always try to upgrade you to an inferior product, while paying for the return shipping for the crap they sold you. It's like buying from a drug dealer~ I highly recommend switching to another brand like SVS, & if you can get your money back, then do it!
