    Loved meeting Junna on Fate Gear tour and having pic taken with her , she's so humble and a power house on the drums .

    She does have a great kit. She's also sponsored by Pearl, Sabian, and Remo.

    Junna is obviously having lots of fun. She needs more things to hit. Double up her drum set. She's a beast. I love all her stuff. Great comment.

    I know nothing of drumming...but only one reaction I have watched so far picked up on the fact that she played 'sextuplets' during this. She is phenomenal.

    Congrats for the dissertation. Being in academia, I know what it takes and none of those years are ever easy ones. BTW you are correct about the pronunciation of her name.

    I remember the Napster fiasco, I join you in your hatred for Lars. And the music industry still hasn't learnt, they should be teaming up with reactors like yourself to promote their music. They could learn from the Games Industry how to work with youtubers to market their products. oh yeah and Junna is awesome, cheers for the breakdown.

    You didn't commenting her left foot doing both hi-hat and kick at the same time... But maybe that is common by drummers?

    • @DRUMNERD
      @DRUMNERD  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’ll have to check again and look for that. If it’s only that she uses that foot for both pedals, then yes that’s common. However, if it’s in a style like Marco Minniman or JoJo Mayer where she splashes the hats while hitting the left better pedal; than that’s a different and special story. Be well.

    Junna is phenomenal. Metallica has sold 125+ million albums worldwide. You?

    • @DRUMNERD
      @DRUMNERD  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well again you didn’t get my point, MacDonald’s sells millions a year; they’re still not good burgers much as Lars is not a good drummer. And to answer your question, a few thousand. Not millions granted but I’m proud of that accomplishment non the less. Hope you’re well.

      @@martian-sunset well I’m happy to hear you won’t be back, I don’t recall ever inviting you in the first place. I also will never apologise for my thoughts about him being a bad drummer, it’s a fact and I think my degree entitles me to have a fairly well educated opinion about the matter. Be well.

    @rmcclain124 ปีที่แล้ว

    Damn. The haters definitely came out for you with fangs bared!
    Anyhow, Junna put in a lot of the ad libs that you didn't seem to like. Lars played it a lot more straight, and he actually sounds decent in this song. (I have no doubt there was a fair amount of digital wizardry involved though.)
    I'm no drummer, so take this as much salt as needed. Lars' drumming just always seemed to be just a hairsbreadth behind the beat--like a wall reflection. The beat seems to drive him and not him driving the beat.

  • @Glynthepin
    @Glynthepin ปีที่แล้ว

    Dodgy subject but you would expect her to have rugby player legs or at least muscular shins as she plays on her toes, without the foot leaving the pedal. Far better than taking your foot off the pedal and slamming it back down again. Worse still, is the sin of leaving the bass drum head against the skin and then having to lift off to raise the pedal and push down again to repeat the hit. It's all about the bass drum pedal lift, in my view. 😊

    She plays very well, but it doesn't make the song better.
    When one instrument eats 80 % on 3 others members, that's not sounding good.
    Again everything she plays is perfectly done, with great energy but its overplayed, it kills the music.
    There s no weight to it.
    Because there s no space to it.
    Say what you want about Lars, but the guy came with great parts and arranged legendary songs.
    Put what he did in each place was perfectly thought.
    You don't do that on legendary songs by accident or not having a clue.
    Lars came up with the parts of All Nightmare Long, Lux, Moth into Flame, Fight Fire With Fire ( no joke, who played like that back then ? Not many ...), The Thing That Should Not Be, Fade To Black, Nothing Else Matters, Fuel, Sad But True, MOP, Creeping Death, Trapped Under ice, RTL, Battery, Welcome Home, Ain't my bitch, Devil's Dance, Damage Inc, Disposable Heroes, Through The Never, AJFA, Blackened, Harvester Of Sorrow, The Shortest Straw or Frayed Ends of Sanity, without mentioning the seminal stuff in KEA
    Not mentioning that all thoses songs have very distinct approaches..
    Its impossible to propose and adapt in many creatives approaches and be so called unable.
    This never existed in music or art ever.
    .
    None of you and us came with that, Lars did, so most of you, you should think a bit deeper than jumping into a so called drum expert bash bandwagon to make you somehow revelant.
    You can not like so pass it, or you can just enjoy what is proper to each artist in proposing.
    Its made for that.

    In her older videos she had usually 2 takes . One with microphones to record the audio and one without microphones for the clean music video style look. A lot of people commented that this is fakery and she began one take recordings. I prefer her clean videos because there is not so much clutter
