Might be old but very well rounded there is a reason why it’s the best seller
It’s a best seller because everyone wants vanilla… reliable and boring.
@@Splendid_Lad Yup, nothing wrong with that. I'd be happier if Toyota didn't go the "German" route with sealed (or semi-sealed) transmissions and kept the dipstick.
@@Splendid_Lad That's the entire class though, its the best seller because of name recognition and brand loyalty. Objectively, the newer competition is mo betta.
It's the best seller because everyone thinks they are so reliable. Wait not that Toyota is being forced to "get with the times" with all new powertrains! Yes and we all know about the Tundra DISASTER! Totally NO quality control at Toyota ether!
@@danr4197 Rav4 doesn't need a new powertrain, it needs a new interior and infotainment.
I’ve always enjoyed your videos, but now I respect you…gotta appreciate that PBS News Hour tumbler. 🙌🏼👏🏻✅
I always look forward to your family reviews. You guys do such a "fine" job.😊
Your comment made me smile. "Fine" work on your part. Cheers!!
We have a 2020 XLE Premium fwd, and we love it! It's white with the two-tone beige/grey seats. It's just so darn cheerful, and everything is so simple and easy to use. Nothing but regularly scheduled maintenance, hope to keep it forever! 🤚
I thought you two were 10 years younger!
Big same. Age is just a number!
@@writingpandaTell that to your knees

Yeah, you're right.

Excellent video!
Love this!!!
I planned to rewatch Saw tonight, I guess this video is a sign to do so😂
Certain Tundra buyers are not feeling very certain right now.
Grand Highlander buyers too.
That’s ET cartridge joke caught me by surprised. Had me laughing at the gym. 😂
that song at the end was actually fire 🎶🎶
I appreciate the OG rav 4 on your Tshirt while reviewing the rav 4!!
Can’t wait to see the 25’ Forester review.
Evie's stock went up with that ET reference
My parents own the Rav4 Adventure. Really, great SUV for driving in the mountains.
First time viewer your attitude is very positive and contagious. A few things :
If you’re reviewing a vehicle without noting a specific trim, your title is fine. Unfortunately you’re in the rare adventure trd off road edition. It was nice to see the cosmetic changes.
I don’t think you can call this vehicle “old”. 4Runner has entered the chat.
I really won think think this belongs off road. Your non pavement dirt roads maybe lol.
The vehicle is noisy. But for me personally the other features make it worth it. Think loaded XSE.
I bought a loaded XSE Hybrid and it will be my daily for a very long time.
AIC reference is appreciated.
I kinda want to know where I can buy an OG RAV4 shirt.
My biggest issue with the RAV4 as is the case with all Toyotas is that the steering column is not high enough, I always bump my knees during ingress and egress from the vehicle. Additionally, the cabin feels tight (I'm 6ft, 230) where as the CRV just seems roomier and no steering column issues
My 24 TRD Off Road does not have the Stop/Start Button, but I have seen it on other 2024 RAV4 models - any idea why some have models and others do not? I would have not bought it with the Stop/Start button. Mind came with crappy Falken 01A Tires, which are not Severe Snow Rated. After getting stuck in the snow, we replaced them with real Falken 100H tires which are Severe Snow Rated and have a much deeper tread. Still no increase in road noise.
I wouldn’t be able to take solid hard plastic on the driver’s door armrest. Even though this is a rugged trim, I don’t think anyone would want that. How much would it cost Toyota for a little strip of cushioning?
My wife has 24 RAV4, and the lane centering is very temperamental in ours too...some times it goes off even when I'm centered in the lane!
We have 23’ XSE also when using cruise control always go to left! Its really bad.
I rented one of these a few years ago and apparently it has not changed since. I hated it. The engine had plenty of power for the way I drive but the thing was very noisy and very uncomfortable including getting in and out of it. It also felt a bit unstable or squirrely on the highway.
Micah's shirt with a Rav4.
The Trd nose on a hybrid would be nice.
If Paul Rudd reviewed cars. Legend
So coming from non US Rav 4 owner. TRD doesn’t come in hybrid? And has mud and snow mode instead of just Trail mode?
Noticed a couple things in this episode.
SUPER tight edits, way too fast. The sound was was very tinny or hollow.
Seems like you were trying to talk super fast.......Slow it down.
Constructive criticism........
I remember when this first came out. Rav4 stood for recreational activity vehicle 4wd. According to Toyota.
That thing looked awkward to the max.
Alice In Chains! My favorite band! Army green looks good!
Thanks for getting the reference. I wasn't sure everyone would. Cheers!
wish they offered the adventure in the hybrid version, best looking trim in my opinion
I bought a 2020 rav4 xse hybrid it is a great car iam thinking about buying another rav4 or highlander hybrid great cars 🎉🎉🎉🎉
My Rav4 is 15 year old from new, I would love to get this new RAv4, i think it is better upgrade.
I'm always afraid he's going to accidentally bump his hand into Evie's face when he does his transitions. 😂
"Dodge, Evie! Dodge! Transition incoming!"
Its a well rounded one for sure, but Hybrid variant is better pick !
Would the road noise be the same in other trims? Also, would you get this over a Kia seltos or Toyota Corolla cross?
It's a sportage competitor
@@th003g yes, I know. I am not looking at a Sportage though
@anthonygilmore5424 ao it depends on what you need would I get this over a Corolla cross? Yes because it's bigger and has more stuff.
It's in a larger class that brings better materials and more options.
This review was worth watching for Rooster alone.
