A thriftstore in my home town was shut down for like 6 months for remodeling... I came home to visit over the summer and they reopened and I went and got SOO much good stuff for like $100 total. I haven't needed to shop since lol

First corset I ever bought and I'm walking out of the store, and around in public... this very sweet lady pulled me aside and discretely explained to me that I was wearing the darn thing backwards!!! I wanted to die of embarrassment, and was mad at the lady that fitted me with it and let me walk out of the store like that as well...😮😂
To be honest.. who decided that corsets have to be worn with the “closed” side in the front? I think a lot of corsets can also be worn backwards and it makes the look pop too!! That’s the whole point of experimenting with fashion. You were just ahead of your time 😉
@@maccaromi As someone who has made corsets, there is a front and a back for a reason. The way that the panels are placed are meant to go in a certain spot to produce the desired silhouette. Some of the cheaper fashion corsets you could probably get away with doing this, but a more expensive one please don't - you'll hurt yourself or the corset or both!
thank you for the info! I sew my own corsets and belts and since i mostly use pretty soft fabric, i can always try out both ways without damaging my body but ofcourse, proper corsets are supposed to be worn the right way @@Shridra
for most corsets it's a fit/cut thing. the shape/boning has a front/back. but could be this one was built more like stays and not an obvious front/back. So it could be you were fine and I would hope whoever fitted you knew how to dress someone in it. If you are happy with it, wear it: front/back if it fits/supports correctly, there's no wrong way. Own it however you want
