It's so touching that when Momo is apologizing to Ken, and feels as vulnerable as she was when she was a child being mocked, she holds her hand on her head, almost like she did when she was imagining her chi shooting out from her head. That nervous tick lets us know exactly how she is feeling in that moment, and its so sweet. Dan da dan is amazing for its over the top wackyness, yet it has some really touching tender moments sprinkled in that are just so.....human. While Dan da dan might seem like a random name, its the sound your heart makes when its beating 🥲
Kinpachi-sensei is a Japanese drama series that aired from 1979 to 2011. In the show, the phrase 'rotten tangerines' is used. The item her grandma was using to hit the cat is called Harisen, a prop often used in Japanese manzai and comedy. Ken Takakura is a classic Japanese actor. He used to say, 'I am clumsy.' It might help you understand that situation if you think of his name as same to actor's name like Sean Connery, Clint Eastwood, or Alain Delon. There are several elements of this anime that you might hard to enjoy if you're not familiar with old Japanese TV shows.
The cat's voice actress is a 69-year-old woman, but up until now she has only been cast as young boys, such as Luffy from One Piece and Krillin from Dragon Ball. This is the first time that she has been given the role of an old hag who is suitable for her age, and she seems to be really excited about it, wearing an original Dandadan T-shirt during the dubbing.
In her long career, she has played many boy roles, but she has also portrayed many old women. For example, she voiced the Fortuneteller Baba in Dragon Ball.
@@にゃんちゅう82 In a recent interview, she mentioned that she hasn’t played a female role in a long time. But she used to often play old women in uncredited minor roles.
The slice of life episode we needed to relax a bit after those crazy first 4 episodes! It's so cute how much they both overthink, the awkwardness of being at school with some many people that can judge you around. We see both Momo and Okarun play hard to get, tease each other but in the end, when it mattered the most, Momo came to his help and dealt with the random rude girl. Naturally, once Momo's granny got involved things devolved into pure chaos and we end up finding out Turbo Granny is not gone. Next episode can't come soon enough, poor Okarun needs his balls back! Thank you for the adorable reaction, commentary and discussion, you did a great job ❤
This is an explanation of the lines that Seiko says when she hits Okarun and Turbo Granny with a paper fan. Kinpachi Sensei is a popular character from a Japanese drama in the 90s. He is a wonderful person who helps children who are troubled or hurt. One of his lines is "The character for person means people supporting each other." 「person」=「人(kanji)」 Japanese traditional kanji were created from shapes and actions. The kanji for person looks like people supporting each other, so this line was used in the scene where Kinpachi Sensei advises his students to hold hands. Seiko uses this material throughout the episode, but it is a Japanese-style comedy scene where she corners Turbo Granny in a violent way that is the opposite of Kinpachi Sensei's kindness.
Thanks for the reaction, this episode was so fun 😆😆and the granny as a cat is cute lol. I hope you watch “Yakuza Fiancé” it's another good romance anime and with some surprises🙌😁
In the English Dub, when the bully pushes Okarun to the floor, the girl calls him a perv for trying to look up her skirt. There really IS a BIG difference between American and Japanese Culture. I mean the FIRST place that American culture goes to is he's being a perv because SOMEONE ELSE shoved him to the floor and it just happens to be next to her??? This one makes more sense; she just calls him annoying as if also being a bully. I mean there's NO context for him being a perv at all. They just threw that in there for .....reasons.
I'm sorry but dude, it isn't that fucking serious. They were just being mean to him for no reason. In that case, I guess it's weird for her to call him annoying in the japanese dub even though someone else pushed him? please calm down lol.
@@Zenko16 There's been plenty of problems with english dubs, they have a way of "enriching" the source material with extremely nonsensical stuff. Doesn't help that the VA doing stuff like that are gleefully snickering about it on social media. So yea, you can't really blame people for pointing it out, it happened too many times now to be ignored and it should always be called out, only way to clean the industry.
@@Alexszander You think you're going to clean out the anime translation industry by complaining on a reaction video of a single anime episode on a channel with about 50K subscribers? If you're serious, get a petition, sign it, and send it to the dubbing companies. Otherwise, I promise you you're wasting your time, energy, anger, and passion.
@@cleanseroftheworld I never said I'm going to clean the industry, nor am I wasting any time, energy, anger or passion. It's simply raising awareness - the more people know about it, the more pressure it puts on the industry. If a person who read about this will hear a weird dub next time, they might remember and decide to check out if it matches the sub.
Now that Okarun has found the one piece he must go on a journey to recover the dragon balls

I like Okarun's new transformation. He is so badass.
It's not new, it's the old one while wearing school uniform instead of casual clothes, and minus the mask.