We have a 2021 Rav4 Prime. Great electric range and quiet around town. But it is the NOISIEST car I have ever been in once at highway speeds. Even in all electric mode. And once the engine kicks in, even worse. Interior is cheap.
I like the older RAV4 styles from early 200's, but this design rocks too. Unlike the previous generation that was kinda ugly.
Its a good reliable car (hopefully:), but for 40k... I'd stick with higher trims of Subaru outback.
It's 'fine,' green, has high cheek bones..it's Kif from Futurama. 👽💚🚙
Was that song played by Alice in Snow Chains? 😂
I was amazed at how well AI nailed that AIC style. Not bad for some simple prompts and 2 minutes of processing.
If the new generation Rav4 hybrid has the 5th generation hybrid, it will be a banger. Unfortunately, the price will probably be high.
Not an IIHS top safety pick or top safety pick plus for 2024 which is concerning.
That song reminded me of Nirvana! 😂
The road noise is very noticeable, even in the video
Reliable? Yes but getting really old and not refined that’s why I went with the CRV hybrid. Sure, Honda was a bit more expensive when compared top spec hybrid trim to top spec hybrid trim but when the new redesigned RAV4 comes out in 2yrs, that’ll be more expensive possibly even slightly more than the CRV hybrid!
Toyota n Lexus no longer having any built in gps is such a terrible move. I like apple car play ok but b is not always available in spotty areas. Horrible
I have my eye on a 2025 camry. Its $29,900.
Wait the Mazda CX5 isn’t a competitor to this?
Too small compared
It is and a much more refined drive and interior. I bit smaller but much better IMO.
Your AI song sounds like STP
Reviewing the RAV4 is like writing a dining review about oatmeal. Thank you for your service. Full disclosure. I own a 2019 RAV4 and love oatmeal. Toyota is conservative about new tech, but if it has a clear benefit for costumers, Toyota quickly adds it to all models.
Your comment made me chuckle. I legitimately love oatmeal. Glad that 2019 RAV4 is treating you right!
Жуда чиройли машина
Hello family
Жуда зур
Unfortunately, according to IIHS crash test ratings, this is a terrible family car. That rear passenger result in the moderate overlap was atrocious!
"Too old." - Sir Meryn Trant
Venza is a better choice.
This thing desperately needs a new generation redesign. It got surpassed a few years ago by everyone else. The road noise is literally awful (even on street tires), the interior is one of the cheapest feeling in this day and age and it just oozes unrefinement. Reliable, yes. It should be, but you sacrifice so much for it. That's not enough anymore in 2024 Toyota, and this is coming from a former worker of yours.
I’ve been at Toyota guy forever. Went to go look at one for my wife and they had the cheapest interior ever. Very plastic and not well put together or refined. I don’t doubt it would be reliable, but it just felt really cheap overall. Went to look at a CX 5 the other day and it was much better quality. I hear the CRV is much more refined too.
“got surpassed” but still best seller 😂
@@gregjoubert5118yep. The nouse when driving and cheap materials were deal breaker for me. Went with CR-V. Way better materials and ride comfort.
@@tinhinnh McDonalds sells the most hamburgers in the world, yet is far from great. Best selling =/= best choice.
@@ShafinRehman get some new materials, man
Rav4 needs an upgrade already looking old
Family isn't about blood, It's about love. 👨👩👧❤
"Fine." 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Anytime I see a Toyota with the TRD nomenclature...I see "turd". 🤣😂🤣😂 Maybe they could come up with something else?
Subaru wilderness trims are better.
...all because it's a Toyota, if you know what I mean.
For the price, the interior looks way too basic.
Blind spot monitoring is an option…that’s not great.
The next generation rav4 is already outclassed by the competition before we even get to see it
Toyota just can’t compete. Time to accept that reality.
Weird that the entire Muzio family seems to think this current one is fine. Havent heard of any news on a next generation model.
Can’t say for sure until it actually comes out but it’s a possibility. That is, if you’re looking at mainly the equipment list and materials etc. But people will still buy it regardless lol
@@austin.2716 we can say that it will happen. Toyota is notorious for overhyping and severely underwhelming in the real world
If you look up the tundra, you’ll see that toyota said the new tundra will be a world beater. But clearly that didn’t happen.
@@naveenthemachine They gotta do their marketing 😂. Doesn’t mean anything until we have the chance to make our own opinion of it in the real world. They can say whatever they want really because at that time, no one can really say too much. And I mean, Toyota has never really been the best in class in terms of technology and driving dynamics and cabin materials and all that. They’ve always been midpoint if you ask me. Boring cars, the ultimate appliance vehicle. But they always sold relatively well, which didn’t make sense apart from reliability being a big reason. Nowadays, they are slipping. The Tundra issues are serious and there’s no denying that. But in the case of the GH and TX, those recalls have nothing to do with the reliability of the cars, it’s a pretty major safety recall. But in the case of the Rav4, provided they do a similar thing they did with the new Camry, reliability itself should be largely unchanged. They might have some early teething issues but so did the current 5th gen back in 2019-2020ish, so not really a reason to not buy. And I mean, if they go turbo, well with the lack of maintenance that is now recommended, of course they won’t last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. People are very misinformed about maintenance nowadays so no surprise. So far, the T24A seems to be pretty good but for long term reliability, we need some more time to judge that. Just out of curiosity, did Toyota say anything about the 2025 Camry? I didn’t bother to watch or read anything about it until reviews came out so I don’t know.
The RAV4 is very reliable but so thankless to drive. You feel like you are piloting a refrigerator down the road. 😂
it never was the best
This family destroys every car they test….teach that kid some common courtesy and to care about other people property.
