Another idea for interior is get phone screen protectors and cut out the dash shape and stick it over the instrument panel for glass look

Great build. I am doing the base R32 for a group build in the same colour and the same wheels, chosen before seeing yours, but hoping it comes out close to this nice. Will be checking out more of your vids while I wait for my kit and wheels to arrive.

One of my all time favorite model kits. I don’t know how many times I bought this kit as well as the regular black r32 gtr Tamiya kits over the years to either build or used to kit bash for the engine and other parts to use in other builds. I’ve done the same with the Tamiya Supra kit as well for the 2j. Don’t get me wrong cause the hobby design engine kits are nice but in some kits the look a little to small and outta scale and why pay almost 50 bucks if not more for their engine kit when I can pay a complete Tamiya model with the engine and car for 20 to 30 bucks and have plenty of parts left over and can still build the car without the engine if I used the engine outta it for something else.

I painted a aoshima car kit midnight purple 2 and it is only purple in some lights but mostly it is black. What do you think I should do? Although I have only put one coat of laquer on
Owhh hey, MP2 purple is like that..it only got like 2D or 3D effects unlike MP3, its 5D effects with purple, blue, gold, and some others pigments in the paint

Who makes the display cases? And how do you secure the model to the base?
Its from tamiya acrylic case..i secure them just using blu-tac / sticky tack
Nicely done what glue do you use for the models
I use few different types of glue depending on the parts and surface. Tamiya cement, UHU glue, and some super strong liquid glue
I have used some of that UHH glue but it’s too playable when you put the likes of mirrors on you can pull on them and it’s like elastic I have used double sided tape for the windows because I don’t want to fog the up with glue
How much did you thin out the paint to get it to go on that nice?
Normally its 50/50 or 40 to 60thinner 😁
I tried to re-create this car in GTA Online and I couldn't get the paint just right and I didn't find the right rims, but I'm still pretty sure that it's the most beautiful car I've ever owned.

Yeah, the greatest problem of theese projects: how to have the right paint? I've a 1/43 Bburago (toy) Diablo which is painted in Diablo jota purple. I don't think that I can find the jota, special edition and Lamborghini, purple from automotive at reasonable price, priorly considering that I only need to cover a pay of scratches on the wing. I hope that the Midnight purple, color of special Nissans that didn't have success in Italy, may be quite similar, and however a more serious kit about one of theese cars maybe required to don't waste moneys.

Hmm I always thought the flakes in automotive paint would be too large for models but this seems like a reasonable size
Haha its bigger for sure..0.3mm airbrush cant spray..im using 0.5mm -1.0mm

I use 1.0mm, but my airbrush had issues even with big size 1.0mm..normally they use 0.5mm only haha

With this kit when I’m sanding the body with 1200 grit sandpaper do I also sand the transparent bonnet?
Yes you have to if you want to paint it😁 if not the paint will not stick.
