Love all your choices and secrets, like raising the pots with a hidden paint can. Also, I love your videos bc you don’t have your kids in the videos. It keeps your channel more professional and tolerable. TY.
For your mums to last, soak them in a 5 gallon bucket of water for 30 minutes to an hour-and when you water, water from the bottom not over the top😊I always plant mine in the ground after the season, as they come back every year for spring and fall-love the porch 🍁🍂💛🧡
I’m with you Megan I HATE bushes especially in front of windows. I literally by myself chopped down 6 of them and what a difference of how much more light and view came in y home!!!! Of course another nice front makeover. ❤❤❤
In the center of the pot on your porch (and on the corner) is a perennial ornamental fountain grass, if you want you can put it in the ground before winter and it will come back every year. You just need to trim it before spring or in the winter each year. Your porch looks pretty for the season 😊
@@lovinglifeasmegan I’m trying something new this year. In a couple of areas I decorate in the yard, I planted pumpkins seeds, hoping to get a few to grow those area for decorative purposes…so far so good, got a few growing along with Acorn squash..🤞🏼
I LOVE IT!!!!! The mums are a beautiful shade of purple, we mostly have red, yellow and orange. I am completely terrified of heights. My knees will buckle and I start to get a little dizzy. ☺️
Very nice decorations, & I love those stack pumpkins, great you got a discount on one that was damaged, but won't show wear you have it. You could put some orange paint & maybe a little brown paint mix to the color of the pumpkin & it should help. Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing! ❤☺️🫂🌞🍄🦩🐦🌹🪻🐾🦋🍁🌺💐🪴
Agree with you on the bushes. We took ours out. Just cut it down, dig around it then water it until it’s really wet. Put a rope around the base and pull them out with your truck 😝easy peasy
Yay kudos to Derek! He’s such a great hubby! And his face expression and how he was laughing with all the flowers you guys got cracked me up! 😅 outdone yourself really great that 3 stack pumpkin is super cute and always great thinking if somethings on it can turn it around we do that too and tell our store and to see if we can get percentage off as well. And can’t wait for Halloween decorations too loved how you guys did your home last year! Have a great week! 💜
My husband bought me a leaf blower last year. I haven’t gotten to use it yet. But I have been wanting a leaf blower forever. It’s battery powered like all his tools. So he will be getting it out for me pretty soon. If those mums are still on sale I will be getting some. I saw a commercial on tv about them being on sale. And I forgot about it. We’ll be going to Lowe’s tomorrow. I have a wood scarecrow that’s dressed with clothes. My husband said it’s in our shed. I hope he can find it. I don’t normally decorate for the fall. But I might as well get that out. We usually put in by a bale of hay. I’m not sure how that will work out with all the cats we have outside. I’m sure a few will mess it up. I have a shepherds hook somewhere too. I’m going to find that and buy something to hook on it.
Great job, Megan! It all looks so beautiful! So colorful and Fallish! Those mums are gorgeous, and the wreath and pumpkins ~ it all looks great! Derek is a great husband to take care of those bushes! It was so cute and funny in the car when he was laughing about all of the stuff in there! 😂🤣🤣 🍂🍁🎃
Tennessee was extremely hot and humid. We lost our plants. Even a greenhouse full. Plus storm damage after more storms and more storms. Our home suffered so much from humidity or doors wouldn’t open and close. Our floors had to be replaced due to extreme humidity damage. Lost the refrigerator due to humidity. Our brand new air unit stopped working because power was off an on constantly. One storm bent the pools on our above ground pool. We got the C virus then strep throat and our dog died. I am so relieved summer is ending! I’m going to decorate my porch , I painted my front door. I’m just ready to move past this summer. If you watch our four husky homestead it was Pearl who has passed. We miss her. She had the best personality. I’m sure she is having fun in heaven. We did plant a beautiful bush over her grave that will be green all winter and has big pink blooms in summer. Pink was her color, she was my girly girl. Praise God we can move forward knowing she is with Jesus. Everything you did looks great! LA
This heatwave has definitely been rough on the plants. Your front porch looks great! I love the plants you used. I haven't done much but I put out a new fall wreath on September 1st. I'm over summer.
Megan, do you think it would be worthwhile to trim the front yard shrubs down below the windows? It might enable the shrubs to start blooming again near the bottom so they fill out. Just a suggestion!
Hi, those different colors leaf plants are called crotons…they come in all different colors and texture….I love them with ferns…I planted them in my garden a couple of years ago and what a statement they make…use odd numbers of both ferns and even number of crotons or visa versa. Plant croton fern croton fern croton…or fern croton, fern, croton fern…I love watching your videos…you do such an amazing job with your decor….have a blessed week…
Looks great!!! I always say less is more but I have a hard time doing less 😅 yes just pulling weeds makes a ton of difference. I need to cut back a couple bushes but they are still blooming and my mother in law told me not to trim them while blooming but I don't know if it will hurt them or not. I've read mixed things on Google.
Your basil will die off as soon as it gets colder. Before it does, cut it back and tie the stems together and hand it to dry upside down in your kitchen. When it's dry, crumble it up and put into a baggie, squeeze the air out and store in the fridge or freezer. You'll be amazed at how fresh it stays. The rosemary will take the cold down to -20°f, so just keep watering it sparingly during the winter. Next year, plant your basil in a separate pot. The two are incompatible with watering. Herbs such as rosemary, sage, thyme, catnip, and others don't like to get their feet (roots) wet and should be planted together. They are perennials. I've had rosemaries get to be about10 years old before getting too woody. Herbs like basil, parsley, celeric, and cilantro like lots of water, and are annuals. I should mention that I used to own an herb farm and learned a lot of this through trial and error!
So wish I could decorate my front yard or even door area🥹🥹 I’m in a duplex so front porch has to be shared & it’s super tiny then can’t do my yard cause my neighbor mowed my side and ended up mowing over my garden flag 🥲🤣 I have big bushes blocking my front windows that I hateeee lol it’s also attracts wasps and other bugs 🐜 🐛 🐞
I’m finally finished decorating for Fall 2023, and we’re ending it with a bang! I hope you all enjoy my Fall Front Porch Makeover! 🎃
spilled paint on concrete? wash it away wet if possible, just a drip, grab some dirt, throw it on, rub it in, kick it away.
All looked so pretty . But what would look even better is a flower put for the ower on you outdoor table. And maybe a candle outside . 😊
A candle outside would probably melt lol

I do water them, but sometimes the sun burns them up anyway
What a shame but the decorativo was beautful. I like how you decorate. Greetings from the Dominican Republic 🤗
Those first plants are Crotons! Tropical plant...in my opinion, very difficult to maintain. I've had quite a few and they just drop their leaves..
I didn’t have that experience at all, they were very low maintenance & resistant for me.

Very lovely Megan, but what happens to your decor if it rains?
It’s all outdoor safe, so weather proof 😊
Great video! What is the glass cleaner? I’m looking for one that doesn’t streak. Thank you
I can’t remember if I used sprayway or JAWS glass cleaner in this video, but they are both great & I would recommend either of them!
How much did the pumpkin end up costing you? If u don’t mind me asking?
I don’t remember the exact price, but everything was under $100
The front looks great but you definitely should remove those shrubs! You can’t see your house and you’d be surprised the difference it will make!
If we planned for this to be our forever home then we would, but we know that eventually we’ll move, so it’s not worth the expense.
Don’t take out overgrown shrubs. Prune to one foot tall just before spring in your area. They wii comeback.
We aren’t taking them out because it would be a lot of work, but we do want to lol
