if you put a metal jig on the end of your line instead of a lead with the mackerel feathers you have a chance of catching a cod, pollack,wrasse or even a ling if your lucky
Pasties are a true killer bait, I caught 2 drunken Cornish lads and an Irish builder the last time I tried them :)
Great video guys, thanks.Went shark fishing out of Looe in the early 70s, can't remember the name of the boat but I think the skipper was called Ogie.I was lucky enough to catch a nice 5ft Blue. Beautiful fish...!!The same thing happened to us with our chum bag, a Blue was circling the boat then it just cruised up to the nylon bag, took it in it's mouth and with a few shakes of it's head tor it to shreds....!!Fantastic...!!
Graeme there is no doubt about it your fishing is awesome were it coarse or sea and beach it the best fishing show on any other program or TH-cam. Love your shark fishing on your fly rod so see what you can do trying to catch shark on wait for a pen rod lol 😂 😂😂😂
It's my dream to catch a Shark in British waters, trouble is, I've only been in a boat twice in my life !. If you ever need a Noddy shark angler to show the ropes, I am that Noddy !. lol

Those garfish are really good to eat! Never mind the green bone inside. They are also great live bait for amberjacks, dentex and leerfish and you can use their shiny skin as bait for mackerel.

we had a 11 foot blue nose through a breakfast sandwich thrown overboard, just to get to the Ham. An 11 foot shark carefully picked it's fav part ...that my friends is what I call a discerning nose.

omg I caught a needle fish in Hawaii and put it in Kahala Hilton open aquarium! 😆 ... I was about 15 or 16 in the 80s ... and not too bright yet... 🤓... they scolded me and I was off fishing again.... I wonder how many he ate before they got him out!

Most small boats slam in certain conditions, and it is not just Dory hulls either. Reducing speed will mean a better ride.

Would you ever think of using circle hooks? I use 'em ever since I gut hooked a shark and he more than likely died after he went back. Every shark since was hooked in the jaw.
I don't use circle hooks,just regular"J" hooks.Certainly the sharks don't seem to die as I have caught several sharks,and even Marlin,that had old hooks in them .The outside of the hooks were rusting,but the portion still "in the meat" were clean and not rusted.Just a point of interest.

Graeme, be good to see you out filming shark fishing and accidentally catch and realise one of the BlueFin Tuna that swim around the UK and Ireland.
We tried trolling for them only 10 days ago,but from our own 17-footer.Getting a hookup in your own boat would be the way to go for us,so you never know.

Graeme, are you spooling your TLD 25s with straight 50lb mono when after the 'big' sharks or putting some braid backing on to increase capacity?
No,I use straight mono.I have seen many big fish lost on braid,more so than mono.Don't forget we can follow a big shark with our boat,so line capacity is not a problem.

You should come to a fishing place called BK fishery in Cornwall it's a carp fishery
josh taylor carp fishing seems popular in the UK, here in Australia they are considered a pest and is illegal to return them to the water

Can't help you on that one as we never use charters as we have our own boat. Try a few tackle shops in the area you want to fish,they will undoubtedly have ties with charter boats.

Yes,even had one I tagged of mine in Florida ,went back later on another trip and caught the very same shark !!
What size of mainline do you use for this? I have 30lb on my reel.

why don't you have aleminium reels thos black ones are not very strong
The reels have taken Hammerheads to 500 in the Florida Keys from a self drive boat (On our playlist-Vintage),plus Porbeagle sharks to same weight(On playlist),and numerous Tarpon over 100lbs,not to mention stacks of Marlin.They never skipped a beat and are about 30 years old.I strip them down and service myself.Just occasional replacement fibre drag plates.
TAFishing sorry for the belated answer but those shimano TLD 's that you are using i also yoused them and just after a week they broke of by a fish and i always take care of my reels like they are my kids bit then a switched over to the penn international reels

Not 100 percent but I believe there is contact info and a serial #. If the shark is re-caught that person can report the catch and in return receives some MINOR compensation. Last I heard you get a free hat. I'm in California though. Could be different for you. Serves to keep track of migrations growth rates and such info
