Great list! Love to see Yuma at number one. Really fascinating and complex character in a way many would not expect from YuGiOh. The way Yuma deals with really heavy material and struggles against his own demons of depression, fear and abandonment (that season 2 finale with III goes some DARK places) and continues to have such compassion and patience for people is heartwarming, and the bumps and stumbles he hits along the way keep him grounded, human and likable in a way that similar heroes like Shirou from the Fate series fail to achieve. You just want to root for this kid, and his Japanes VA puts in some goddamn work.
Shirou emiya is a better written character than Yuma Tsukumo. Who ever saying this even tho I'm a big Fate & Yugioh fan. Yuma endgame or character arc wasn't resovled properly. An didn't had a middle ground
Wait wait wait, Yuma is your favorite character? THANK GOD, someone who likes Yuma at least as I like him (even if I prefeir Nash/Shark and Vector as characters) ❤
Great list. Like always I really appreciate how you always give Zexal the respect it deserves and acknowledge the characters that aren’t Kaito. I agree with your top 3 but I would personally swap Shark to 1 and the others down to 2 and 3 respectively.
@@fxzzy__ Tbh, Zexal is a weird beast interms of reception anyways. As far as I heard it is really popular in japan, yet one has a hard time getting western audiences to admit that it is still in the positive boat and ArcV is the start of the overall quality decline(sadly. They really had us in the first hard). Though I guess I cannot technically make a full stance because I still never watched Season 2. It's just that Season 1 is crazy underrated already.

How good was Vector to you? I heard in the japense sub he apparently saw his parents kill themselves and he was driven mad to kill everyone or something. He is a funny but powerful evil villain.
Yeah in the Japanese version, his dad tries to kill him because Vector said he wanted to make peace with his enemies. His mum in the last second protects Vector and she gets slashed by Vector's dad's sword. Then, as she's dying, Vector's dad, who was currently suffering from an illness, dies from supposedly a heart attack on the spot due to the combination of the shock from killing his wife and the illness. Vector then cries as he holds his dead mother in his hands, Don Thousand shows up, alters his memories to make Vector believe he was the one who killed his parents, which then completely turns him into a psychopathic murderer

My problem with Reiji personally is how for a person who is so composed, so smart, so talented at dueling, is that he doesn't really become an actual leader for the Lancers. Never in Arc-V does the Lancers feel like one true team, they all have drastically different goals, making them feel like they're together for the sake of compromise. Reiji was supposed to bring the Lancers together, to become one (pun unintended) unit and truly care about one another. However, Reiji is just always on the sidelines, especially in the Synchro Arc and it's not only until the fight with Akaba Leo and Zarc is when he acts (and he loses). I like how he feels like a wildcard throughout Arc-V, and has this unspoken power over him, but as the leader of the Lancers, he needed to be more than that.
I mean, it makes sence for him to be that at the start. He is basically kaiba multiplied by 10, but he is too focussed on the goal to see the road almost. He just goes to neo domino city and is like "aight, you will give us a chance and we will pull through because I am reiji and I am smart". Too bad arcv kinda fell off the cliff in the second half, rite? they really could have done something interessting with it.
@@lpfan4491 Plus he's so controlling and how he tells Yuya to focus on winning on his Duel with Yuri as well as ignoring the possibility of Zarc's revival just because he wants revenge on Leo makes him just as responsible for Zarc reviving through Yuya as his father.

Maraino Federico Beraldi revolver and shark were both villains who joined forces with the mc against bigger villains. they are similar. you want to tell me that revolver is more similar to kaiba than shark?
Dario Hieras rivals always have more similarities with Kaiba despite their roles since some of them are villains or anti heroes. Kaiba/Kaito,Reiji and Revolver share many of similarities when it comes to their characters like having family issues or their fathers were villains at some point in the story. Joey/SB/Shark, were protagonists’ kinda friend or their supporters/second important character they all were involved or dealt with bullies and other things as well.
