Pastor: Can I get a light roast?
Barista: Your sermons are basically TED Talks.

This is constructive criticism but it’s very hard to get through this podcast bc the interviewer keeps saying “yea” “mhmm” which is very distracting! Love the podcast though!

Why do pastors and churches even count how many come to Christ and be saved or be baptised? I think that’s revealing of where their hearts are. Why do the numbers even matter? This month 100 people came to Christ or next month 50. What’s the motive behind counting? Gods word tells us that the heavens rejoice over one saved soul

I think that is most of the ones that count motive. To celebrate those new believers and praise God for His goodness. Right? I'm sure there are some with motives that have gone awry.

@@williamphelps4552 motive is to spread the gospel. I don’t think Paul or Peter kept a record of how many people were saved. It’s a weird thing that pastors do these days to boast and show the congregation how many people were saved. I think it’s unnecessary regardless of motive. Counting and keeping track is clearly not necessary. When it becomes about numbers, one day, when there’s only a handful of people who are saved, man’s natural tendency is to compare the numbers.
