  • Kid On Bicycle Won't Wait For Rare Sunday Train! Railroad Switching In Lawshe, Ohio. Locomotives On Both Ends Of Train Do Railroad Switching On Rusty Rails East End Of Peavine Branch Line. My truck sunk in the mud near the railroad bridge while I was turning around. This is Part 2 for the video from 2 days ago on the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. First we see the train at the railroad crossing next to the Seaman Life Squad building in Seaman, Ohio. A couple of kids had a great chance to see a Sunday rock train but blew it and kept riding. Lol, not rail fans. The track here on the east end of the line doesn't get much action and can go weeks without a train. Since the quarry has opened for rail service we are starting to see weekend trains. This rarely happened until recently. This is the same train that I filmed stopping for a tree on the tracks in Winchester, Ohio. This video shows the train continue its journey to Plum Run. This starts in Seaman, Ohio and the next town we see it in is Lawshe. I was going to film it going over the railroad bridge there but I got stuck in mud while turning around. I have parked in that same spot but on this day it was nothing but mud. After spinning my tires in both directions I was finally able to get out and decided to film it up the road in town. They picked up a covered hopper car on the ex passing track and we see the train reversing past the cemetery. After that I went to Peebles to film the train crossing Main Street in front of McCoy Lumber. The quarry is just a couple of miles past Peebles at Plum Run. The hopper cars were spotted there for loading and the crew went home.
    Filmed in 4K on August 7, 2022

Bet you never got stuck like I did one time. Had my wife's car, a 1999 Dodge Neon and decided I was going to check out a little country road that went to the tracks.
Well the grass was tall along the center line of this little road, only wide enough for one vehicle to go through at a time.
Well, because of the tall grass I didn't know the center of the 2 dirt paths where the tires ran was humped up. If I'd have had my F150 at the time, it wouldn't have been an issue.
So anyway, I'm cruising down this road and then whump, car stops and I'm going nowhere, put in reverse, nope, nothing.
Thought I'd damaged the transmission, so get out of the car to check it out, OH CRAP, all 4 wheels were hanging in the air, about 2 inches or so above the road. No wonder I got no traction and wasn't going anywhere.
Fortunately there was a couple of large mounds ahead that was ballasting gravel, I had a small container in the trunk. I used that to haul gravel back to the car and filled it in under each wheel, all in all it took me about 3-1/2 to 4 hours going to the gravel mound and back to the car to finally get it unstuck. Nope, did not go forward, backed out and drove in reverse for about 2+ miles. I never took my wife's car railfanning ever again after that lovely experience! Always took my Ford F-150 after that fiasco. LOL
BTW: nice video as always, but thought you would get a good laugh on how I got myself into a really goofy predicament and how I managed to get out of it. And I was all by myself too. Not another soul around anywhere. Really glad those ballast mounds were there, otherwise I'd still be there! I had called a tow truck, but even they couldn't figure out where I was at!

That is a good story! You got really lucky that the gravel pile was there. I have had to dig my truck out using gravel on my farm quite a few times. Those low cars are not made for rail fanning. LOl. One time my car broke down in eastern Pennsylvania when I was filming trains. It blew a head gasket. I sold it to a guy for 50 bucks, took a bus to Pittsburgh and then rented a car for the rest of the way home.

Hello again from the UK and hello to all of the fellow Brits who watch this channel. One of the really interesting things about this channel is all of these small out of the way places that we wouldn't normally hear anything about. Jaw Tooth, you certainly go out in all weather and keep this channel going all year round. I also like seeing the railways at the end of the lines and the little lines that feed into the big network. So much more interesting than just watching long trains on mainlines.

The parents taught their child well. There was another video I watched where the parent with a baby in a stroller and another child, that looked about 7 years old, raced across tracks with RR lights going and the gates were already down. If parents fail to teach their children how to cross the tracks safely, it's only a matter of time when that child's luck will run out and we will hear it on the 10 O' Clock news. And I'm sure everyone will blame and say it's the railroads fault.

Nothing says rural farmland like a Kent seed sign but the grain elevator is missing. That old substation is unique in that old N&W communication lines and power wires are on the same pole. Got caught up once in some mud and luckily the pickup was filled with smaller brush and tree trimmings that were used like a mat and problem was solved. In fact the John Deere can be the rural towing service if one's in a jam. The car they picked up as a bit obscure as its from a fleet under 50 cars. LUPX is the Laxness Corp and they produce polymers etc.

Two days ago in Novi Mi I was able to enjoy a CSX 7262 and Lake State Railroad 6351 pulling a long train.
I was stopped at the crossing. The sounds and powerful vibrations those engines make were amazing. Unfortunately I was not ready to video the train. Pure joy of watching the train go by.
    Love your videos Jawtooth

Great video. Your truck will need a bath for sure after almost getting stuck. Did that engine recently get a paint job? Looks very nice. The area'd nice too. I don't know why but I like watching trains going through the crossings. Have a nice day😊🌈
