Have you ever tried any of the BENCHMARK series? I keep hearing good things, only can get Benchmark 8 up in Detroit area. I hear the top floor benchmark is legit good. Love your channel. It’s honestly my go to. I’d love to buy you a shot just for the knowledge that you’ve given me.

I drink almost all my bourbon neat in a glencairn glass! My go to whiskey mixed drink is MakerMark 46 and Zero Sugar Ginger ale with a squeeze of a lime on top 🥃😁
My favorite wheated has to be Makers Mark or Larceny. I love a good Larceny Barrel Proof or Makers Mark Wood Finish! Its really good stuff! The benchmark stuff is really really good! The Full Proof and Single Barrel are the move! Gotta snag one when you see them for the price they are hard to beat! Thank you for watching my friend and I look forward to that shot! 😏🥃

If you ever do decide to grab a bottle of Still Austin, you need to let it open up before sipping it. Every bottle I get, the first sip is off putting to me. But then I put the bottle up and come back to in in a couple of weeks and that has helps allow it to give you all of what it has to offer. If you do that then you will more than likely enjoy the pour.

Don’t waste your money on sea grass unless you like super sweet whiskey. The apricot brandy barrel really takes over. If it was muted 50% more it would be bomb, but for me I won’t be picking up another bottle 😊
The World Whiskey Society releases are sourced products, blended well & aged in various casks for different lengths of time. Nothing new there, but they are very limited, each bottle is hand numbered, with phenomenal metal stoppers and loaded with flavor. I was fortunate to be able to taste them. 😊 I sure enjoy your videos!!!

That High West cask strength was good enough for me to go get a second bottle and the Prairie bourbon cognac finish is one of my favorites. Finally got my hand on some Old Grand Dad 114 and wasn't disappointed. KC 12 also a great buy and pour!!!

Those 2 Still Austin are the best 2 yr bourbon I have ever had. CS is fantastic and the regular is a solid bottle. After trying them for first time last month I went out next week and bought them and backups for my bar. The CS I will have to start having several backups as it gets consumed so quickly

When I visited back in March I got that cognac finish high west pick from Dante’s but I’ve yet to crack it. I’m definitely glad to hear it’s a good one lol. It’s an awesome spot down there man! The distillery tour over at high wire was a great experience too while I was there. Thanks for all the cool videos

That Chattanooga 111 is a fantastic bottle, very unique profile. Worth grabbing if you don't have anything from them. Same for the Still Austin Cask Strength, amazing bottle. Best thing I've tasted out of Texas.

Nice selection in those stores. The Still Austin cask strength for $49 is a great bargain, IMHO. They are not the best out there, BUT for the money they are pretty dang good.

I am on my second bottle of Maker's Mark Golden Hour. It is my favorite Maker's Mark Private Selection creation that I have tried so far.
The pick at Creekville Spirits Slaps too maybe thats because I got to try before I buy but most store pick Makers are good

I agree! How long did yours sit in the Cognac? This one was 1 year and 3 months which is 4 months longer than ive seen before

Up here in michigan total wine gets pretty good stuff however there are hunters at the door every morning waiting just in case they have something good. My honey hole is a chain grocery store. Being a chain they have the volume to get allocated stuff, but nobody hunts grocery stores so there is a chance of finding it on the shelf.
Most of those people are scalping sellers too 🥺

Im up in FT Mill on occasion and their stores do not have as good of prices and selection as CHS imo. Southern Spirits is probably the best but they still seem to allocate a lot of stuff that is usually on the shelf here.

I've gotten more allocated bottles at Total Wine than any other store. Total Wine by me will drop bottles on the shelf all the time.
The one by me does a “rewards” point system where you gotta spend X amount of money to be able to even buy allocated stuff
this is correct. The manager at my local told me they have to put out whatever they get and they do it on Fridays. I got a Jack 10 for 75 and a Old Forester single barrel barrel proof for 90

Willer green top is an interesting bottle. Has a minty/tea note that makes it interesting compared to other ryes. More complex than most
I haven’t tried it yet but ive heard you either love it or hate it

I got a bottle of still Austin in Galveston cuz Oklahoma doesn’t have it. I think it’s pretty easy drinking . I can concur with Garrison brothers , like drinking an old catchers mitt

Never had anything from Savannah Brand, but I was told by a local store owner that it is not even made in Savannah. I would stick with burnt Church Anita’s choice.

WOW, the JJ Bowman SB was 49.99 and the Isaac Bowman port finish was 59.99! in regular markets the port finish is 30 and the SB is 50

$23.99 for BT all day at Walmart in S Florida. TW loves pushing their Spirits Direct like a car salesman. They do put allocated on the shelf with a limit 1 but usually sells out fast.

Total Wine had Willett Pot Still for $100 and it was sold out? That makes me sick. 😂
I stay clear of the Total Wines near mean but have really liked my local Specs. For a big box store they have a few employees that are really into their whiskeys and don't tend to steer you wrong. They were the ones that actually stopped me from buying the Willett Pot Still when I was first getting into whiskey.
That BT Bundle was pretty solid for the price and I would have had a hard time passing on that Blood Oath 9 for $129. Places around me that have Blood Oath 9 are asking $200-$250 and I just can't bring myself to pay that for a try. I do love that Still Austin Cask Strength though.

I don't know how things are over in your area, but in the Columbia-Lexington area there are way too many people with way too much money and way too much time on their hands. If you're a "regular" guy, you're pretty much out of any chance at getting something allocated. I belong to several local groups and whenever something hits the stores, there will immediately be posts from folks who were already there and bought everything up...

You definitely need to be careful about the TW recommendations. Some of their salespeople are remarkably ignorant about bourbon.

Had some time to kill yesterday and wandered into Total Wine which I normally avoid and heard the salesman recommend Willett Pot Still 4 times in like 15 minutes. Your prices are not great and I was underwhelmed by them at my store.

Total Wine employees get on my nerves they are willing to help you but no matter what you are looking for they go straight to their house brands. In my area they are now pushing this is made by Saz, this taste just like BT. Kinda annoying lol
