Don't like how Naima was treated here. She stuck with the group from start to finish unlike the two abandoners who dissed her. She deserved her side of the story aswell.
Mariama wasn't an "abandoner", she left the group because her and Naima couldn't get along, plus Naima wasn't helping at all - knowing that Mariama was their last chance of keeping the group alive, which is exactly what happened.
So naima didn't deserve an interview and didn't even get talked about, apart from being dissed about her singing and just being the 'looks' of the group?
Becky B and Jesus they approached her and she declined. She can't sing and was only there for looks. I think it's great that they were honest about it. She's probably embarrassed.
No matter what happened to The Honeyz, they should consider themselves blessed. The Shirelles had to wait for 20 Years to get paid, many of them do Golden Oldie Shows and many aren`t even original members. Gladys Horton of The Marvelettes died of a Stroke after living in a Retirement Home, Georgia Dobbins also died and Wanda Young Rogers also died after being and addict and even Homeless for a hot minute. As far as I know no Girlband from the 1960`s have all of the original Members Alive.
Honeyz could have been as big as the US R & B Group SWV (Sisters With Voices). They may have had a problem with taking the name Essence because that's the name of America's Longest Running Magazine for Black Women that debuted in 1970. Bewitched holds the distinction of being the only UK Girl Group with Twins the same way The Shangri-Las had in the 1960's.
I stand corrected. These Folks should be proud of themselves. At least they are trying to put thei differences aside to do this. On US Soil, we may not see that with Groups of this Calibre. O-Town, LMNT (Which Consisted Of Three Guys Who didn't make O-Town), Eden's Crush (The Group Nicole Scherzinger was in before she became a Pussycat Doll) 702 (Who were an up and coming Girl Group at Motown whose only Hit Record was Where My Girls At) and 3LW (Three Little Women) who had a Group Member 5th Harmony who got let go for being Dark Skinned. I hope that Little Mix & Fifth Harmony learn from these guys.
I'm sorry but I was definitely around for pop bands when B*Witched came out and they had a few hits but they were never actually that big a deal... they were square and dull with their denim and hairclips and I never met anyone who was actually a fan, people enjoyed a handful of their songs and that's the extent of the care. They act like they were mobbed by hysterical superfans for years all around the world. They weren't even on the radar for a year.
If there was one thing that A Record Label won't put up with is "Drama" with Girl Groups and The Honeyz were very lucky. They didn't have to fight to use the Name like Florence Ballard did after getting fired from The Supremes. Also, if you think you can go from one record label who made you famous and go to a new label and continue the magic, think again. With the exception of The Jackson Five, every Act who left Motown found their careers go down the drain.
I should mention that The Isley Brothers did just as well "After" Motown as well as Gladys Knight & The Pips who were already "Polished" who didn't need Motown's Charm School like so many others did.
yeah but the record label didnt even care about the girls . it was like one song did well and the second album flopped so lets just drop them instead of giving them another chance.
The thing is Naima and Mariama never liked each other...plus Naima can't sing...if Heavenli was not so narcissistic and mad to Celena, this line-up (Celena, Heav and Mariama) would be the perfect one
@@_AceReject Naima is a better singer than the likes of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Jenny Frost… I can keep going all day. Heavenli isn't that great of a singer either, that's why she always had to lip-sync back in the day while Celena sang live. Major part of the things said during The Big Reunion were fabricated, for example; the thing about Naima "trying to steal" Mariama's boyfriend, when said by Mariama on the Honeyz's website back then - he was just a guy she fancied; not long after she started dating Ritchie from Five.
You can tell Naima was one of those popular pretty girls in school who bullied others. She bullied Mariama; telling her what she can and can't wear, trying to steal her boyfriend etc. And she didn't contribute anything of value to the group 😊
En Vogue would be perfect to go to the UK and talked to The Children there. They were the Group that influenced TLC and Destiny's Child who were once called "The Supremes Of The MTV Generation" and they went through their own issues.
And most of the bands weren't going for their first reunion - Five tried to reunite with J and without Sean about three years ago, 911 have been touring in the last year, and Blue joined the show right after fulfilling prior band commitments!
