    There is a 2005 model mini cooper, what does this temperature show and what should be the average?

  • @irinavoronkova2050
    @irinavoronkova2050 ปีที่แล้ว

    IHi! n my mini, the clutch was changed, after that the temperature showed -40F, my mechanic said that the temperature sensor was not working and replaced it. As a result, when the car is not started, the temperature shows correctly, according to the forecast, as soon as you start the engine, the engine temperature rises, the air temperature indicator also rises. For example, a cold car is 76F, after 30 minutes of movement 85F.. Thanks)

    Will this cause the revs to hunt ive got a mini r56 and it idles rough

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on your year. But I dont think so, it simply displays the temp on the one in this video.

    • @eddiejackson4470
      @eddiejackson4470 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CoolAirVw thanks just trying to eliminate the problems it could be just done a cylinder head gasket on it and reground the valves in it starts great just on idle the revs are up and down might be the exhaust cam might be a tooth or two out or map sensor its a r56 n14 engine 2007

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eddiejackson4470 if you have a scanner that can check fuel trim look there, look for vacuum leaks, smoke check or spray with start fluid to find vacuum leaks. If its out of time even 1 tooth it will trigger trouble code.

    could a faulty sensor cause a/c to only blow hot?

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not this sensor on this car. It was only a input to the instrument cluster. Other cars may be different.

    I have already replaced the sensor, but still reading -40. What’s next?? Is there some type of fuse or does it go directly to a module?

    Hi, in my tach the screen is having some issues. Sometimes i can see just a half of the digits and on other times there's no numbers at all, i mean, it looks like if the screen was so bad that does not show the complete numbers and you can not read cause is unreadable, what can i do? Thanks for your time.

    • @CoolAirVw

      Its probably an issue with the display. Google it ans see if enthusiasts have come up with a fix and its possible there might be services to send it off to for repair,

    Will this sensor going out cause the check engine light to come on?

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it didn't make a check engine light on this car, nor did it trigger a trouble code, but it certainly could be used for the fuel injection on different years. Lots of cars have a ambient air temp sensor.

      Probably gets that cold up where you are in Canada, but it never gets that cold here. I don't think I've seen anything lower than about -15 here (that I remember anyway), and that would be real rare.

    • @EXOVCDS
      @EXOVCDS 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      CoolAirVw Rm Not all of Canada will run into cold temperatures. 5F (-15c) is the coldest that I have seen on the west coast of Canada. My brother on the east coast will see temperatures as low as -30c (-22F).

    Could this cause a fan to run continuously, resulting in a drained battery? No overheating, but the fan stays on; not just a few minutes but indefinitely until the batter is dead.

      I have this issue on my 2007 cooper s. Coolant gets to 111degrees C triggering fan. I been told that the -40C reading will trick the ecu into making the car run hotter to account for the low outside temp. Makes sense really but it doesn’t seem to be a concrete answer from any body.

    good morning I come from a post from you on the Internet, I hope you can help me I have a jetta 2001 autimatic 01M transmission the problem that presented is the following I made a change of fluid tranmicion.
    After the change the vehicle once arrived at its operating temperature I throw the code P0768 Solenoid D with a generic OBDll scanner, once the vehicle is cooled the code disappears and reappears once it warms up therefore the transmition enters in safe mode (stays in 3rd
    speed) my question is that I should check and if you could help me to know which is the solenoid D
    since I do not have a vagcom to give me specific codes for your help many thanks
