In my next live, I wanna be a sea lion, lol. Just recognized that I totally love your voice in documentarys - combined with the music near end episode. So great.
Hahaha, in my next life I want to be a sea lion at Solomon Gulch Hatchery! Looks like they have it made! Thank you for the kind words about the episode and my narrating voice!
We just finished watching this video. It was beautiful. The rain and fog didn't deter from the beauty. Cora, your narration is as good as your singing is lovely. We've tried to follow your videos in order but there's a problem with that. There are no numbers in the title. So, trying to find the next and then the next episode is impossible. We've ended up getting a very scattered version of your travels. I don't suppose that can be remedied at this point. Other than that....your videos are beautiful, informative, inspiring and enjoyable.
If you check their playlist it gets easier, but you would need to manually click the next episode if you dont want to watch it backwards in time :) th-cam.com/play/PL1OUAaNqG-GsfZP7WddOhN-11EtmPkOXC.html
Thank you so much for this SUPER valuable feedback. We’ve actually been thinking of adding the episode numbers in, either on the titles or the thumbnails. Do you mind us asking what is the primary way you watch our videos? Is it on a TV, or on a desktop computer, or on a phone? We’re asking because user navigation is different with each device and we want to see how your browsing experience on our channel looks, according to the device you use. Again, thank you for speaking up! 🙏
Every video I watch on this channel seems to surpass the previous, and that's no mean feat! The stunning videography of the mist and mountains, the underwater salmon scene, the museum... And, of course, the usual education that comes in every episode. ❣
Great video. I've never been to Valdez in fishing season. The hike behind the hatchery to the dam is beautiful in the snow. You should visit everywhere in Alaska in winter and summer to get different perspectives.
That would be so cool! Unfortunately, our little Prius limits us quite a bit. It’s a crazy miracle the roads and weather and temps worked out so perfectly for our trip north last winter!
@@ArtWeThereYet You're able to drive a Prius in the winter to Valdez. I only say that since you're a local. Just check the weather and 511 beforehand for Thompson Pass. That's all.
Another wonderful and moving video about the beauty and incredible surroundings that Alaska offers. I have spent time in The Fat Mermaid and agree with your opinion...simply delightful. You mix of video and music are unsurpassed as is your commentary. I have walked where you walked and loved every minute of my time in Valdez...I am eagerly awaiting your next adventure in Alaska. Thank you so very much Cora and Jose...much love to you both...Bob
Thank you so much, Bob! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the latest and that we did Valdez justice! We can't wait to share our next adventure with you!
We just found your channel and are thoroughly enjoying the Alaska series. I’m recovering from the first of 2 total knee replacements and this is just what the Doctor ordered😉. To top it off, we were visiting my daughter in the Big Lakes/Wasilla area for 14 days in July and realize we were in some of the same areas as you guys were in the same time frame. Fun to relive the amazing time we had up there.
Awww, we’re so glad you found us and we’re helping the time pass a little faster ❤️ You must be excited for when you’re all healed up from both knee replacements though. Hello hiking! And that’s so cool we were in the area at the same time! I think that’s about when we were in….Talkeetna? Or maybe Hatcher Pass by that time. Not sure - it all blurs together!
@@ArtWeThereYet we were there July 21 -August 6. We got the two weeks it didn’t rain, except the day we spent in Talkeetna. Hatcher Pass was totally fogged in, but Denali Park and The Matanuska Glacier had great weather. Stayed at the Naughty Otter in Seward. And yes, I can’t wait to get back to hiking. I so look forward to exploring more of Alaska.
Another beautiful video, it makes me want to go back there. Aside from stunning videography, I love your narration- you use beautiful words, poetic- you’re really a songwriter! Keep on exploring.❤
Did a search and ended up in this video, went to valdez twice for a seasonal job. Such an amazing place & wonderful people, definetly a piece of heaven on earth.
WOW! You have gifts for this work. I hated Valdez when I visited. You make me look forward to returning. Your visuals and narration are professional. Thank you.
Wow, thank you very much! We’re so happy to hear the video helped shift your perspective a bit. Ours certainly needed a shift when we arrived in Valdez and it was just rain, rain, rain. We’re happy we found the beauty in it and were inspired to make this episode around that idea 😊
I might have missed it but when was this recorded? We are planning a family road trip during the next few month around Alaska to explore. We currently are live in Alaska now. We will make our 1 year here in August, so we have so much to learn.
I spent 3 yrs there after the Exxon spill.. Loved it!! For reasons, i had to come back to the lower 48, but Valdez and Alaska in general holds a special place in my heart! I will go back one day!!
I just found your Alaska videos and immediately subscibed!!! Epic photography and narration. I'm going on my 2025 alaska bucket list trip. I looked on Google maps for your private peninsula campsite.... couldn't find it. Do you want to give up the location? Thanks for all your work!!
Fabulous! Love the drone shot coming at the bus with amazing background. Never knew the bear and salmon egg thing, thank you. Can’t believe Jose put down that burger at the Fat Mermaid 🏆 Don’t know how you turned the bus around to pull straight out from the campsite…Magic (Bus). Great work!!!
So happy you are enjoying ALL of them! 😊 We’ll never get tired of hearing our work is appreciated. And we so appreciate that you take the time to send us kind words of encouragement - thank you! 🙏
Check out the Brown Bears from Brooks Falls in Katmai. High-grading can seem wasteful, but in the end nothing goes to waste. Other bears that aren't as strong, birds, and other wildlife all benefit.
We would LOVE to see the bears at Katmai. Unfortunately our budget wasn’t enough to do the plane rides, but MAN that would be amazing to see! You’re right - nothing goes to waste.
Pink salmon are actually a two year cycle fish. You might be thinking of a different species of Pacific Salmon that spends more time at sea? Here’s more info on the Solomon Gulch pinks from Valdez Fisheries Association: www.valdezfisheries.org/the-hatchery/
🎉POLL TIME! 🎉 Who did you like more - the SEA LIONS or the BLACK BEARS?
Sea lions without watching this episode yet, waiting 5 more mins until it comes live :D
Tough call. One smells like a big fish and the other like a big rug thats been left out in the forest for years. 🤢 I would hug neither 🥴
Black bears. I'm not a sea man.
Very descriptive and well put! You should be a video narrator@@burninoutloud :)
The bears do look a littler more cuddly!@@alfredodejuan390

