I have about 60 tartan designs in my portfolio. A kiltmaking company on Glasgow, Scotland saw my most recent design, and reached out to me. I know nothing about partnerships or trade agreements. As much as I'd like to, the idea of entering into a business partnership is overwhelming. Beyond that, I have many tartan weaving mills in Scotland to contact before opening any accounts. I'm mainly looking for wool fabric, but it's crazy expensive coming from the UK.

Yes! Stick to your geographical area whenever possible (contact local fashion schools, post on Craig's List, browse Maker's Row, etc.) A freelancer is going to be the least expensive option and that's oftentimes a great place to start so you can get an initial prototype made without breaking the bank!

Thanks, Michael! And I appreciate you alerting me to this - it looks like both Digifair and SynZenBe may no longer be operational, unfortunately. Try Common Objective or Organic Cotton Plus (particularly for newborn textiles - organic cotton!)
I really hope you take the time to reply. 🤞 Firstly, thank you for the great video. 😊 I'm struggling to choose the right fabric for my activewear brand (currently only leggings) that isn't too shiny and doesn't feel plasticky. I'm finding that polyester doesn't agree with me (I've tried 78 % polyester 22% spandex - horrible; 73 % polyester 27 % spandex - a bit better but still feels like plastic). I'm leaning towards nylon & spandex blend. The 87% nylon 13% spandex feels too fuzzy and 'peachy', it's a bit better with 75 % nylon 25% spandex, but still feels fuzzy to the touch so I fear pilling. What material would you suggest for leggings that can be worn everyday and for sports, that are comfortable and durable?
I would recommend Tencel / Lyocell / Modal! These are great activewear fabrics made from natural fibers that are moisture-wicking and antibacterial.

I would look for Tencel (Lyocell) jacquard -- Tencel is derived from beech trees and is great for sportswear!
Thanks for the video! And the email templates that I'll check out in a bit. I'm looking for a high stretch, no pill, black fabric that doesn't leave stretch marks in the fabric as it's used. Something a little heavier in weight.

@@factory45co it's a lightweight seat cover. Swetseat.com. it's the back of the headrest and I found the fabric at Joann's with a fairly small amount, but not sure how to source it after that.
@@hersongjourneys10 I would start by contacting a deadstock supplier like FabScrap or Offset Warehouse and sourcing a bunch of different remnant options. That way you'll be able to test several different fabrics without spending a ton of money. So much of this will come down to testing and seeing what works best and those two resources will allow you to test a bunch of options at once. Then, once you know what type of fiber and fabrication you need, you can source it in higher quantities.

Is chiffon eco friendly?
It depends on the fiber -- silk chiffon can be eco-friendly. Nylon chiffon is not.

You missed number 6. Test main order wrt sample yardage order to make sure fabric is the same quality. Eg blends
