number 400 looked like it had a v-6 looking at the headers., these cars evolved into sprint cars , flat head fords and chevy 283,s ruled unless some body showed up with a 270 cubic inch 4 cylinder offy

maybe. but, it could also be a flathead V8 Ford. they only had 3 pipes per side