Honestly that's how it's coming across. Especially Celina, her whole persona and how she keeps banging on about how someone else ruined her life. When not talking about her faults.
I'm not so sure about that. Celena seems extremely entitled and selfish, and I'm not surprised Heavenli didn't stick around. Celena doesn't seem to have cared at all what the girls were feeling or going through, just wanted to get to #1.
@@TheLizzifer Well, you should be - considering Heavenli was the very first member of the Honeyz, as well as the original lead singer of the group before Celena joined. It's obvious that Heavenli's issue was Celena being the lead singer, nothing more nothing less. Celena actually cared about her bandmates, if you watched the show - you'd have been able to tell that Celena and Mariama are very close. Plus, Celena showed more affection towards Heavenli than Heavenli every showed towards her. I don't know what's with you all and those "opinions", it's as if I'm watching a different TV show than you all.
When I saw the Pic of The Honeyz at around 12:24 was so beautiful. Looking back if Essence had done a Profile on Soul Sistas across the Ocean and if The Internet had taken off, they could have been on Soul Train in a heartbeat.
I'd never heard of them either until the show was announced - same with 911. But I was very familiar with 5ive, B*Witched, Atomic Kitten, Blue and Liberty X.
I never have either and if the best looking bands arent atomic kitten,i think this show lies with their facts.iam watchining because I love your music ten times better than in my country[usa].you have great bands and even now you have rixton, one direction, the vamp, and union j.i know Australia has 32 seconds of summer but its a matte of time until the uk gets them.you have something we have never had and that a girls band.ive never been crazy over the spice girls, but girls aloud, the Saturdays.,atomic kitten, and the sugababes kicked ass. for the big reunion not to say atomic kitten wasn't the best looking girl band they are on drugs, atomic kitten was beautiful and sill are,i wish Kerry had straight hair though
CathalRM Breathnach I'm friends with Heavenli and if there is one thing I can say about her is that I have never heard someone sing happy birthday as well as her
En Vogue were a major influence on The "Original" Destiny's Child as well as TLC. It's so sad that a misunderstanding can destroy what could have been a big thing.
The Big Reunion is so SCRIPTED. There is a good reason why Heavenli left the group in 1999 which the Big Reunion is not reporting on. It was Celena who invited Heavenli to rejoin the group - there was no surprise meeting which she claimed their management set-up. Even Heavenli is implying the show is so scripted - on a recent twitter update she wrote: "Adaptations of the truth... :) some actual, some factual, others spun into villain/victim stories for TV drama! #BigReunion amusing!"
The part of Celena "inviting Heavenli to rejoin" is false, they have been saying that she rejoined the group by a meeting with management since back then when she rejoined. Either way, it was over for the Honeyz when Mariama left.
Mickey was a One Hit Wonder for Toni Basil who was also a Choreographer for The Concert Movie The TAMI Show. Here's another fun fact. In the US both Wilson Phillips & En Vogue were in the Top Ten at The Same Time with Songs that had the exact same Title "Hold On", yet they had different lyrics. Also Carnie Wilson said when she heard En Vogue for the first time, she was blown away.
Yes. Linzi went on The X Factor and Simon told her to give it up, she didn't have what it took to make it. Heartbreaking and her downfall reminds me of Florence Ballard of The Supremes who fell on hard times had to move herself, children, and Mother into a Low Income Housing Project. In 1976 she dies at 32 and her Kids still play the "Momma got screwed over by Motown".
Yes you are so right on but I wonder if it's because they used "En" instead of just Vogue. In The US they are fanatical about Group's Names and ownership rights. Alot of Motown Artists had problems using their Group Names ie The Supremes, The Temptations, The Miracles & The Jackson Five after they left. Also I remember seeing on The US Show Entertainment Tonight how Two Groups said They were The Crystals & Shangri-Las and they weren't. All Also, there are alot of R & B Groups who perform as The Crests, Flamingos, Monotones, Platters and they aren't.

bewitched sucked, their voices sounded like cats screaming. honeyz was pretty good, still sounds good now. that being said, i still bought bewitched's and honeyz's albums back in the day.
