If my memory serves me, this song is not sung by the lead singer of Comsat Angels -- Stephen Fellows. But I think...Peter Beckett. The recording of this album went through some hardships and there were times Fellows was not involved.
Hi, John, Steve did sing the lead vocal on this track and I, (Peter Beckett), sang the backing vocals - I also sang the backing vocals on I'm Falling and Forever Young. There were some hardships on the album - the first track I sang on was I'm Falling and I was brought in by James Mtume via Mutt Lange - unfortunately Steve knew nothing about this before I showed up at the studio and I rather awkwardly hung around while Steve went and had a shit fit with James. I'm pleased to say that Steve and I ended up getting along very well and he had me back at a later date for Believe It and Forever Young, (I remember very well that I was doing Pebble Mill at One with Nick Heyward that day and had to get back from Birmingham in time for the recording session).
Fantastic band
They sure know how to come up with a good catchy song :). Still amazed how this band never could become more well-known.
Beautiful song. It appears that it was only ever played live once (in 1985)!
CSA should have been massive. A song like this .... criminal.
I saw them in New Haven CT many years ago. They were funny and happy. So was I.
I hope you still remember what you promised me. I know we'll find the way again. Until then you must believe - believe it. Believe! Believe it!
