Great to see you blu ray hunting in the wild and I enjoyed your pronunciation of 'CEX'. Doesn't 'Kecks' mean trousers? We say 'see eee ex' down south but I'll be sure to say kecks when I visit Manchester. 👍
Always fun videos, and nice pickups. You’re lucky to have a lot more interesting films in your CEX than my local one and I’ll be avoiding HMV for a while since being hit with a £650 optician fee. It might have to be a charity shop run, but they’re not usually that great these days. Oh well, luckily the backlog is HUGE at the moment.
I've had some nice finds at CEX, best to buy in the shop than online as they charge p&p £2.50 per item which really put me off. Nice change from the standard video. 👌
I definitely enjoy this sort of thing but what would make it better is if we see more of you out and about walking round etc…maybe grabbing lunch or something too. This way we can pretend that we’re out with you on a nice day out. I don’t have a life or friends of my own so that would be fantastic for me. 😉
Excellent video Elliot; would love to see you do more of these Blu-Ray hunting videos in the future’; ‘Inside Man’ is a really solid Spike Lee film; I need to grab the Blu-Ray of it aswell 😀👍
Lion King 3 AKA 'The Lion King 1 1/2' is possibly worth a look, so titled because it's about the events of the original film but from Timon's and Pumbaa's perspectives. I seem to recall some interesting interweaving around the original story, a la Back to the Future Part II (but nowhere near as good). I don't think it quite pulled it off but an interesting concept.
@@ElliotCoen Bear in mind I watched it with my young kids so adjust expectations accordingly 🤣 Good, Bad and Weird is an interesting watch also, enjoy! Great vid. I love browsing HMV, but rarely fork out :(
Our city only had an HMV (music) store in a local mall for less than 2 years in the mid 1990s and it was quite a place with a great selection. It lent such an international cachet to have such a tiffany company in our medium-sized city. Really was sad when it closed.
The Good, The Bad, The Weird is an excellent movie that I'm actually doing a podcast episode on next week. Lucky that you have picked up the bluray, I've watched it via MUBI
I tell ya, you don’t need Katy Perry’s Part of Me on blu ray but if you ever see her Prismatic World Tour blu ray in the wild you’ll be in for a great time - looks and sounds beautiful!
Great Picks! The Versus with the slipcover i got last year from wob for 10€ and it even was still sealed :D The Good, the Bad and the Weird is also a great movie, there are 5 seconds missing in the UK release, but i would not consider that all that bad if you can find it for a good price
I’m recommending Gran Turismo to everyone. It’s a fantastic throwback to 80s feel-good cinema, exciting, emotional, and expertly edited and directed. I’ve seen it four times and haven’t tired of it yet.
I was in CEX the other day. They seem to have gone the way of charity shops and are charging a ridiculous amount for second hand movies and some with just photocopied covers.
CEX can be good for bargains but i always make sure to check the discs - as they’re 2nd hand I’ve avoided some scratched discs by checking before buying
Nice video thank you.Not sure how HMV still keep going with those prices ! And CEX there seems to be a lot of variance on individual store prices compared to their online where you can pick up real bargains sometimes on for example World Cinema and OOP products. Its amazing sometimes what people sell.😮
@@ElliotCoen Thanks for the heads up Elliot. I used to live in Manchester 94' to 07' and have visited Stockport a couple of times. Still pop down every so often to meet friends. That HMV looks huge and has a great selection. May have to frequent it next time I'm down there. Keep up the great Physical media vids. Love it. Andy H
Shopping online might be convenient but it's nothing like going to the video store in person wish we had this store in the US 2nd video i saw going here
Do more of this, it’s very cool to see what they sell in the UK, and your very lucky to still have store that sells Blu-ray because where I live, Montréal Canada, there’s nothing like that anymore 😢 No HMV or pawnshop that sells rare movies, most of the pawnshop here sells only cheap movies that are not the one that we like 👎🏻
I’ve bought pretty much all my physical media from CEX I’ve not got much mostly DVDs such as the criterion version of the Irishman, the only blu ray I got was the Warner steelbook of the jazz singer
I was going to buy Django recently but the UK release is missing hdr and Dolby vision, so had to import it from the USA which is annoying as I prefer the uk packaging.
Bought in hmv the Rock Hudson Doris Day trilogy £9.99 blu ray. Brilliant value. And criterion collection Magnificent Obsession starring Rock Hudson and Jayne Wyman £23. Bit pricy the latter.
It's depressing seeing how huge that selection is in HMV. It reminds me of old stores like Suncoast. We have nothing like that in the states these days. There are a few FYEs left but their selection is small and basically double the price. Thankfully we have a lot of used media stores at least but hardly anything where you can buy new now. It's become an online world.
CeX can be great for bargains but deserve to be shamed for their careless method of applying multiple stickers to packaging which often damages artwork or warps cases.
Let me know if you enjoy this sort of video and I can film another one soon!
I love HMV
You should do more of theses videos
We love all your videos, more please.
I loved this type of video and hope to see more
YES!!!
So glad you're doing these, would love to see more Blu ray hunting videos
Nice work. Fresh air at last, I hope you enjoyed your day out.😆
The sunlight, it burns 😩
Elliott, you're driving on the wrong side!😂😂
I was wondering why every other driver honks at me!
Definitely liked this video.

It's really good to see what's out there and what you find.

I just rewatched Versus after about 20 years. It's got so much "90s cool" although being from 2000. Love it still.
I’m excited to watch it this week. Cheers!
Oh wow!!! This was great!!! I haven’t seen a store like this in ages on Long Island. I would love to just go and browse again. Well done Eliot!
really enjoyed this format, hope to see more
Thank you Charlie!
Glad to see the hunting was a success, pal! Thanks for sharing the trip 🤘
I love you mixing it up. Also I see you're posting more. Glad to see it.

I'd call kecks trousers too, and im from the North Midlands, not a million miles from Manc! :D
Great video. Love this. Please do another one. Thoroughly enjoyed. Best. Andy

This TH-cam channel that is amazing and am very happy to have discovered. Keep up the great work mate. Andy.

I believe they are my local HMV and CEXs - didn't realise you were in my neck of the woods! Love blu ray hunting videos!
This was a really fun video! Thank you for doing it.
Enjoyed the video! Wish we had that store in the US!
Great video, I enjoyed this content thank you, lovely presentation as ever
Thanks for watching!

There is not a single store in Mexico carying physical media anymore. I watch these videos with envy.

From what I understand there’s actually CEX stores in Mexico too
Great to see you hunting!!

Now i feel stupid for not popping into CEX yesterday after visiting HMV. It was literally the shop opposite!
The last time I was in CEX I bought THE LONG GOODBYE £5, FOOTBALL FACTORY £2 & THE HANGOVER 50p 😊
Lucky to still have an HMV. Mines now a Tesco mini
Wow! Your HMV and CEX have a way bigger selection than mine. Very jealous.

May I recommend cex and second hand stores. Picked up some real bargains.
More of these please 😊 Which town did you visit Elliott?
This is the beautiful scenic town of Stockport
Excellent. I'm in Lymm. Looks like a quality CEX. May have to fight you for some of those titles 😁

So many 4k disc's that I never have seen. I only buy my movies on Amazon and there isn't such a big choice.
Dont buy rumble in the bronx as its the cut US version

Do those CEX stickers leave any traces?
No none at all for me. Some stickers come off more easily than others but nothing a bit of heat can’t solve.