Mark VK I remember the buzz around them back in the day. Trust me, if things had gone to plan they would have been a lot more successful than they were. Sadly, the public were not here for the line up changes and it hindered them greatly despite continuing to have successful singles. People don’t want to emotionally invest in a group that’s forever changing their line up - same thing happened with Sugababes in the end. It all becomes a bit of a joke.
Signing to Def Jam is a monumental achievement, one reserved for true talent. I was a boy of 9 years old when they first rose to prominence, and yeah, if things had gone according to the original plan then they would have been on the level with Destiny's Child
its not true not the B*Witched was the fist girl group who have their first 4 single number one because the Spice Girls already did that before them . the Spice girls have 9 uk number one all together , 3 Christmas uk number one in a row , and the spice girls have their first 6 single went to number one before the B*Witched ...so its bullshit
Liam Prentice the spice girls were eye candy and bewitch was better.they werent models just sang.why does people like the spice girls.are they better than girls alound and the Saturdays.people loved Victoria because of her whitney Houston type voice.to be truthful when she wore the cat suite I was like oh my god. got to have eye candy for the guys to come cal,and the girls felt female power with the spice girls.eye cany.
Genuine Feline if you leave the group then your career is ruined. I would most definitely be fucking pissed off if someone left my group and I'll never forgive them

wow , i just got reminded how shit the late 90s and early 2000s were. the pop stars were not even trying to be even remotely credible or musically talented or skilled in any shape or form. they were quite happy to be as shit as anything just as long as they were getting attention, fame and lots of money - at least more money than they would have gotten had they ended up stacking shelves in a local supermarket as their educational levels would have them do.
Take note that the trend and standards today and back then were very different. Late 90s and early 2000s weren't too negatively critical (accg to us listeners), hence we don't see much of their true selves behind the stage back then until now. Same thing can even be said to some rock and hiphop bands that time. And that was what the emergence of pop was all about that time: simple, friendly, edgy, personality, sorta conservative, too sensationalized despite what shit they try to spark up in the airwaves. It just so happens in the late 2000s until now that people become critical about artists' credibility thanks to more advanced technology such as autotune and social media, where anybody can see who these artists actually are and openly talk shit about them. Not to mention how extremely sexualized most artists were now in contrast to these past bands. Better double check what you know about these artists because you need to research more about the late 90s-2000s as well as what's vividly happening with the artists from today's era.

Gladys Horton of The Marvelettes died of a Stroke after living in a Retirement Home, Georgia Dobbins also died and Wanda Young Rogers also died after being and addict and even Homeless for a hot minute. As far as I know no Girlband from the 1960`s have all of the original Members Alive.
she doesnt look sorry. she's smiling
I think she was trying to not cry.
Is Heavenli alright? She speaks like she's had a head injury.
She's just very softly spoken
@@JohnnyMac95 I like the way she pronounces her "p"s at the end of a word, like at the end of "group" lol
Honeyz could have been as big as the US R & B Group SWV (Sisters With Voices). They may have had a problem with taking the name Essence because that's the name of America's Longest Running Magazine for Black Women that debuted in 1970. Bewitched holds the distinction of being the only UK Girl Group with Twins the same way The Shangri-Las had in the 1960's.
laminage B*Witched are Irish...
I feel for Selena coz they were on a verge of making it big in the US..
If it was me, I might not be able to forgive heavenli
Strangely, my friend bought the Finally Found single and sent me a postcard with Naima's face on it.
They weren't even on the radar for a year.
i loved them i had their albums and book
Bwitcheds first album was huge
sarah Hill me too
I'm Always Right yup
I’m from the US and the only groups from this that I’ve ever heard of was B*Witched and Five...and they were just 1 hit wonders
Thank you so much for this such good quality
I would have told Heavenly to piss off.
How it will go sweetie is that you will have three gals that can actually sing...
Bwitched’s 2nd album wasn’t as successful not because of “lack of momentum”, but because the songs were gimmicky and worse than the 1st album
Skunky Stinkerson yup
yeah but the record label didnt even care about the girls . it was like one song did well and the second album flopped so lets just drop them instead of giving them another chance.
I really prefer the second line-up of Honeyz, with Mariama. She is much more endearing and genuine than Heavenli.
