I didn't think much of these guys back in the day, but now I can say they have great talent. Nuno is one of the top dogs in guitar playing. My hats off to you guys.
this song will alive forever, every thing is awesome In this song lyrics music and vocal specially I love the tapping at last, and one of the best acoustic version..............ever.
the true ballad music is created by rock, admit it or not,i mean a 90s song will always be plaid again, once a great tune is made people from any generation will love it. How many artist had cover this song for instance. i mean - okay chris medina what are words are great but will it be plaid in the radio for the next 20 years i dont think so.
omg!! this is the best version of more than words!! it sounds so nice and unique, its nice how paul and nuno both add little parts to the song and the solo
awesome!! about what nuno said, i do think that paul gilbert's a little more technical and fast, but nuno is also great, plays with a lot of passion and power, and technique too. it's great to see them both (and gary cherone too) playing together. i think that, besides joe satriani or vai (who play instrumental rock), this two are the best guitarists in modern hard rock, maybe i'm forgetting someone, but this two definetely are among the best.
Check out their show at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.......they make me proud to be from the Heart & Soul of this great country....New England of course (home of champions)
lol, his name is also mentioned in the video and title of the vid. The singer (Cherone) and the dark haired guitarist belonged to a band called Extreme who were fairly big at the end of the 90s, late 80s. This song was their biggest hit, a dreamy ballad designed to get girls into bed. A lot of people dismissed them as soft rock, but they were a very talented band. You could see them as a technically superior version of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Check out this tune that that GARY CHERONE recorded vocals on. Its under the band name "ANKLELOCK". Tune is "Comin' To Get You"- which is on ITUNES, AMAZON, NAPSTER, CDBABY and so on... His vocals kick ass!
Well like Mr. Big,s To be with you, Extreme went Big with this song. It's sad to say that because of Media Publicity and Group Misunderstanding that Great Bands who make Great Music Crumble due to Popularity.
Um, The band Extreme performed it on the 1990 album, "Extreme II: Pornograffitti." Writing credits go to the band members, Nuno Bettencourt and Gary Cherone, Gary wrote the song his version is best.
Extreme absolutely do have funk elements. They were commonly described as funk metal which is exactly what they themselves referred to themselves as. And yes, Gary Cherone does have more of a classic rock voice, doesn't do the whiteboy rap thing that Kiedis does. They're pretty similar, although Extreme tends to be a bit more complicated. I like 'em both.
they're coming to german: 05.11.2008 Köln (DE) @ Essigfabrik. I think they released the album in german. since they're doing the european tour my guess is yes. ;P
well, i do agree, and the reason i didn't mention petrucci is because many would have replied me that he's progressive rock or metal, but he's definitely a monster like these two. i would love to see my three favorite together: petrucci, gilbert, and nuno. gilbert's played with both of them, but i think it would be awesome if the three played together. and yeah, yngwie is fat haha(but also petrucci), but he is awesome too
Was Paul Gilbert playing 'Mr & Mrs'. Headphones on, piping in 'Vivaldi's four seasons. He was guessing the song they were playing and hoping they knew each other well enough to be on the same page?
@misterlaff that's not fair. you seen him perform, i guess? he's moving so wildly that OF COURSE he misses some notes. i like his style, he is dynamic with an enormous stage presence. take extreme as a whole, and it's just perfect.
i know,. he's probably the strongest guitar player, and certainly one of the best, but i saw him half a year ago and he was fat. doesn't matter, he and paul gilbert are my favorite players ever, and they're just gonna get better
2:07 - 2:27 solo is soooooooooooooooo sweet!!! I love the arrangement of Nuno for that, lovely!
This has to be the BEST version I've ever heard of this song!! Paul Gilbert and Nuno did a great job together with guitar.
Immortal song, awesome version !!!
"Gary, Nuno, Paul, Gary, Nuno, Paul..."
*looooooool*
probably one of my favourite songs..so heartfelt, brings a tear to my eye every time..
Gary and Nuno...They always make me smile :)

That was great. Thanks for sharing that. Always nice to see two guitar greats on stage sharing the spotlight.
I wish you guys would get back together and do some shows! One of the few bands I've missed over the years and always loved all your material.
Just Awesome! Nuno and Paul on the same stage.....what a treat!!!
4:39 is so pretty. it almost sounds like wind howling. I just learned about Extreme a few weeks ago but I am hooked. Their music is beautiful. :)
Great song!
I love her..
this song will be a legend among us..

