    from "what value is there in an introduction if you can't even remember my name?" to "what value is there in life if we are not together?"

      I think James' vibrant character kept sneaking through his portrayal of Tom Lefroy 😂

    1:20 I love this shot here with the tree dividing the shot unevenly and trapping Jane in a corner, as she talks about her locality. A beautiful visual way to communicate that she feels suffocated by her milieu and inadequate compared to Lefroy's presumably vast experience and prospects.

    At the risk of "being so severe on my own sex" that is such a realistic conversation a man would have with a woman: she tells him all the things he did that pissed her off, without flat out saying he did, and he responds with "And you're sure I've not offended you", only for her to insist "no" with an implied middle finger.

      Because it was expensive and don't fit with the actual activities at modern work, they were rich and from a first world country, if they were pour and from my country we wouldn't used that kind of clothes, well that's is what I tell myself when I think a would like to dress like this xD

    I was initially going to ask - does anyone recognize the forest - but then around 1:14 became very distracted by whatever's caught in her dress/shoe as she's walking...?

    I honestly think someone else should've played Jane in this movie (and no, not Keira Knightley!! - she plays in all those victorian romantic movies jeeezzzzz)) :D :D

      Indeed...her modern mannerisms dont fit.
      Carey Mulligan or Jenna Coleman would've been a better choice.

      actually I think she's only been in a couple films that are set in the victorian era.. the other ones tho yeah she's got a lot of period dramas.

    • @ittssanaa
      @ittssanaa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Keira wouldn't fit for this role but she is the queen of period drama!!!
      Anne is perfect for this role. Maybe if it wouldn't be her than Carey Mulligan would be exellent choice but Anne is doing great!!

    this should serve as to what NOT to do when followed by a strange man in the woods, alone. what was the pre-Victorian (Georgian) era equivalent of pepper spray?

    She's a movie star from the United States of America. We call it the US. Us she wearing reenactment clothes for 1812 war dramas. We do that at museum grounds. I show up in modern clothes.

      I liked anna in this role. But, even as non british speaker, i was not ok with her "british" accent. E.g. Zellweger as Bridget had amazing british accent, but with Anne, I still hear american english, with wannabe british sound here and there.
      In this case i prefer to watch this movie dubbed to our lang, so I can simply enjoy Anne as Jane and be bothered with the accent :)