100% agree
Naima was the cause
You can tell Naima was one of those popular pretty girls in school who bullied others. She bullied Mariama; telling her what she can and can't wear, trying to steal her boyfriend etc. And she didn't contribute anything of value to the group 😊
yeah what reason did heavenly have to lose a big ameican record deal and why did she come back
She was miserable but was forced to come back.
thanks sooooo much for posting
En Vogue would be perfect to go to the UK and talked to The Children there. They were the Group that influenced TLC and Destiny's Child who were once called "The Supremes Of The MTV Generation" and they went through their own issues.
En Vogue - Don't Let Go (Love)
Great doco this is amazing
I hope Heavenly & Celena can work through it
I love that B*witched tshirts etc is considered too sexy back then haha. Oh how times have changed.
And most of the bands weren't going for their first reunion - Five tried to reunite with J and without Sean about three years ago, 911 have been touring in the last year, and Blue joined the show right after fulfilling prior band commitments!
Heavenlli is a right two faced person isn't she. Then left again!
Celina and Naima must have been a little difficult to have had two members to leave in succession.
Honestly that's how it's coming across. Especially Celina, her whole persona and how she keeps banging on about how someone else ruined her life. When not talking about her faults.
I think they both were difficult. But something tells me Naima was worse. She wanted to be the pretty one, she flirted with people's boyfriends etc
the honeyz would have been so much bigger
So Mariama came from Solid Harmonie. I thought recognised her.
Heavenlii was just bitter that Celena was front and.centre
Lee you will find someone better... God bless...
Love bewitched but never heard of honeyz
I hadn't until I saw this either because I'm from the US. I was obsessed with B*Witched though!
Subject to the BIG Reunion hype Honeyz werent that much of a big deal in the UK from my memory growing up they were a poor mans Eternal
You're clearly too young x
Seems like both groups were out at the same time.
Well now you have
Honeyz are a cut above the rest!
That Heaven-ly chick is SUPER weird though lol.
I've never heard of honeyz! :/
Willam Daniel Since when have 5 Seconds of Summer been called 32 Seconds of Summer? They're already hugely popular here BTW
Oh I LOVED Honeyz x
Also Boyzone did a Show with Fellow Irish Lass Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud who got fired from the Irish Popstars Group Six for lying about her age.
Heavenli couldn't really sing either so her En Vogue aspiration was a bit far fetched.
Even Heavenli is implying the show is so scripted - on a recent twitter update she wrote:
"Adaptations of the truth... :) some actual, some factual, others spun into villain/victim stories for TV drama! #BigReunion amusing!"
So true. The second season, even more so. The second season felt really jumpy, because of the editing.
The part of Celena "inviting Heavenli to rejoin" is false, they have been saying that she rejoined the group by a meeting with management since back then when she rejoined. Either way, it was over for the Honeyz when Mariama left.
Damn girl
Heavenli broke her promise
Heavenli used to look like Janet Jackson
I loved the B*Witched songs "Hold on" and "Mickey"
Mickey was a One Hit Wonder for Toni Basil who was also a Choreographer for The Concert Movie The TAMI Show. Here's another fun fact. In the US both Wilson Phillips & En Vogue were in the Top Ten at The Same Time with Songs that had the exact same Title "Hold On", yet they had different lyrics. Also Carnie Wilson said when she heard En Vogue for the first time, she was blown away.
KT926 same
I don’t think she looks anything like Janet!
Wasn't it Lolly who had a number 1 with her cover of Mickey? Definitely not Bewitched
Abzz be from Jamaica man. What part? Right near da beach BOYYY
Lesbian vibes from Edele
What is the song in the background at 12:42 and 13:12?
I was today years old when I found out the Honeyz had 2 lineups..
Hard to believe that he also helped Nadine Coyle whom he knew from Irish Popstars and UK Popstars.
You talking about Louis Walsh? Don't forget Jedward, lol. But in all seriousness I think Westlife were his biggest success
@@MVK123 I am Canadian so I am not as knowledgeable as you are.
