    Please note Fortress and Evolution STL will be different, I may not have been too clear on that

      @@Rolohaun thank you so much for the reply!! Amazing videos BTW, so excited to build my first rook. Do some of the models need support?

      @birdmananyweather1681 I don't belive so, if there are it would be the motor pods but very minor

    Wow, sometimes it feels like you're pumping out more printers than Creality, lol! This is awesome, can't wait to build it.

    I just want anyone who's wondering to know, the person who designed The Rook is Super-Decent, super concerned about providing a good experience, and very detailed minded. I know he'll stand by his products to the max, and be there for his users when they absolutely need some guidance. If you're interested in building your first 3D printer, the kit will be fantastic, and the journey will be an adventure you'll want to remember for a long long time. These words were not paid for in any way. I know the created, and have learned over time that he is an honorable man.

    love seeing how these machines are evolving. I've been recommending the rook for newer hobbyists that have been intrigued but intimidated by the idea/cost of building their first custom printer. it definitely looks like a wonderful and fun first building experience.

    Nice!!! I love the surprise!!! But, I am going to have to wait till after I move to print/build these. I already have 10 printers to move from Texas to Hawaii.

    I just bought the rook evolution files, because I think this is a cool project, also I have like 10 stepper motors laying around of a rebuilt creality printer, so making the 2020 one will be my little project from this
    I also happen to have a board that was gifted to me as well that will probably fit this perfect, since I want/need a small footprint printer so I dont need to run my big bulky printers for smaller things

    Can't wait for the Fortress! What an awesome surprise :)
    Will acrylic panels be an option now or are they still have structural elements like on the Evo, so still need to be printed?
    Presumably those Fortress panels are a bit larger too and won't print on 150mm build plate?

    • @Rolohaun
      @Rolohaun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you could use acrylic panels however the linear rails still attach to the upper panels, some 2020 could be added though to fix that, fortress panels are larger

    Purchasing now! What's the estimated filament and print time for each the evo and fortress on a mk3?

    • @Rolohaun
      @Rolohaun  ปีที่แล้ว

      Number of parts: 90
      print time is hard to measure
      Total filament used: 2722 g
      Panels: 1584 g
      Everything else: 1138 g

  • @unrealbasic1612

    I'd rather see the rook 180 enclosed, however I noticed the rook 180 is really weak. I dropped it from a couple of feet and half the parts broke in half and I'm printing on the Bambu X1-Carbon so don't think it's bad print quality.

    • @therunophil
      @therunophil ปีที่แล้ว

      it could actually be the print quality, CNC Kitchen made a video about the Bambulab printing too fast for strong parts in stock configuration (and how to fix it).

    • @unrealbasic1612
      @unrealbasic1612 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK I’ll look into it, thanks

    • @Rolohaun
      @Rolohaun  ปีที่แล้ว

      the 12mm rods are heavy and can easily break a 3d printed frame. The Rook 180 MK1 update should help make it easier to enclose

  • @MrLelopes

    Why does it sound like it’s dying when it moves? Some really bad vibration

    • @Rolohaun
      @Rolohaun  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think a lot of it is the table it is sitting on, thin plastic top. but the linear rails are attached to the side panels so it might be some of that too
