How good was Robinho actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most talked about players we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Robinho who played for Santos, Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan for most of his career.

Excellent video. I'm a RM fan and I remember his time while he was there but I didn't follow his career after he joined ManCity. Very sad to hear how his professional journey ended and it only makes me wonder how many famous people are like him behind closed doors.

In Brasil, players like Robinho, Neymar, Adriano and etc, all come from a poor background, and as soon as they show any talent that can be harnessed, they are treated like kings, with no limits, doing whatever they want and how and when they want, never listening to ''NO''.
In my opinion, that kind of summarizes his career, in Real Madrid, he wasn't that big of a deal, was just a promising player that needed to prove his value and that followed him to every big club he went to, so he decided to leave. Also, the lack of limits led him to commit gang rape against that woman.

A little bit of background here: the phrase “Meninos da Vila” was actually coined 34 years before, in 1978, as a new generation of youngsters from Santos’ academy - Pita, Nilton Batata, Juary -, alongside 1970 WC winner Clodoaldo (if I’m not mistaken) managed to give them their first São Paulo league title after Pele had retired in 1974. I don’t recall it ever being used mockingly - on the contrary, back in 2002 we’d use the phrase approvingly. In the end everybody was rooting for that Santos against Corinthians.

That's why only a few stand out and become GOAT's. You can't achieve awesomeness being irregular in a highly competitive sport and with so many new stars appearing every year. Robinho is another one of those "could have been".
I don't blame them for not going for or achieving greatness, each and every one of us have an internal struggle that pulls us back, so I can't judge people if they fail to be what others - think - they can be. And being average is not the bad thing people say, as long as you are happy with your life, do whatever you want.
But hurting others or abusing them, that's just wrong and on that department, it's shameful.

      Brains.
What many people underestimate, or even ignore, are brains.
Balotelli, Robinho and many others lack that education and/or intellect.
It is something that football teams should foster and build on more. Sadly many just think a player needs to just kick a ball to be good.
Actually lacking an education and the ability to think is the reason why so many young wonderkids fail.

He got too much recognition/attention in such a young age, unable to handle it properly, and gone wild. His talent gave him advantages, but without hard work it will not take him far. Its no wonder he ends up in prison. He messed up his chance for a prosperous life, the one Ronaldo,Roberto Carlos enjoy now.
