- The best aquarium Zebra Danio tank mates. These aquarium fish are some of my favorite because they are beautiful and don’t need heated water. Keeping other fish with zebra danios is super easy because they are not aggressive.

I’ve had leopard Danio for about year - they’ve slightly reduced in number but have been great fun! Rescued some zebras a week or so ago… so have both now!
I will say this, these are the most resilient fish i have had by far. However, one of my danio has eaten just about all of the other danios tail. Not sure how to prevent this
I haven't done a water change on my 120gallon tank. Never even thought about it! All I do is replace evaporation.
My male betta harassed mine so I had to separate them.
I love this room... the plants, the hardscape, the platys...
Great video! I have one little zebra in a classic round bowl. I was fish sitting it when my brother went on a trip. He never took it back, so i ended up with a pet zebra fish lol. Is he ok by himself, for does he need company? Thank you!
They do prefer being in a school. but if your Danio is doing ok, it shouldn't be a problem.

I had some in a 15 column planted tank with emerald corys and Buenos Aires tetras. I upgraded them to a 20g and a week and a half after draining and rescaping I found 15 fry that made it and a tetra fry. So setting up another tank for the fry now.
Ive got some golden longfin danios with my white clouds. The danios are so much more confident and brave. They literally got up to my hand when i reach in while my white clouds tend to swim away. I have noticed the danios kinda chasing the white clouds a bit and sometimes poking them. This might be nipping behaviour but the white clouds dont fear them and theres no nipped fins so i think it should be fine. The danios are however 1 cm larger than the white clouds too.
i have 4 zebra danios and started with 3 shrimps, 2 males and 1 female. now i have over 60 shrimp and even the danios had babies! loving the tank ive done and alot of fish keepers always said dont mix shrimp and danios together but the seem to love it in the planted tank

I had about 20 of them for a few years. They were super hardy, but they were mean as hell to each other. My wife decided to clean the tank one week when I was working a lot of overtime and killed everyone of them.

I just got 4 in my 36gallon planted betta tank with neon tetras, ghost shrimp, a nerite snail, and a cappuccino spike snail. I have noticed the free bladder snails as well
I keep my Danios in a 29 Gallon with Guppies, Platies, Snails, Ghost Shrimp and a male Betta🙌🏼
I made the mistake today of using potting soil and all of the peat and perlite made a huge mess. A few water changes and a lot of netting got it mostly clear. I was thinking of ember tetras instead of danios as companions to my beta sorority. Thoughts?
be careful with betas they are very aggressive (name translates to battle fish) male betas never go together, females are docile together most the time but with other fish it's a 50/50 so please be careful

I keep mine with my beta fish cloud,a tippler group of guppies with a baby.There are times where he might seem to be trying to chase the guppies,But he is not. or maybe he is I can’t really tell As he just bothers them and chases them but he won’t seem to nip I think he might js be lonely not sure though,there is lots of plants, and hiding places.guppy’s don’t swim away from him the just go on as normal ish, my betta is fine he barely even goes past the fish and when they do js a little bit awkward thinking about breeding my little dude soon gonna love having baby betas

How would they be with rainbows and large torpedos?
I kept mine with white clouds and panda garra and they all got along great. When I first added them the zebras would nip each other and the minnows establishing a pecking order. After the first week though they were fantastic. Kept them in a 15gal high flow tank.
Side note, with an aquaclear 30, filterless powerhead, and a single pathos plant growing out of the filter I had to do 0 water changes.
Consistent 0,0,0 readings, that Pathos sucked up all of the nitrates that developed immediately,

I have shrimps with my zebra danios, they don’t mess with the adult shrimps, but they do eat the babies, so I’m planning on taking them out of the tank.
I don't know if you were joking, and I don't know where you live, but there are actually laws (zoning laws I think) in places that do not allow you to turn your house into a business that drives traffic to it. As in, you cannot have people showing up in cars and parking in front of your house to shop for fish. I'm sure lots of people get away with it anyways, but after I read those laws it killed many of my ideas for years afterwards.

He was saying he was living in his business more or less which isn’t an issue in most places. You can’t have a business in a residential zone though (say you buy a house in the middle of a neighborhood, you can’t turn that into a business.) but you can 100% buy a building that is a home and live in it while you run a business. Not sure the exact laws with fish or live things, but I’m from South Carolina and there are so many business that the owners live in the back of (few examples being a gun pawn shop/firing range the owner lives in the back, there’s a fish store in a strip mall that sells pool equipment and pond equipment and the man lives in a shack style room connected to the back, and even the restaurant I work for uses a residential building for storage off site though I will say we got in trouble for cooking in the back yard one year for an event and it was a zoning violation but had nothing to do with traffic but had to do with fire Marshall’s not being able to properly inspect an “outdoor kitchen”.)

I just started a 5 gallon for my kids. We have 6 Zebra Danios, a small bottom feeder and 2 snails. We have a hiding cave and a fake tree plus a toy toilet that is small and hilarious. They seem happy so far. I used to have a 55 gallon when I was in my 20s and it was a great tank. Everting was thriving. I want to add more real vegetation and a few more fish. I don’t wanna over crowd. What does anyone suggest. I have never had a tank this small. I know it can handle more and I want to add more within reason. Shrimp, smaller fish etc…
I'd add shrimp only, or nothing. 6 Zebra is enough fish for a 5g

2-3 danios is enough in a 5 gallon and you shouldn’t have more fish. They’re too active swimmers and need more room.
I just got some zebra danios today to go with my neon and black skirt tetras. They are so fun to watch! One of them even hangs out with my neon tetras it's so cute. I am keeping an eye on them though, because one of my black skirts is a little bit of a bully, and he's been eyeing the danios. So far he's kept away from them. I'm wondering if he's just interested in his new tank mates, but none of the other fish seem to care that they are there.
I bought some zebra danios today. I don’t run a heater either and the person at local fish store said that I shouldn’t keep platy in a colder but instead recommended betta fish.🤦🏻♂️ Everything I’ve ever heard about betta fish was that they were tropical and requires a heater. My tank is normally between 69-74 degrees f.

Ik this is an old comment but they will generally terrorize snails to the point that they're scared to extend their tentacles at all.

One of my danio killed the other 2 danio's and It nipped most of my guppies and most my guppies end up dy!ng help, tips tho?
I had that problem too. The key is to have at least 5 but 7 is better. I only have a 10 gallon and my LFC said take 3. I had them with a male Betta. My Betta is very docile and they all got along with the Betta but the 2 danios picked in the smallest one and ended up killing it. So I got 3 more to make 5. Then the danios were good but one of the new ones was really aggressive and went after the Betta.. removed the Betta and still no peace so I added 2 more and we have peace once again. They're very active so I have lots of flow and am air stone in the tank. It helps with their energy to have to swim harder. It's been 4 months since I've had 7 in there and it's a great tank. They seem happy, chase each other, no one is getting picked on. I call it my shark tank cause they're crazy!!! Feeding time is the best

I wouldn't keep fancy guppies with long fing dainios, they are to fast for guppies, and will nip st them

@@alessandramarienakut3351 rosy barbs, gold barbs, sword tails,, black skirt tetras, and other tetras will be fine, try not to keep neon tetras, or other small tetras with them

I have 11 zebra danios with my male betta named Candice in a 20g long, they do great together never aggressive towards each other Candice is a sweet heart.
It is not zeebra it is zebra.