I wanna say something but just speechless ...
😅
Awww well that says a lot. Thank you!
❤As described, unreal beauty in the rain! Cora, your story telling is fantastic. We learned so much in this episode! Thank you!!
Thank you so much, Tom!
Really this video was just an experience. I am gonna miss Alaska when you leave.
We will too!
The photography, videography, and storytelling are MAGNIFICENT.
Wow, thank you!
Agreed! Spectacular!
Great one AWTY! The long pauses help to bring you there in person. I could feel the cold dampness of that fog.
Thanks Dave!!
Maybe because I have felt the cold dampness of that fog 🙂@@ArtWeThereYet

Just a note to say your videos are amazing and very professional and high quality in my opinion. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
We really appreciate you saying that. Thank you! Welcome aboard the journey with us!
Black Bears
How about the grizzly (or brown bear? Not quite sure...) that showed up? That was pretty darn cool, right?

Loved your video - the photography was awesome. What time of the year were you there?
Hi there, thank you so much for watching, we are so happy you enjoyed the video.
We were there from August 26th to September 3rd.
@@ArtWeThereYet thank you - we are going a 3 month visit to the Yukon and Alaska this summer. Love your videos.
You are going to love it!
im going to valdez next week. ive been before but its probably one of my favorite places to go in alaska.
Understandable! It's a beautiful town!
You really got some amazing shots. We plan to travel here next summer. Lynn and Danny
Your voice is so soothing and it's a wonderful DOC. I'm heading to Alaska next week and cannot wait
Ooh you are going to have so much fun! Enjoy!

This was late August/early September. Have so much fun on your Valdez adventure! You will love it!
Thanks appreciate the feedback. We have learned so much hear already. I’m trying to talk my kids into homeschooling to travel.
I spent 3 yrs there after the Exxon spill.. Loved it!! For reasons, i had to come back to the lower 48, but Valdez and Alaska in general holds a special place in my heart! I will go back one day!!
And you will! That must have been pretty tough to be there right after the spill..
Another great video! Heading there in June... Thanks!
Ooh, that's exciting! Enjoy it!!
The narration in this video is amazing.
Thank you!!! 🙏
This is fantastic!!!!! Wonderful everything.
Did I mention how AWESOME THIS IS?? Subscribed.
Awwww thank you, Faith! Welcome aboard! 😊🫶
Really beautifully done 🙌

Still in AK :) Heading out of Alaska end of June

Que bonito va a ser que tus padres vayan a Perú. Lo de pedir asistencia en el aeropuerto es una buena idea.

Beautiful video. We just wonder what month was you there when you video the salmon at Solomon gulch? Thanks
Thank you! We fished there in early September, around the 4th.
♥
You said in the video that the fish go out for a year and then return the next year but they go out for four years before they return

Wonderful video and info, but how can you not mention Melvin Dempsey?(my ancestors)
So happy you enjoyed the video! We didn't know about the story and history of Melvin Dempsey - just did some research and what an awesome history!
Nothing about what happened to Valdez on Good Friday 1964? Or about the old town? You've missed some major history.
What month were you in Valdez?
We were there late August/early September