No probs
Louis & Simon are horrible people
Yes. Linzi went on The X Factor and Simon told her to give it up, she didn't have what it took to make it. Heartbreaking and her downfall reminds me of Florence Ballard of The Supremes who fell on hard times had to move herself, children, and Mother into a Low Income Housing Project. In 1976 she dies at 32 and her Kids still play the "Momma got screwed over by Motown".
laminage Lindsey
They wouldn't have been able to be called Essence because that's the Name of a African American Women's Magazine.
laminage There's also a magazine called Vogue. Didn't stop En Vogue.
The big reunion Our Honeyz B*Witched Atomic Kitten Liberty X Blue 911 Five seeing that there Reunion for more pop music being on stage singing dancing to most fames songs but B*Witched And Honeyz our on taking about who there felt about being in girl group who there or back on tour with rest of pop group again with new photos and atomic Kitten B*Witched Honeyz the girls from Liberty X Jessica Michelle Kelly Our doing calenders girls photos with Sunflowers Scones Cakes Jams Daffads bluebells As well I love Girl Thing there where spice girls so is Honeyz B*Witched Atomic Kitten Liberty X even there did popstars with hear'say but get win but cared on anyway with singing dancing making tours And Albums Singles photos lots of stuff like rest of pop groups the big reunion 2013 🌞🇬🇧🦋😁🤗😋🌻💗🥰🍍🌺🍯
Does anybody know what's the song that sounds during 27:12-27;50?
@Ben Sapida - Anything Can Happen by Ellie Goulding!
At 16:47 they are using "Something New" by Girls Aloud.
bewitched sucked, their voices sounded like cats screaming. honeyz was pretty good, still sounds good now. that being said, i still bought bewitched's and honeyz's albums back in the day.
"Anything Could Happen" by Ellie Goulding
Maybe there's a reason the Honeyz couldn't keep three members 🤔....
I don't wanna believe you but you sounded like you are telling the truth... this show is full of untold stories but I guess it's better left unsaid...
Honestly, so would I ;)
18:18 I love Keavy's top
What's the song in 2:40?
‘Anything could happen’ by Ellie Goulding
I dont know who the Honeyz are kidding...i really dont think they were gonna be "huge"
Wannabe didn't debut at no.1 it debuted at no.3 then climbed to no.1 the following week. So yeah sadly they beat the SG record! #sgrulz
Liam Prentice the spice girls were eye candy and bewitch was better.they werent models just sang.why does people like the spice girls.are they better than girls alound and the Saturdays.people loved Victoria because of her whitney Houston type voice.to be truthful when she wore the cat suite I was like oh my god. got to have eye candy for the guys to come cal,and the girls felt female power with the spice girls.eye cany.
peterszecsi bwitched went straight to number 1, spice girls didn't
@@Djlemo78 source?
peterszecsi yup
world record >> meaning "world" = UK..lol
I’m sorry but what heavenli did was so stupid,
20 years? It's barely 10 years.
It’s beyond 20 years now 😉
Hev quite nasty really xxxx
Boo hoo, if two people leave your group, then it's not meant to be. Get over it and quit acting like they owe you something.
Genuine Feline if you leave the group then your career is ruined. I would most definitely be fucking pissed off if someone left my group and I'll never forgive them
Imagine yourself working your arse off to secure a £1m deal and then it’s taken away from you because of someone else’s actions. Yeah, I think I’d be pretty pissed off too...
Martin Truman yeah
@@hellobye7697 Yep. Sisqo of Dru Hill thought that because his Debut Solo Album Unleash The Dragon was such a Smash with "The Thong Song" and "Incomplete" but his Second Album tanked and he thought he could make a Girlband Luvher successful and it didn't work out. Also Sisqo thought he was to Dru Hill what Justin Timberlake was to N'Sync.
I always felt Naima destroyed the band.
Then you must be very deluded.
wow , i just got reminded how shit the late 90s and early 2000s were. the pop stars were not even trying to be even remotely credible or musically talented or skilled in any shape or form. they were quite happy to be as shit as anything just as long as they were getting attention, fame and lots of money - at least more money than they would have gotten had they ended up stacking shelves in a local supermarket as their educational levels would have them do.
Ummm 90's and 00's are better then now days.
She wasn't able to cos with those Manufactured Groups, they're not allowed to be on their own, its either all of them or nothing at all.
