What characters are good for these new episodes? I am on the marinefort mission so the 3th I think? I have only all of the straw hats max level but I struggle to clear marinefort within the time limit. Any recommendations on who to farm with?
Luffy can pass. Just hurry up and take out all the secret characters. Then you will get more website. The enemy Soul is quite strong, I don't recommend you fight it.
Law with Scan is the meta if you want the points to max out the rewards. Other than that most big sweepers are good in these. Probably Whitebeard being the best with the new skills and more slot.s
If you mean the story arc in the story missions: you have to complete all other arcs first. If you are talking about the new Yamato adventure missions, you need to buy the new dlc with Yamato missions

Does adding more difficulties give more XP? Or just makes the game play more hard?
I think it just increases the difficulty of the game. But I feel like it makes it a lot more fun for me.

Ultra hard doesn't do anything, it's just still the same difficulty of level so level 10, you can see how quickly you beat the enemies
