In my lifetime the physical earth lost a spirit in Jerry Garcia. But that spirit travels the universe for all time. I started listening to their music in 1971 and I saw them in 1972 at the Hollywood Bowl. I hitch-hiked from Texas to California and back for that one.
What a gem this Morning Dew is. Jerry and Rosebud delivering the goods. This is one of the sweetest of the latter day versions. Jerry just pulls stars out of the sky. He is transcendent on this performance.

The Dean Smith Center shows were amazing. Both night delivered. I remember seeing Jerry singing Morning Dew and the spot light was just on him. Absolutely gorgeous. ✌💚
Since I lived 30 minutes away from these two shows it was a no brainer. Chapel Hill (a cool town on its own) was a madhouse both days. This was one of the many highlights of both nights. I didn’t make but 15 in total but both of these shows were easily in my top 5
At the time I walked out after this song. I didn't want them to screw it up with a "I Fought the Law" encore. It hurt a little to hear the weight from outside the arena.

99% of the shows after Brent passed were weak. By this point they were doing better Stella Blue’s than Morning Dews. And this one fits in that category. The shows in The Omni before these to were lame. No energy Garcia is bored stiff. The landover shows were lame. It’s just the way it was post Brent.

Without a doubt, the very best Dew I ever got to see live. What I most remember about this was watching Phil playing along with Jerry and going "wow."