The rockers are the most passionate. #Fact
I have met Nuno a few times through mutual friends in L.A. and he was such a nice guy. Amazing guitar player and person.

Nuno Bettencourt and Gary Cherone....Gary Cherone is the lead singer. Awesome singer.
Oh man , what the music !
BEAUTIFUL SMILE AT 4.11 FROM GARY CHERONE
that made me smile..!
Love guitar, have always loved this, and love the extras that Nuno added on guitar!
It sucks living in the UK and not getting to see gigs like this.

this is fucking priceless! surely one of the best songs ever made...
great vid. haven't heard this song in years.
It protects his ears while looking good.
omg 3 living legends :)

Nuno said: He always win!
That's right, but he did an awesome arrangement to the song!

The show was amazing! i got a pick from Nuno!:P
what a solo
+Guido Bottazzo SOLOS !! Bettencourt and Gilbert are clearly under the best ever...
cherone just flashed a great sincere happy smile at 4:10. i like that
they're back with the band (Extreme)
Saw them in lisboa yesterday!:P
Essa e a melodia mais bunita do mundo!
Me too. The first like two-thirds of the song is a duet, but at the end theres a third vocal part so Paul singing would have been perfect.
Whoa, what's this? Paul Gilbert playing with half of Extreme. Awesome!
it's great!!
he's there because this is guitar wars... Gary is making the guest appearance
Oh... I didn't know that! Thanks for telling me!
Paul is the fucking amazing best guitar player all over this fucking world...
GREAT!!!!
genial, es lo mejor me encanta son solo palabras

veri good.EXTREME THE BEST

guitar wars. Hard rock Cafe, the album!
they're coming to german: 05.11.2008 Köln (DE) @ Essigfabrik.

paul gilbert tocó con todo el mundo =D
2006...based on when it was posted, and I think that's when they first got back together, no?
It's his signature afaik.
N-Series. (his main axe is a N4)
hail to the lyric writer :)
Roll-on!
i was wondering why he always wears those head phones, thanks for the input
Amazing Ballad. how do they get that amazing tone?
Was Paul Gilbert playing 'Mr & Mrs'. Headphones on, piping in 'Vivaldi's four seasons. He was guessing the song they were playing and hoping they knew each other well enough to be on the same page?
Lucky you!
Cheers!
Thats really cool! Do u know wether they will release it in Germany too???
guys, what do you like more? more than words or to be with you?
@misterlaff
that's not fair. you seen him perform, i guess? he's moving so wildly that OF COURSE he misses some notes. i like his style, he is dynamic with an enormous stage presence. take extreme as a whole, and it's just perfect.
Japan I think?? dont quote me. This is also a cd you can buy, I have it and its called "guitar wars". Hope this helps, Minisy.
Great hand acting at 1:51 on "Took those words away". Did he study at the Actors' Studio?
Can someone tell me from which year this performance is??? And does someone know, what Gary Cherone is doing today?? He is such a great singer
I always tried to sing the harmonies on this song...and failed miserably. I think Nuno has the tough part with this one...damn, he's amazing...
I love paul's face XD
2:07 is the best part
@mankalabeat considering jimmy page loves there shows. he goes out and sees them i london, when they play
GuitarWars not sure the date but i think 2003
i know,. he's probably the strongest guitar player, and certainly one of the best, but i saw him half a year ago and he was fat. doesn't matter, he and paul gilbert are my favorite players ever, and they're just gonna get better
