35mm is the right size, the 38 is too large for the reel

Sorry about the late response. We just use thread locks. Works great, but will.make it difficult if you need the replace the knob again.

For rock fishing, gegt a saragosa or saltist brother.
Aluminum Color would of been more cosmetically better.

It could be the washers, try adding one more.
