Concern over KZN government dire financial outlook

  • The KwaZulu-Natal Finance Department is worried about the province's spending habits. If the current trends continue, there are concerns the province may end up with a budget of R9 billion by the end of next year.
    The cash crunch has been worsened by the recent snowstorm along the N3 - with warnings of more adverse weather in the coming days.
    What will it take it keep the province's public purse from collapse?
